Would NOT recommend. Check out the reviews on Yelp for Bella Bro before hiring. I only looked at Google reviews and made a mistake hiring them. Owner was friendly but his workers made multiple major mistakes every time they came out. Here are the issues I had with a small mudroom project: Put putty on a door frame that needed to be replaced instead of fixing the door Installed a window that was clearly damaged, and kept it covered up Installed a shelf and each shelf was a different height Sloppy work in general - edging not cut evenly, framing not installed properly, nails showing. I just received a call, 215-633-0333, from their "intake person" Cathy and she was beyond rude! She was upset because instead of her having a soft opening to explain the reason for the call and how they handle their intake process she began to ask me what I thought was inappropriate questions about who was on my deed. So, when I asked her what the purpose of all the questions was as I felt she was just firing them off she got frustrated. She called me "Hun". After already asking my name, First and Last and identified myself as a gay woman (because she asked about my spouse) why did she think that was appropriate? When I asked her not to call me Hun, and asked if someone else could handle my intake process, she said no, insisted on talking over me and then hung up. Where is this type of professionalism okay? I would like to discuss things further and hope that someone, other than Cathy, call me back. read more

Bella Brothers was referred to us by a friend who had the kitchen remodeled, full bathroom created from scratch, and the master bath redone. We had already received multiple bids for our kitchen remodel. We called Bella Brothers last. Their quote, design, and consultation was much more thorough than the competition. This is our first large home renovation and the extra attention helped put us at ease and make the decision to move forward with the project. We are two weeks into the renovation. I have nothing but positive things to say. The workers are timely, diligent, respectful, and skilled. They make a point of cleaning up after every days work. Their communication is above and beyond my expectations and our home is transforming in front of us. It looks better than we had anticipated. I would recommend them to anyone. In fact, we already have. As soon as we are ready to tackle another part of our home, we will be calling Bella Brothers. I am surprised by the other reviews and would recommend that if you are researching contractors by review, you should also read their Google reviews, there are more reviews there and it would provide you with a better picture of the company. read more

I would not recommend this company. We hired them for several projects and they made mistakes on just about every project. The owner, Tom was very nice when he came to our house for the initial meeting. However, since the last bill was paid, he has not returned my emails regarding problems caused by his company. We were assigned an inexperienced project manager. Listed below are the projects and the issues we ensued. #1 Project- Wall papering installation Problem - They installed the wallpaper over an un-sanded wall. It was bumpy and peeling at the seams. We had them remove it and reinstall. I allowed the project manager to permit the wall paper installer into our home while we were at work. On our surveillance cameras, I observed the wall paper installer helping himself to coffee in our kitchen without asking our permission. When the wallpaper was installed, the toilet had to be moved and it was not put back properly. Also a few weeks ago we started to notice a foul smell coming from the master bathroom toilet and could not figure out the cause. We hired a contractor and he informed us that there was a crack in the back of the toilet causing the main drain to be loose and having a poor seal. One of Bella's contractors tried to fix this with epoxy, but this did not hold. Additionally, there is no caulk at the base of the toilet and all of the toilet screws are loose. I can only assume that the damage occurred during the 2 times that the toilet was removed to wallpaper the bathroom. The cost to purchase and install a new toilet was $538 to maintain the same brand of toilet throughout the home. #2 Project Outdoor Umbrella installed Problem-There was damage to the hardy siding that we noticed and the project manager had to come back to paint it. #3 Installation of fireplace and tiling Problem- Project started but was halted because more tiles needed to be ordered. They did not measure correctly so we had to wait weeks for it to be finished. Also our garage was left filthy with tiling dust as the cutting of the tiles occurred inside the garage with the doors closed. #4 Exterior door installation Problem- The old door was taken with our security device still installed. We called the project manager the next day and in was brought back. Also the original lock was not closing correctly on the new door. The project manager came out to attempt to repair this but to no avail. We had to call a locksmith who informed us that the original lock had been bent. We had to order a new lock and pay for the installation which cost us $150. We have had to call in other contractors and pay $680 in fees for work that was not completed correctly. I did not call Bella Brothers and ask them to come out about the door for the third time or for the toilet because there have been too many errors with several of the projects and we needed to know that the project would be done correctly. I emailed these concerns to the company owner, but he has not responded. We have decided to take this up with small claims court. read more

Construction workers on my street feel that it's totally acceptable to cat call and harass me when I'm trying to walk down the road. Its completely unacceptable that this behavior is allowed and I no longer feel safe at my house while they're present on the block. read more

We had a rep from Bella come to house to give us estimate on remodeling. He was polite, gave us helpful hints, etc. He said he get back to us soon with estimate. But... we never heard from him. I called their office three times and was told we'd hear back regarding estimate. Nothing. We heard nothing. From our point of view, it was a waste of our time. read more

We had a midsize deck that needed to be replaced. Bella Brothers' price was in the middle of estimates given, but they kind of gave a professional, secure feeling in their interaction with us, so we went with them. We got an estimate within 2 days, worker arrived within 8 days, and job was finished in 3 days (in a month that had torrential rains every other day). Great job, good cleanup, professional follow through. We recommend them. read more

I am amazed at how Bella Brother's Construction has received positive reviews. I have only had negative experiences with them. They do a classic BATE AND SWITCH to steal your money, change projects, and do not stand behind their work. Their owner has no accountability or professionalism once you sign the contract and leaves you wondering where your deposit goes, when you will be assigned project managers, and when/if your projects will ever be started (or competed). During my experience with them, they have changed project managers 4 times- one quit, one cursed me off (demanding money before project was completed), one was brand new and finally the owner "took over a project" before breaching our contract and backing out. They lacked all communication and follow up, which required me to constantly reach out to them for updates, project starts, etc. They constantly try to upsell you even though they had originally told/promised certain tasks would be done. And finally, the owner, himself, lacks all professionalism and accountability and backs out on projects via email with little explanation without the decency to actually discuss it with you. In conclusion, if you do proceed to use Bella Brother's construction, which I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND. I would make sure your contract includes EVERYTHING before singing- including start dates, completion dates, the fine details, what is included vs no included, etc. THIS COMPANY IS A CLASSIC CONTRACTOR SCAM! read more

I guess I should have read the reviews before contacting this company. Called to get an estimate for my kitchen and half bath. The guy who came out was supposed to get back to me with the numbers in a week. Read the reviews. He left me hanging to. I guess my budget wasn't enough for him even though he was recommended by a friend who lives down the road from his company. Lesson learned. Do your research before you call for an estimate. Don't even bother with this Contractor. They kept me waiting over a month for a design plan and the 203k paperwork. Never returned my calls. After several times of being brushed off by the office girl, with, he'll get back to you. I asked my son to call. My loan was on hold, time was wasted. I never got aa detailed design plan. Just a stock sketch and a price. Complete waste of my time. BTW, They contacted me immediately, after my son called! Horrible Company. I wanted the front of my house done, vinyl siding, windows and a new roof. Set up to come out on a Tuesday to look at the roof and to give me an estimate. The stated that as soon as the roofer looked at the roof he would call me. No call, I called them later on Tuesday and the girl said they would call me right back. No Call. I called on 2 times on Wednesday and they said the guy would call me back. No Call. Then I had an appointment on Thursday for a second guy to come out and give me price on the siding and windows. I get a call 1 hour before the appointment to let me know he was en-route. I told him I still don't have the price on the rook that I was promised. He said I got it right here with me. I said whats the price, I'm not sure I got to call the office. So he lied to me. Then I said well just give me a price on the other stuff, since you don't know how much the roof is going to cost. He agreed. Then 15 minutes later the guy calls back and said if they can't have the whole job they are not going to do the job. So in other words he is trying to bully me into giving him the roof job as well. I could swear that most people don't get a roof job done when they are getting siding. I would not hire these guys to mow my lawn let alone do any work on my house. read more

One of the owners, Tom I believe was his name came to my house to do a walk through of my house and discuss the projects I wanted to complete. Yikes! Should have followed my gut when estimate was promised next day and took a week, only after calling them. Got estimate for work on house, appt was postponed by them... then an hour before next appt. they call to say estimate has gone up almost 50%! What scam artists! I have had the worst experience with this company. They did my kitchen which was not an easy process some of the doors are worked now in under warranty I am allowed to get replacement doors. The replacement doors arrived without anyone at the office checking them to see if they're OK and they're full of cracks. I would never use this company again read more

I called Bella Brothers Construction the beginning of October requesting an estimate for work I needed done in my home. They sent someone out, he came in, measured everything and said he would get back to me with a week. A week later I called to follow up since I did not hear from them. The response, oh yeah, that's my boss. I'll let him know. Needless to say, I have yet to get a call back. This just tells me that they would not be the contractor to do the job for me. This is my update - only written after a completely erroneous response from Tom of Bella Brothers......did he really write that he paid to have my mother's ceiling completed, in order to please the customer??? Nothing could be further from the truth!! My mother's ceiling looks exactly as it did previously, completely undone. I am appalled that Tom would really recreate history - I wish he would show me what was done to my mother's ceiling, because trust me, NOTHING was done. Yes, I reported him to the BBB, but as I said previously, that only served to get him to actually send someone out to finish the job as previously promised. If I could give zero stars I would! They put up a patio for me within 3 days, which would seem great except the work was terrible! The boards were all warped & looked like they had been given out for free, the footings were all cracked, the boards were all split down the middle, the whole patio shakes when you walk on it. The patio door was never caulked around letting the rain in, warping and ruining our original hardwood floors and leaving mold to grow behind the moldings and underneath the floors! They promised to fix it, instead they caulked behind the molding that was coming off the wall letting the black mold smear into the caulking and left! The patio door is still not caulked and still lets in a draft and rain and snow! Anyone thinking about hiring them DON'T DO IT! They are expensive and do terrible work! You see the owner for your first meeting on what you want done, pay him, and never see him again, all the work is done by subcontractors! I wish I could get a full refund! Good luck getting them to come back out and fix anything, once they have your money it's all OVER! The receptionists are cranky and will tell you one date after another that they will come out and fix it, and you'll wait around for them to never show up! They left my basement door open when I had the ac on and let my two dogs run away! Never even got an apology! They claim to be a family run business oh please, if that is how you treat your family then I am glad I am no part of it! I would never Recommend them to anyone and will never be a repeat customer, everyone who asks me about my patio, I tell them I won't recommend who did the work, it's garbage! read more

Called for an estimate and Thomas came out to look at some plumbing work, 5 weeks & 2 follow up phone calls, still no estimate. Said it was still on his desk and hasn't gotten to it yet. I hear their work is good which is why I called to follow up twice but I'm not begging. read more

Do NOT use Bella Brothers. Working with them was a horrible experience, and they never finished the final touches on our remodel. They also did not pull a single permit, despite the fact that they said they would take care of it. And there are SO many things wrong with their work. Things are constantly breaking and half the work looks like it was done by an amateur, at best. The pipes in our brand new bathroom freeze in the winter and they never sent anyone out to take a look at it. They simply told us they weren't going to rip apart the walls in order to insulate properly. He nickled and dimed us around every corner when we gladly would have paid much more for a quality job. Friends of ours recommended Bella Brothers to us, and now everything in THEIR renovation is also falling apart and Bella is not getting back to them when they request repairs. The worst part was when Tom YELLED at us in our own home during the renovation. The one positive thing I can say about them is that the woman who works in the office is very nice. But even she can't make up for the horrible service and workmanship that you'll get from Bella. read more

These people are scam artists! Do not use them. What happened to me is very dissapointing. I signed their contract for a patio, paid the downpayment which they immediately cashed, and waited for three months to hear from them. I finally called to see when the patio would be started. I received a call back from one of the partners who requested to come to the property to measure one more time. I said yes, but how soon can the job be completed? Never got an answer. I received an email explaining to me that the price would have to be doubled due to digging, and rocks in the way, which was already noted by Tom, the owner of the company. Doubled the price after we agreed to their price and signed the contract and paid $2,000.00 deposit! Do not use these people, what they did to me is totally illegal. After you sign a contract, they cannot double the price! I am still waiting for the return of my deposit! Let the buyer beware!!!! read more
