My mother spent the last 2 1/2 years of her life under the care of SOC and their very competent staff. I could not be happier to have provided my mother with the level of attention and compassion they give to all their clients. I had previously had my mother in a larger facility with a very high patient to staff ratio and was very disappointed in the level of care she was receiving. Moving her to a board and care facility, which I had never heard of before, turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. My mother was always taken very well well care of as their low client to staff ratio provides for much more attention to detail and personalized care. The manager Maria Williams is a particularly gifted person with decades of experience. She kept a constant eye on my mother and communicated with me regularly and very openly about the progression of her disease. She also took time to make sure that I was informed and Ok person ally during this time. She not only takes care of your loved ones, she also take care of you. The owners Martha and Bruce were always incredibly helpful with logistics around moving and anything else that might come up. If I ever had an issue they were always there to help me solve the problem. If you've never considered a board and care facility before I would highly recommend reaching out to SOC. Their facilities are not only beautifully appointed they're well-maintained, they take care of almost every detail you will encounter.

I could register a claim under a section of the business and professions code which would trigger treble damages for failure to pay. I sent the required letter to the proprietor, and lo and behold a cashiers check was delivered to my Mom and it did not bounce when cashed. It took a lot of work to get this money back. You should just be aware if your loved one stays in a care facility with monthly rates and they pass away, you are entitled to a refund for the unused portion of the month that they were not there to be cared for.

My mother had been a nurse, and she loved that Želka took her vitals daily, and took her to the doctor, managing multiple medications and conditions with her usual grace and intelligence. Mom's every need, was met with warmth, humor and home-cooked meals, made from scratch to Mom's taste. The residents there are super nice and we talked to each of them to make sure they enjoyed being there and they definitely did. The place is clean, new and current and the staff is so friendly, professional and responsive. The food is homemade, fresh everyday. This is a family owned well run business and it's apparent that the owner and his family cares for the residents. My Mom already told me multiple times how different family owners spent time with her just talking with her. To me that's above and beyond the call of duty, and she loves it there. The staff knew him so well that they could tell when something was off before anyone else could. They noticed changes in his mood, his energy, even when his oxygen levels seemed low or he just needed connection or support. More than once, they reached out to me simply because they knew my dad. That level of attentiveness and humanity cannot be taught. It comes from people who truly care. My dad participated in everything he possibly could; bingo, karaoke, bowling, crafts, physical therapy, social events and Walnut House gave him community, dignity, purpose, and joy during a stage of life that can otherwise feel very isolating for seniors. Honestly, he got more out of the daily encouragement and movement from the Walnut House activities and staff than he did from many outside services. Over the years, we also watched the facility continue to improve, renovate, and invest in the residents and environment, which we deeply appreciated. What meant the most to our family, though, was how much they loved my father through the very end of his life. After he passed, Walnut House helped host a memorial so that both staff and the friends he made there could say goodbye to him together. My mom was only there a few days when she declared she had found her "forever home." Our family found communication with Walnut House to be excellent. As a family member who spent a great deal of time at the facility, I had the opportunity to get to know many of the caregivers, staff members, residents, and families. The facility is frequently cleaned and they provide lots of activities. The staff is kind and the Executive Director is amazing. She really tries to meet family needs with empathy. The food is better than you would expect and I have lunch here regularly with my mother in law. The central courtyard and outside gardens are well kept and peaceful. My wife has made friends with others dealing with their parents in memory care and it has truly been a community.

We moved our elderly dad with moderate to advanced dementia to here (Lidia's house) in September…read more2017, from a memory care RCFE place in Manteca, to save money (this is cheaper than what you'd pay for an RCFE in Manteca or in the Sacramento area). Lidia was absolutely wonderful in taking care of our dad's many needs, and stuck with us during some difficult times when he was active at night and falling and injuring himself to the extent that he had to go to the ER by ambulance, which she quickly called thank goodness. My sister has especially high standards, and Lidia exceeds them, so we're so glad that when our dad needed hospice, Lidia received another hospice waiver at our request and wad therefore able to receive him back from the hospital. It's a nice clean and quiet, orderly home, and we're so blessed that we found her back in September. Highly recommended! He was very comfortable there and the nurses, especially Maria, took care of him like he was family. He always told me how good the food was and he was always happy when I stopped by to visit.
