This location is a solid, just ok. My maid of honor needed to pick out her bridesmaid dress. She was able to request a same day appointment online. Staff, I would say, were a solid 5/5. They were friendly and helpful. Since we arrived a little early for our appointment, they showed us where the dresses were and told us they would help us soon. They also came to check on us as my friend was trying on her dresses. Dresses were somewhat sorted by style. The color guide was in front of the dresses to show what colors were available by type of fabric. Then, our associate provided us with a fitting room to try on. My maid of honor is the type where she knows what she likes almost immediately. She went with the first dress she tried on! Now, this is where this location is sorta outdated. The carpet, lighting, and paint were dingy and dull. Other locations had ipads to show us what the dress would look like in color and size. They had one cash register to ring up all of the guests. Staff had to go to multiple screens to put in the order and then the shipping information. (As this location is about 40 minutes away from my friend). Great service, ok location. read more

I was surprised at how few reviews there were and the bad reviews. But they stated they had a large variety so I wanted to give them a chance! I don't do this often I swear, but my experiencES haven't been the best, meaning I gave it more than a couple chances because I know people have off days or whatever. Their customer service lacked majorly, prom or wedding is suppose to be a magical experience and this was not it at all. There as been on associate that was ever helpful and if it wasn't for her I probably would have chose to go else where or take my luck and order online. When my daughter was shopping for dress, they just pointed where to look. They don't really care to size anyone they just ask what do you think you are. When I was dress shopping for a bridesmaid's dress, they were dead, one other customer about to leave, the bride was with me and just so we could get out of there she was the one grabbing dresses that were similar or close to what we chose. So when we realized id have to go up a couple sizes to get an idea and just order real size from the front , she legit handed the clips to pin dress back, to the bride to do. Like we've ever done it before. Luckily we're not complete airheads and figured it out. Their system is so old they can never find my name, never ever, the younger petite manager has just gave me the discount after me showing it from my phone. The bride has the same issue, they had several "accounts" same name and everything for no reason. The dress was suppose to be under my name and my name was suppose to be under the brides name as a bridesmaid. Ha nope. The regular cash register person is entirely rude, she'll try to have a conversation or walk off in mid sentence, while asking you your info then say "what"100times. She tried to enter random numbers for measurements (you have to have measurements to order specific dress and color) the manager had to stop what she was doing to come and do it because the lady at the cash register wasn't. read more

Vivian and the bridal alterations manager was incredible. She took her time, was so encouraging and even more enthusiastic. She listened to my needs as well as every other VERY OPINIONATED persons ideas in my group and helped find the PERFECT one!! This was her first time helping with bridal try on and she was perfect!! I didn't have high hopes but this exceeded any expectation I'd of imagined. I do suggest going on a weekday or Sunday if you're a serious shopper and have everyone you want to be there with you. Saturday I don't feel they are staffed enough for a light and leisure experience. So only go on a Saturday if you're looking to try on specific dresses or just to get an idea of what you like but plan to come back a different day and dive in. read more

David's Bridal in Fairview Heights has ABSOLUTELY no idea what they're doing when it comes to shipping or booking an appropriate amount of appointments to keep up with their help. First, upon arrival to our appointment there were not many customers other than us. But as we got a few minutes in to picking out our bridesmaid dresses more and more people started pouring in the store. The staff were not able to help every party as needed. We were left alone for the majority of our appointment without much help. They had booked too many appointments to help everyone there. Not to mention the fact that they put another party right on top of us where we were coming in and out of the changing rooms. Causing problems for not only us but the other separate party as well. Secondly, at the end of the appointment our 'consultant' asked us to give her a 5 star review. I'm sorry but NO, you do not ask someone to give you a "give 5 star review". You ask for a review. I'm not giving you a 5 star review when you first of all don't deserve one and second of all because you SPECIFICALLY asked for 5 stars. That is unprofessional. The bride and her mother had to do all the dress running for us bridesmaids. When that SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!! Next, 6 bridesmaids in our wedding party have recently experienced issues with shipping our dresses. All of us bridesmaids were supposed to get our dresses shipped to our houses (we all live at least 1.5 hours away from Davids bridal and prefer not to take an unnecessary trip that far with gas being so high). We received individual notices that our dresses had been shipped to the store and were awaiting pickup. We all received these notices within days/weeks of each other. We then call the store individually over the course of a few days/weeks to ship the dresses to our houses. However, any time one of us called we were put on hold. After being taken off hold, we then were told we would be called back later. Some of us didn't receive calls back until 6 hours later and some of us never did receive a call back. So not only did we all experience issues with shipping (6 different times), we also were made to wait hours for a callback that some of us didn't receive. We had to take the initiative ourselves to take care of matters that should have NEVER occurred in the first place. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

Sales staff is pushy. Very pushy. Tried on 3 dresses and chose my dress. Before I knew it, they were adding an $80 bra that didn't fit properly, a slip, and a hair piece.. none of which I agreed to. We wont even talk about the extra however much they charge for the garment bag (knowing you arent gonna take it home without one).. I never got a chance to fully inspect my dress, and hesitated to sign the "all sales final" receipt. . . But here we are. That k goodness I have a great seamstress in line for alterations. Hopefully there is no other problems with the dress.. the bridesmaid dresses are nearly all the same style with minimal changes amongst them. The styles in stock are very limited, so be aware when shopping. Pre pay for them to order then hope for the best...because...again... all sales final. Sure hope they measured correct! read more

(Truth be told, I didn't know you needed one.) But they gave me excellent service. I bought my wedding gown, slip, and veil. They recommended things that were perfect. They were honest and very kind. In my daughter's wedding story, this was the place for the bridesmaids' dresses and the bride's reception dress. I didn't know that it was such a thing to have a dress to wear after THE dress. But, since the wedding ceremony dress was a family heirloom, the price of the reception dress + the price of altering both dresses by a local seamstress seemed reasonable. Could not be happier with the experience I had. Paula was patient and kind and was able to make me feel at ease even though I tend to be the anxious and pessimistic type. I was taken for my appointment on time and Paula produced my "favorites" list from davidsbridal.com to use as a starting point for pulling dresses. She provided a large variety of dresses for me to try on, with varying styles and price points and even helped me get in and out of the dresses since I was alone. And though I know it's their job to try to get you to buy extras like accessories, she did a fine job complimenting my personal style while also encouraging me to try different things. I know shopping experiences can vary depending on the people you get to work with, so I would recommend to ask for Paula if you can. Really aweful! First I paid off dress and daughter had a fitting 2 days later. They would not hold dress 2 days! I had to pick it up and take it back for fitting hmmm 45 min drive each way. I would not have used David's Bridal if all my bridesmaids lived all in one place. Unfortunately they were all over the country and David's bridal was the only store in all states. First, they forgot to add my shoes to the order. Even though I specifically remember giving them the shoes I wanted to purchase. Second, once I realized this mistake and ordered a pair of shoes, we picked out the color i wanted but I had to come back later to have them dyed. I come back and they have no idea what I'm talking about and I had to choose a color again (There are 6 different shades of ivory) Third, one of my bridesmaid dresses came in with an oil stain so it had to be returned. Fourth, one of the flower girl dresses was defected and tried telling my mother in law it was okay and refused to fix it. When she took it to another seamstress she agreed that it was defective. 5th two of my bridesmaids shoes were dyed incorrectly. Fortunately my NY bridesmaid sent her shoes to us (they were correctly dyed) and the maids who got theirs dyed in Fairview could tell theirs were wrong and get it fixed days before the wedding. All over bad service and quality! I would never used if I had to do it all over again. And after all my trouble and telling them everything. Let me start off by saying, "I knew better". I've only ever heard horror stories about this place from several brides, bridesmaids & other wedding party members. Well, my daughter was excited to go prom dress shopping & this is our only local place. Of course she fell in love with a dress. After looking at a couple other places, she was still in love with the dress. I caved & decided we'd get her dress here. I was told they had to order it. We had to pay the full amount up front since it was a "special order". We were told it would be in around April 9th, 2 months, but may be in sooner. We were called the next week & told the dress came in. WOW, that was quick!! It was the original dress she tried on, not a special order!! I was then lied to & told they got it from another shop & they always get their dresses from one of their other shops. BS, same dress. The hook on it was loose & it had the same problems the original dress had. I asked if they would steam it since obviously several girls had tried it on. Of course they will, for $15. Personally I think if you buy a dress from there, they should steam it for free since they are the ones cramming them into the racks. I called Cust. service to complain. They called back & told me to take the dress back to the store so their manager could look at it. Funny, it was still at the store. Called the manager Liz & explained that to her & explained my frustration. I Also mentioned that I could have used their layaway program if it wasn't being special ordered. She just spoke in circles!! Finally went to look at the dress. Told Liz we'd take it (because my daughter loved it & I couldn't get another one). She bagged it & said thank you. I asked about the money back for steaming it or the discount (10%) she mentioned on the phone. She said that's only if we aren't happy with it. Of course I'm not happy, if I pay full price, I want a new dress!! Got the 10% off only. STILL NOT HAPPY with the end result!!! So based on the majority of the reviews being negative, I'm guessing that maybe this David's Bridal location has either had a change in staffing, some sort of training on better customer service, or maybe I've just been really lucky. I first went to David's Bridal in early March this year to look for my wedding dress. Upon my arrival, I was asked if I had an appointment. I didn't make an appointment, because 1. I didn't know they recommend one, and 2. I thought I could just browse. Since I did not have an appointment, I was immediately told that they were short 2 workers that day and that I may have to wait a bit for a consultant to work with me, in between her scheduled appointments. Then they told me to feel free to browse through what they had in stock on the racks. That didn't bother me at all, as I am the type that can't stand overzealous salespeople that stalk you while you're shopping, anyway. I tried on about 5 or 6 dresses that day, and for each one I had the same consultant there to help me with whatever I needed... she was great. When I got it narrowed down to my favorite 3 dresses, we made an appointment to come back later in the week so that I could check out other bridal shops in the Metro East area. My visit to the next three shops (in Collinsville and Edwardsville) was a bit depressing compared to the service I received and quality of dresses I tried on at David's Bridal, as the sales ladies seemed more interested in making a sale than in helping me to find "the one" (I'll post reviews to their respective sites at a later time). SO, three days later I was back at David's Bridal (for my scheduled appointment). The service was awesome, I tried on several more gowns and after some encouragement from my friends ended up finding "the one" in a fit-n-flare style I normally would not have considered even trying on. My ONLY complaint is that the consultant mistakenly (I'm guessing) ordered a size larger than what I tried on. Now, the dress I tried on was a bit big on me, as she'd had to clip it in a few places in the back, so I noticed the size difference right away when I looked at the receipt. She offered to correct it right then & there, but also stated that dresses "stretch" when being tried on by so many ladies. Since there was a ton of makeup stains inside that dress, I accepted the explanation. Well, when my dress finally came in a few weeks later (and earlier than they told me it would come in), it was much too big on me. A different consultant asked if I had lost weight (I hadn't), so I had to explain to her that they ordered the wrong size to begin with, so they took it back and ordered the correct size for me. Again, the second (correctly-sized) dress arrived earlier than they initially told me it would come in (I've had it over a week now, and wasn't supposed to get it until next week sometime). In between my three visits dealing with my wedding dress, I have been to this David's Bridal numerous times to shop for accessories & gifts, and each time have been met by courteous sales ladies that have never belittled or "looked down their noses" at me in any way, shape, or form, and nobody pressured me into buying anything. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the wrong size dress being ordered, even though in the long run that didn't matter anyway, since my wedding isn't until October and I already have my dress. P.S. I'd give them 5 stars in the bridesmaid dress category, mostly because of their large selection of in-stock plus-sized bridesmaid dresses that my Maid of Honor was able to try on. They've got more plus-sized bridesmaid dresses in stock than ANY of the other Metro East bridal shops (trust me, we've been to them ALL), and none of the sales ladies subjected my friend to the nasty level of snooty, condescending treatment that my friend had to endure at other shops (just for being overweight). I went to this David's Bridal to shop for a prom dress for my niece. I don't know what sort of training the stylists receive in customer service before they are actually serving customers but they come across as arrogant and condescending. They were insincere in their lame attempts at being helpful. My stylist kept running off to help the 1 other prom customer that she was assigned to and hiding and pretending to be busy smoothing hung gowns in her attempt to avoid me. At one point, when she realized the dress we were trying on had broken hooks and eyes, she just turned and walked away, not to help another customer...she just walked away in the middle of zipping the dress up. I took her place in assisting my niece in hooking up the dress to find it couldn't be hooked because it was broken. We waited 10 minutes for her to return...which I guess when we didn't just take the dress back off she finally did to tell us she had seen that the dress was broken (of course she had). I ended up purchasing a dress after 2 hours, that would have only taken 1 hour with a good stylist assisting us. I absolutely hate the fact that any of these employees made a commission off of the sale. I won't be returning to this David's Bridal. read more

My daughter went to David's under protest. She was in town for a short time, so we weren't able to get appointments at some of the other bridal boutiques. We were lucky to get an appointment early on the day. Rachel was her consultant. She listened carefully to my daughter's VERY SPECIFIC wants and needs. (40's style, long or 3/4 length sleeves, not stark white, fully covered back, and modest neckline) Even with those constraints, she was able to find 6-7 dresses in her size. My daughter wound up buying the first dress she tried on. It was like it had been made for her to her specifications. Rachel pinned my daughter's hair into an updo, so she could get the full bridal effect. She received excellent customer service. read more

Never ever will I shop at David's Bridal again. This past fall was a disaster for the wedding I was in. We all were lied to and told the dresses we had chosen would not be available if we didn't purchase THAT day, so in order to make sure the bride had the day she wanted (and what DB counts on) we bought our gowns and she bought hers. Well a year later some of us had gained and some lost. Luckily myself and the MOH stayed the same. The bride's dress needed to go up a size as well. She had no alterations and wanted to simply to an even exchange. The dress had remained in the packaging provided upon purchase so it was in perfect condition. We got to the store and explained and the only thing they DIDN'T say or insinuate was that my friends were a bunch if heifers who shouldn't have gained weight. No joke--they were THAT rude. They reluctantly found the bridal dress for my friend to try from off the rack. Problem is it had several snags, a small ink stain and a broken clasp above the zipper. They didn't understand why she didn't want it. At this point they pretty much shrugged it off as if she was just stuck with a dress that didn't fit. Now yes, everyone should've watched what they had done in those 12 months. However, we would never have purchased those dresses 12 mos out if we hadn't been blatantly lied to. We realized we were given a line of BS when we went online a few months after purchase..and then again a few months later...aaaaand again the week we realized we needed to exchange some dresses. Funny, that same dress was still available in every size online and in at least 4-5 sizes in this store. We eventually Googled other locations and asked them to call the St. Peters store. They had what we needed, and I'll be reviewing them, too. I don't plan to shop at DB for anything, but if I'm to recommend a location, DEFINITELY make the drive to St. Peters. It's worth very minute of drive time! Fairview? Not so much. They can keep their rude, pushy, dishonest sales people. read more

On June 26th, 2015 we took my wedding dress to David's Bridal to have them clean and preserve it. A few weeks later we received the dress and it was not up to standards as the dress was bunched up in the box, paper was hanging down covering part of the dress, and the belt was out of place. We called the company that David'd Bridal outsources to, Memories Gown Preservation, on July 21st and they assured us they would send us a mailing slip so we could return the dress to have it fixed. On July 30th we still had not received the slip and the Memories company was not answering the phone, so I called David's Bridal and spoke to the manager Jennifer. She said that because they send the dress away to be cleaned and preserved, it wasn't their problem and they couldn't do anything about it. I reminded her that David'd Bridal is the one who sent my dress to this company and that we paid them directly so they should be the ones taking care of it. She said there was nothing they could do. It cost $205.80 to have the dress cleaned and preserved. Today, on August 3rd, I contacted the Memories company again and finally reached someone. She was supposed to send me another slip via email right then and I have yet to receive it. We decided to pull the dress out of the box to inspect it and the dress is ruined. The bow completely fell off as it was only attached by a single thread. The belt that was supposed to be attached to the dress is unattached and sagging on the right side and the entire lace dress is snagged all over (which it was not snagged at all when we took it in.) This dress cost us almost $2,000 and now it is completely ruined. We keep getting the run around from both companies and neither seem to want to resolve the issue. The Memories Gown Preservation company has a website that won't work and they never answer their phone. David's Bridal, who sent my dress to the sham company, won't do anything about it even though they claim to trust and back up their work. read more

I went to this David's Bridal in January after I got engaged. I let my stylist, Val, know that I was not planning on purchasing a dress that day because it was my first time trying on wedding dresses and I just wanted to start getting an idea of what looked good on me. She didn't ask what I liked or what my wedding was like. I've worked at David's Bridal and the first thing we learned in training was taking measurements to properly fit the brides in the right sizes, find out about their wedding, and get to personally know the bride. I mean trying on wedding dresses is a big deal and important to the bride so as a stylist you should understand that you are part of an important day. Val didn't do any of those. She just took my favorites list and let me know the store didn't have half of the dresses I had favorited. I tried on some dresses and was very excited and was having a great time with my mom and my aunt. I found a dress I really liked but explained to Val that it was too early in my engagement to make a commitment to a dress yet. She continued to push me to try and buy the dress even though I let her know at the beginning of the appointment that I wouldn't be buying today. Her mood instantly changed. I asked her if she could add all of the things I had tried on to my favorites list and that I would come back to her when it was closer to time. She said she would but then just rudely walked off. It was very very obvious that she was pissed at me for not purchasing a dress. My mom told me she would buy me some other little things that day (wedding planning book, bride tote bag, nail polish) and Val was nowhere to be found to help us check out. The store manager, who wasn't much friendlier, had to help us check out. And now I've decided that I'm ready to buy my dress and none of the items I tried on that day are on my favorites list that I asked to be added. I remember the dress but now the veil, headpiece, and belt are a mystery. I get it that it can be frustrating working for commission and having a client who doesn't want to buy anything. But that doesn't mean that anyone should be completely ignored or treated rudely because they aren't ready to commit yet. A wedding dress is a big commitment and no one should be pressured to buy if they have any questions or worries. Although I loved the dress I tried on in the store, there is no way I will return to purchase that dress. I thought I could look past the behavior of the stylist, but failing to add my favorites so I can buy a dress later on is not okay. Safe to say I will not return to this store. read more

We made an appointment as requested and when we showed up and met our consultant, Rachel, the bride was unsure as to what style she wanted. This was the first time she was trying on dresses for her 2018 wedding. At first Rachel was ok, but that quickly changed. She began to get more and more rude. Telling the bride that she didn't know what she wanted even when she was showing her a dress that she did really like at another store. Then the bridesmaids were also trying on dresses and Rachel quickly got frustrated with our group. She asked the bride if we were there to try on wedding dresses or bridesmaids dresses. We did not know that making an appointment only allowed us to only do one or the other. Then Rachel told the bride that we were running over our appointment time. Again, we didn't know that there was a time limit on our appointment. That was not communicated to us when the appointment was made or when arrived. As the bride was trying on accessories and changing her mind you could tell that Rachel was not happy with her being indecisive. When we left there was no one else in the store but us and it was over an hour before they closed, so I'm not sure why Rachel was so concerned about us being over our time. If she had another appointment show up and were waiting I would understand. We will not be back to this business.
