Visited this restaurant shortly after it opened. The owner/chef is a graduate of the high school I used to teach at, so I knew I had to support. I have had the low-carb smoked Gouda burger and several pizzas here and both were really good. My favorites are the White Thunder and Cloud 9 pizzas. Over the years, the wait time has improved. Their pizzas are now available in local Piggly Wiggly stores. They are even available in some local systems as a healthier option for student lunches. I also read an article about the owner and how, after being diagnosed with diabetes, decided to take back his health by changing his diet and he wanted to share his recipes with the community. Okay so after so many people telling me to go try this place I finally had the chance to do so today. We traveled over to Hueytown today and ate at a restaurant known as Bell Peppers. Even got to meet the owner and everything. He was very nice and even made our orders for us. So here's a bit about this place. It's low carb friendly, keto friendly, and its a diabetics paradise. The owner if I'm not mistaken is a diabetic himself (Tony made a friend). Everything there was made fresh and was super delicious. The pizza was my favorite and if no one told you, you would never know that the pepperoni, sausage, and bacon on the pizza was all Turkey meat. I was very happy to leave this black owned restaurant not feeling like I shouldn't have eaten this. The inside was very clean and the food is top quality. You get what you pay for. Last night was my first time in Hueytown. I had to use GPS to find the restaurant, but at least now I know where it is located. I had to try out this low carb restaurant! When we walked in, no other customers were there so we decided to dine in so we could eat the food fresh. The man at the register (who I believe was the owner) greeted us and asked how we found out about his place. I told him I had seen reviews on Yelp. He said that was the first time he'd heard that and he thanked us for trying them out. He even turned a kid friendly movie on the tv so we could have something to watch as we ate. They serve breakfast all day so my kids ordered the cinnamon roll waffles. They also got turkey bacon and sausage. My husband and I shared a philly style pizza. We all tried their special made low carb juice as well. The food was brought out to us hot. Everything was great! My kids really liked that juice. The menu is extensive. I have been waiting for this keto/low carb restaurant to open for quite awhile. I'm excited that it is now open and close to me. The grand opening was on Saturday, July 11, 2020. I tried the restaurant today (08/01/20) with my family of 4. I pray that Anthony Clemons is very successful and God blesses him to be able franchise this business. We ordered 4 items. The owner is a stud. He makes such great food my wife, my son and I eagerly await our next visit. His food is such that it is filling, delicious and does not make you feel bloated when you leave. His drinks that he makes, are a refreshing treat in of themselves. The current restaurant is small but it makes a lasting impact. The city of Hueytown is privileged to have such a great restaurant. I have been waiting to try to place since it opened in early July. Big crowds and long wait times kept me away until now. I went on a Friday afternoon around 3pm and the restaurant was empty. I was literally the only customer there. Two other customers came later. My guess is they had just finished the lunch crowd. I decided to order several things from the menu. I ordered the smoked Gouda burger, Cloud 9 pizza, cinnamon roll waffle, and 2 low carb brownies. I ordered the keto/gluten free bun with my burger, which had a $2.49 upcharge. The service was good. The food is made to order so I waited about 25 minutes or so for it to be prepared. Everything was hot when I received it. The burger and toppings were good. I didn't love the texture or taste of the keto bun. But, the restaurant also offers a bun that has 15 carbs. It might be better. The same is true for the pizza. The toppings were good, but I wasn't crazy about the texture and taste of the crust. I think it's something you have to get use to if you are on a low carb diet. The cinnamon roll waffle was sweet and very tasty. It was more of a dessert for me. I did notice an aftertaste, but I still enjoyed it. Lastly, the brownies were okay. It's a nice low carb substitute if you're craving a brownie. Overall, my experience was good. I'm glad I tried it. It's a little pricey for what you get but definitely worth a try.
