They searched and searched for a place that matched their vibe and their pocketbook. And even though Sadie Lake was almost two hours from their home, it proved to be the perfect choice (well, except for the local dinosaur infestation). From Day 1, they' were in love with DeeDee. She offered lots of items for free that couples usually have to pay to rent or buy. Everything was all listed on her website so even those of us in other states could peruse. The location is so beautiful and the premises really felt quaint and homey, not formal and stuffy like some venues. And then there were things that no other venue offered, like the boat on the lake for some fantastic photos! I think the bonus was that it was probably the least expensive place they looked at. Deedee's not in it to make bank; she does it because she has a beautiful place that she wants others to enjoy on their special day. As the mother-of-the-bride, I'm not surprised that I thought it was the second best wedding I've been to (don't I have to pick my own as #1), but soooo many guests told me they felt the same way. I can't imagine a reason why you wouldn't pick this location!!

Disappointing Experience with Sadie Lake…read more We originally booked Sadie Lake for our daughter's wedding, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. The venue itself was okay, but our biggest disappointment was dealing with DeeDee. Throughout the process, we felt that rules and expectations continued to change, leaving us increasingly uncomfortable with our decision to book there. One of the most off-putting things was the way DeeDee communicated with our family. She would only speak directly to the bride and would not address the mother of the bride or the mother of the groom when we asked questions. While we completely understand that the bride's wishes should come first, we felt there was no reason to dismiss family members who were actively involved in planning the wedding. It came across as rude and unprofessional. I've read the reviews about DeeDee on Yelp, but I've also heard terrible things from other people, which makes me question whether those reviews accurately reflect everyone's experience. Our experience was quite the opposite of what many of the reviews describe. As for the venue, the decorations and furnishings available for use looked more like items collected from garage sales than what I would expect from a wedding venue. The groom's room was in a garage, and the bridal suite was in an attic with mismatched furniture. Neither was particularly impressive. We ultimately decided to cancel more than a year before the wedding. We understood that the contract stated there were no refunds, but we were told that if our date was rebooked, we could receive a partial refund. To this day, I don't know whether that date was rebooked. Given how far in advance we canceled, we had hoped there might be some flexibility, but unfortunately, we lost the money we had paid. In the end, it wasn't so much the venue itself that caused us to walk away, but our experience with DeeDee and the changing expectations. We simply didn't feel comfortable trusting such an important day to someone we found so difficult to communicate with. Thankfully, we found another venue, and our daughter and her fiancé had an absolutely beautiful wedding. Looking back, changing venues was the best decision we could have made. My advice to anyone considering Sadie Lake would be to carefully review the contract, ask plenty of questions, and make sure every detail and expectation is clearly understood before booking.

Every wine I have tried I have truly enjoyed; my current favorites are the Par La Mer and the Mourvedre. The wines are mainly red they serve, there was a Rose and I have heard rumblings there will be a white wine in the next year or two. Their wines are affordable but taste like high-end wines. Really they could easily charge more for the wines because they are definitely worth it. This isn't your typical mom and pop tasting room you can find in Woodinville. The tasting room has a modern feel that is welcoming. The staff in the tasting room are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. The one thing I am really appreciative of is how they treat their customers. For being in my early 20's I have been treated horribly by other tasting rooms nearby because I am younger, never have I been treated this way at Robert Ramsay. I actually feel welcomed inside and never get the feeling like I am being ignored. There are definitely a couple of tasting rooms in the area that don't want to be bothered with anyone under the age of 50! Also I did have wine shipped recently and I was very pleased at how quick it was shipped by the tasting room. Literally it was sent out with in two days and arrived in Florida by the end of the week.
