Whatever employee was working on this day was completely rude and unprofessional. Arrived to the location asked if it was a requirement to have an appointment to view some bridesmaids dresses. The employee responded "yes that's why I have 7 girls here right now". I was shocked by her response and then responded "ok I apologize I attempted to call to inquire if an appointment was required before I came" the employee responded AGAIN "yeah because I'm working with 7 girls right now". I feel the comments were completely unnecessary to a potential customer and she could have instead offered me an appointment or directed me to the site to book an appointment instead closed the door went on about her business. Needless to say I won't be using this company in St. Louis or any other location for that matter. read more

I made an appt and I got an automated email saying they cancelled the appt. No one tried to call me and no one has returned my mom's voicemail. At least take 1 minute out your day and write a personalized email to let me know why it's being cancelled but also wouldn't it be more business savvy to call me and reschedule? read more

If only there were an option for zero stars. I can't even talk about how the store or dresses were because my appointment was cancelled without my knowledge. They tried to bump my original appointment to 1:15 from 1:00 via email correspondence. Because I never responded to their emails, they decided to cancel my appointment. I only found out my appointment was cancelled because I called them the day before to ensure my appointment time was right. Due to an error with email forwarding, I never received the two emails they sent asking to change the time. Upon finally receiving them from the store (after calling the day before my appt) neither even so much as hinted that my appointment would be cancelled. I called the owner, Carrie, who was extremely rude to me and essentially acted as though it were my fault that my appointment was cancelled. She never tried to call me or send an email notifying me that my appointment was cancelled. She didn't even seem to care that this ruined my bridesmaids' travel plans to come try on the dresses. An owner who cares this little about her customers should NEVER receive anybody's business. read more

The website says they're open until six. Yelp says they're open until six. The answering machine says they're open until six. I leave work early to sit in traffic and get there by 4:30, and they're closed. I even waited around 20 minutes to ensure someone didn't come back. Huge waste of my time, and I certainly won't be wasting anymore with them read more

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. I've been to this Bella Bridesmaids location several times for separate bridesmaid dress fittings. The employees are very friendly & knowledgeable. It's easy to make an appointment- either online or by calling. They have a large selection of styles, price points & brands to choose from too. read more

Every bride-to-be says they want their bridesmaids to wear their dresses again -- well, if you get your dresses from Bella Bridesmaid, you can actually have a chance of this happening! I was referred to Bella Bridesmaid by one of my friends -- I'm glad she told me about this place! The store is by appointment only, so make sure you have an appointment before you go -- it is really easy to make appointments via their website. When I made my appointment online it was really easy! This store is located in the shopping center with Straub's and Starbucks at Mason and Clayton. The store is a cute little place that is well laid out -- simple, yet elegant. I went there with my two sisters, who will also be my only two bridesmaids for my wedding. We were greeted by the cheerful and really nice owner, Carrie. She started off our appointment by walking us through the different designers she had, and also let us know what "options" we have for each designer - for example if their long dresses could come short, or what types of fabric or colors we can get them in. I was impressed with the amount of different types of dresses there were in the store, and many that were good quality and a good price. Carrie was helpful with letting us know about the dresses -- she really knew her stuff too, which helps. She also was great about letting us go and pick our own dresses rather than some places that try to push certain (read: expensive) dresses on you. She was very up-front about the prices, too. We were choosing between two dresses and she let us know how much they cost -- I thought this was really great because bridesmaid dresses can be quite expensive, and I think money does matter to most people! We went to another bridal boutique after this one, and about 5 minutes into our other appointment, we knew we wanted to walk out and just get the dresses we saw at Bella. The styles at Bella were a lot more modern, whereas the other place (and most other places) have too many "typical" bridesmaid dresses that will never work as a regular non-bridesmaid dress. It was a hard decision, but we ended up going with a dress from Priscilla of Boston, and it was only $200 for a beautiful LONG dress. Score! They can ship the dress to you too, so if your bridesmaids are out of town, no problem! So, save yourself some stress and don't bother with going to other boutiques to get your bridesmaid dresses -- go to Bella Bridesmaid and you'll find your bridesmaid dress! read more

I have had nothing but great experiences with the staff at Bella Bridesmaids. Countless friends of mine have used Carrie and her great staff for their weddings, so when it was time to choose my bridesmaids dresses, there wasn't a question in my mind of where to get them from. This store has the BEST selection of the best designers, with lots of varying price points! My girls are going to look gorgeous on the big day, and it's all thanks to Bella! read more

Their website says they can accept walk ins. We stopped by because we were in the area hoping to take a look around, not necessarily try on dresses. When we entered the store, the lady asked what she could do to help, but she didn't sound very helpful. We said we didn't have an appointment but were hoping to look around since I am only in town for today, and their only answer was we can schedule something. They also said they have a shop in Denver, but my sister THE BRIDE lives in St. Louis. So why would I go shopping for a bridesmaid dress without her there? Super turned off. Don't think we will even give this place a second chance. Too bad, my sister has TEN bridesmaids. read more

I do not recommend this place! The staff was friendly. But, they did a terrible job sizing!!!! They seemed rush even though I had an appointment already booked. The dress I received was way to big!!! They say I can't return it back to get a smaller size. Now I have to spend more than I did on the dress for alterations. If I was sized correctly I wouldn't have to take in the whole top of the dress!!! read more

I got measured for a bridesmaids dress in January this year, found out I was pregnant in March. When I ordered my dress (I was told I had to order in March) they told me to order 2 dress sizes bigger than what they measured me at. I know nothing about dresses so I trusted them. They knew I'd be 7 months pregnant in this wedding that I was buying the dress for. I got the dress and it was already too small and they wouldn't do anything about it. David's Bridal on the other hand, exchanged my wedding dress free of charge, did a rush hemm and didn't charge me a rush fee. read more

I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about Carrie and Bella Bridesmaids. I had an appointment with my MOH on a Wednesday. We arrived to an empty store where Carrie gave us her undivided attention. She listened to our wants and pulled dresses that she thought my MOH may like, but also let my MOH dig through the racks a bit herself. My MOH had tried on a number of dresses at other stores, but never really loved any of them. She tried on 3 with Carrie and decided almost immediately. I'm thanking Carrie for this as she helped to point out which dresses were more flattering for her figure. Last, I was beyond ecstatic about Bella's prices. A number of the bridal stores we had been in charged $30-$40 extra for anything over a size 18. Bella does NOT has ridiculous up-charges like this....and I appreciate that! read more

Best assortment of dresses, best colors, best price points, best bridesmaids shop PERIOD. You really do not need to look further than Bella Bridesmaid in Clayton when looking for your bridesmaids dresses. I made an appointment and went with one of my nine bridesmaids. We picked out three different styles of the same dress brand, and then my bridesmaids in other cities were able to go into their local BB stores and try on the dresses, chose the style that looked best on them, and then send their order back to Carrie at the Clayton location. Carrie is an amazing consultant, and was completely open to my suggestions and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. My bridesmaids are all SO excited to get their dresses delivered, and I must say I am too! I'm already scheming a way that I can borrow one for my own use, maybe a future wedding that I'm just attending? Bottom line, Bella has every style of dress you could ever want, every color, fabric, price point, and fantastic customer service as well. You can't go wrong! read more

Wouldn't recommend at all. There are so many more convenient ways of ordering dresses these days and the staff is extremely rude.

Our experience with Bella Bridesmaid & Carrie could not have been better! I had 7 bridesmaids and she knew everyone's names from the first time they met. We purchased LulaKate dresses of varying styles and Carrie had the best recommendations for each girl, inlcuding my pregnant sister. When one of the dresses was made wrong, both LulaKate and Carrie @ Bella went above and beyond to make it right. I even bought my rehearsal dinner dress here! I love this store! read more

I can't say enough good things about Carrie the owner of Bella Bridesmaid's. I had ordered a bridesmaid's dress from a different online retailer and it never came! Two weeks before the wedding I called nearly every store from around the country that carried Lela Rose bridesmaid's dresses. I made my 20th phone call to Bella Bridesmaid's in St. Louis and talked with Carrie. They didn't have that exact dress in stock, but Carrie called and asked the designer if they could have the dress rush made for me. When the designer said no, she thought of the idea of ordering the exact fabric for the dress so that I could have a different dress made. She continued to persue this option, and got in contact with someone who had the fabric overnighted from the factory. I got it in time to have a seamstress make the dress from scratch for me using the same fabric. The dress turned out great. You can see more pictures and read more about it on my blog at this link: http://livingeasilyinspired.blogspot.com/2011/07/hepkers.html Carrie's customer service went above and beyond what 20 other bridal stores from al around the country could produce. Even though I'm in Omaha, Nebraska, if I ever need a bridesmaid's dress again, I'm calling Carrie! Thanks again! Amanda read more

I'm not sure if most bridal shops are like this, but I found this store to be nothing more than a place to display dresses and fabrics. While there they will take your measurements, but you are responsible for using the measurements to order your own dress online. They do not do alterations and have a no return & no exchange policy. I understand the dress we ordered was custom which doesn't make for easy exchanges, but in my opinion the measurements taken in the store were not accurate. I was told a size, mentioned I don't like tight fitting dresses, so they suggested going a size up. Got my dress and it's still tight even though I ordered a full size larger than the "measurements" called for. Another bridesmaid in our party also had measurements taken there. She ordered the dress according to the dress manufactures size guidelines and when she received it she could not even zip it up. When we spoke with the store about our concerns they suggested we have alterations to take the dress out by ordering a $25 yard of fabric or order a new dress for an additional $150 (original dress was $300+). When we went to the seamstress to have the dress taken out she measured her 3 inches larger than the original measurements and two inches larger than those taken at Bella Bridesmaid that same day. I don't know why that would be, but considering the dress didn't fit I'm inclined to believe the seamstresses measurements were correct. In the end we are paying for mistakes I believe Bella Bridesmaid made. The lack of assistance at the store really surprised me and in the end I don't know what they provide other than a showcase for the dresses. I would not recommend going there, but if you're bride chooses them have measurements verified elsewhere before ordering your dress. read more
