I was first alerted to Summer House during my last Disney trip in 2025. A cast member at a…read moredifferent restaurant recommended their cookies, and being a fan of baked goods I decided to check them out. Their cookies are good, and I wrote a positive review for them on the cookie page. That being said, I was curious to try out the main restaurant/menu, so one of my friends decided to meet up here for dinner.
Like many businesses in the Springs, Summer House is not owned by Disney. They have other locations in Maryland, Chicago, and Vegas, and you're able to reserve a table outside of the Disney app. The restaurant markets itself as showcasing California cuisine, and has a bright color scheme to go with the vibe. The space itself is quite large, with a combination of indoor dining, outdoor tables up front, and an outdoor deck in the back that sits on the lake. We were seated out back which was quite comfortable.
Outside of the California theming of the menu, there's really nothing else to tie the components together. They really attempt to appeal to the masses - pizzas, seafood, pastas, steak - a big compilation of different cuisines. We started with drinks - they had a selection of spritzes which sounded good, so I went with the 1996 one which was kind of their play on a Hugo Spritz.
For food, we started by sharing two apps - the shaved mushroom pizza and the ahi tuna and watermelon tostadas. These were both good - the tostadas were fresh, but I was more impressed with the pizza. I'm usually not a mushroom person, but the fact that they were shaved and paired with a light cream sauce made this super tasty mmmm. For my main, I had the steak taco platter, which came with all components of a taco laid out for me to build. These were tasty as well - the steak wasn't tough, and all the flavors worked well together.
Service was pretty good - our waitress was friendly and everyone we interacted with made the meal seamless. Overall, I had a good experience at Summer House. I wouldn't call the food outstanding, but it *is* tasty, and quality - combined with the vibes, it makes this a place I would definitely return to in Disney Springs.
