Working with this company to fabricate and install quartzite counters has been a grueling process from start to finish. It takes several attempts to get a response from anyone. Stay away! It got to the point where I almost called my credit card company to dispute the deposit charge. read more

8-25-17: I paid for a countertop, backsplash and threshold in April of 2017. It took Abruzzi about a month to complete the counter. Then, I couldn't get the rest of the work done because supposedly they had a fire of some sort which delayed some of their work. Understandable. I was told to be patient and they would not forget about me. Months pass and Stephanie actually called me asking for the other half of payment in August to which I replied that the work was never completed. Apparently I was forgotten. Took them until August 2017 to complete the backsplash, after which I was nice enough to pay them for the remainder of the balance in anticipation that the threshold would be done that week as well. That was my mistake and it's nearly September 2017 and I'm still waiting on the threshold. Every single time I call I get the run-around about how everyone is busy and they'll call me back. They rarely do and if I'm lucky enough they call and tell me someone can "probably come out tomorrow," but out of the 4+ times I've been told that - nobody shows up and even worse, nobody will call me to update me at all. Then. when I call they treat me as though I'm bothering them. I guess they can't stop making sales long enough to complete a paid job. I called two weeks ago and spoke to Max, and gave him 4 open days of availability (Tuesday through Friday) where I was available to have an installer come to complete the work. I called weeks in advance because they don't seem to have time for people who have already paid them but still they could not complete the order. It's now the end of my 4 days of availability and my order remains unfilled. I've called 3 times just today and nobody will speak to me. Avoid this place at all costs, they will take your money and wont honor their appointments. Update as of 9-14-17: work was finally completed on 9-9-17 - the final piece (threshold) was finally installed, completing my original order from April 2017. The owner, Tony, apologized to me for the wait and completed the threshold himself after seeing my review, I'm certain. I do appreciate the apology, but the extremely long wait is surely not an industry standard. He explained the company had gone through some difficulties, which I won't go into here and because of this they couldn't fulfill my order in a timely fashion. However, the carpet leading up to the threshold still remains unsecured so I'll have to hire someone to tack it down and trim the excess carpet or do it myself. No big deal, but something I'd expect to be done considering the amount I was charged as it's relatively quick and simple to do. Guess he didn't have the tools on him to complete it. Oddly, all this week, the owner continues to call my phone when I'm at work, leaving voicemails asking me to remove my negative review, which I already had done on Facebook. I had no luck in getting a call back when trying to get the work completed, however once my review is visible, I'm getting calls daily. Because of this, I feel as though potential clients deserve to be aware of the inconvenience that they may be subject to when dealing with this company. I would never choose to deal with this company in the future and I sincerely hope they improve their customer relations as a result of my feedback. For the price that I paid, the service provided was far from sufficient. The countertop is good so far though, no complaints there. read more

My mom and I have been to at least 5 other places prior, looking for kitchen remodeling. Every place I visited before Abruzzi was extremely unprofessional. They weren't able to communicate effectively with my mother's broken English. Stepping into Abruzzi, we were immediately greeted by the friendly sales reps. They were phenomenal and I can't thank them enough for being so patient with us. When the installers came out to our house, we were shocked by how quickly the job was completed, along with the accuracy. It is exactly what my mother imagined and more. That's not even the best part! Comparing prices to other places, Abruzzi was significantly cheaper than most of their competition, whilst executing the job with the highest quality. The entire process, the price of the job remained fixed. I was worried about how other places ended up overcharging their customers much more than the actual quote. We worked with Jill Banks and she was really helpful. Jill is very friendly and makes great suggestions. The entire process was very smooth and our kitchen cabinets look great. We also want to send a special thanks to Mark Marino (also a very nice guy) for allowing us to obtain a beautiful granite counter top. We really appreciated Mark's kindness and the counter top was perfect. Finally, the counter top installers were amazing as well. Knowledgeable and up front staff. We had some very specific questions about a bathroom renovation we were considering doing and instead of just throwing numbers at us , the owner took the time to review everything and make us aware of any complications and "hidden costs" that could really make this a bigger project than intended. In the end we decided to do some minor upgrades ourselves, but we really appreciated the openness and honesty about what this could turn into instead of trying to grab our deposit and just hoping there were no issues down the line. I was confident that if we were going to pull the trigger on this bath renovation that these would be the people to deal with over the other designers/contractors we got quotes from. read more

Was recently overcharged. They have made mistakes and did not own up to them, charged me WAY more than I was quoted, took several weeks to finish. I have never had a good experience with this place, and will never go back. They do not care about your customer experience, and are only concerned with how deep your pockets are. I went in for some help with getting new kitchen countertops. I stood inside for 15 minutes before anyone even came inside to help me (I heard people talking all over in offices and outside) which was fine but when someone did it was a woman who obviously didn't want to actually help. When I asked any questions she kept saying "I don't know about the granite those guys are outside" but never offered to go grab anyone she just kept asking what specific name of the stone I wanted. I said I was open to quartz or granite and wanted to look around and get some quotes. I explained I had gotten 2 quotes from other places. She wanted to know what exact stones I wanted from other places. I showed her pictures of colors I liked but still she never showed me any samples? She wanted specifics but I didn't have any?? At this point another guy said he heard us talking and brought in one sample then he went in his office and closed the door. She quoted me a price she "thinks" it would be and it was $350 more than my highest quote and didn't even include for them to take the old granite away?? She then said "ok you got it" like she was done with me and I just left. How on earth is that how a company does business?? Why not grab someone who knows what they're doing instead of half-heartedly helping me?? We're obviously going with the place down the street since he was helpful, clear and to the point with a quote. read more

I was purchasing a counter top from them due to the nice sales guy Marc that I worked with. Marc was off today so when I called, Stephanie was nice enough to try and help me. I was confused about the process since I have never bought a countertop before and this is a splurge item for me. Stephanie handed the phone to Tony to answer some questions. He started the conversation with, who are you? I dont know where things went from there other than downhill. He kept asking who is doing "the work" on my house. I thought they were? I didnt understand that I needed to have the sink preinstalled and would have been happy to do so but he kept saying a bunch of things in his "language" and I honestly just didnt understand. As he is telling me and I am getting upset, he was almost laughing that I was frustrated. I told him I thought it best to get off the phone and I would call Marc. He said we didnt charge your card, not doing business with you. Now I know spending $3500 is probably a little thing to them but not to me. I went to 5 stores, did my homework and went off of reviews in my final choice. Any man that can have a woman in tears and then just hang up on her all because she didnt understand how a sink was installed is not meant to talk to people on the phone. It was awful. read more

I had chosen Abruzzi to do the fabrication of my marble slabs based on a number of factors. First- I will mention that I interviewed about 5-7 different fabricators in the area, and even some places in central NJ. I wanted someone who was experienced in working with marble, someone who could hone a polished slab if I needed it, and, also- someone who could do a waterfall edge (wall of marble from top of counter-top to floor) with confidence. After a very long day looking at stone suppliers all over NJ, I stopped into Abruzzi after a supplier gave me a short list of fabricators who will hone marble/stone. Thankfully- I met with Tony- who- after not long, I felt comfortable they did great work, and are not afraid to work with marble. It turns out...out of all of the fabricators- they were the only ones...shining stars!! that told me 'no problem- we can do that'. What they meant was...'we do quality work- we do it all the time' as I came to find out. I checked they have many reviews and rewards on Houzz, and their project samples were impressive as well. At times I wanted to 'price shop', but I could not rationalize saving a small percentage of $$ with another fabricator who I did not have 100% confidence in, like I did with Abruzzi. They are very competitive in pricing as well. Other fabricators eliminated themselves one by one- it was a fascinating process and experience. I learned a lot. Once I gave the deposit, I scheduled the template, had granite removed, and the install was about 14 days later -it would have been 10 but my schedule did not allow. I did note that they are busy! They have other jobs going on and did not want to rush my fabrication so that it could be installed quickly. I worked with Victoria to hammer out dates that would work for me- because I sensed quickly that if I did not, they would be booked up! (you don't want your fabricator to be completely available for your schedule, right?) Workmanship mattered, and I appreciated that. Yes- there are places that will do a 3 day turn-around from template to install. But I did not want a 'drive-thru' experience. I wanted quality work above all. The install went smoothly, and the team was courteous and professional. We have already received several compliments on their work. I LOVE our honed cararra marble counter tops- they are amazing. After they took our deposit, it took three days to book the template appointment. Apparently there is only one person who can schedule, so if she is not available, the customer has to wait. They said they would install 8-10 days after the template was made. On day 7, we had to call them and the representative still wasn't sure when our install was happening. We were scheduled for the 10th day, but then they called to push back our appointment because of rain. They called again to push our already-delayed appointment back because they broke our stone (apparently, they are not concerned about all of the other people who are involved in construction work-- their schedules don't matter, nor do those of the customers). When they finally completed the installation, they did a sloppy job with the silicon and one section of the countertop was the wrong size. They claimed this wasn't their fault. If you use them, make sure you get everything in writing-- from the exact date of the template appointment, to the exact measurements of the stone (they use wood for the template, so make sure you document the measurements). read more
