Very quick turnaround and able to fix some very challenging issues. I brought in a lock from a vintage cedar hopechest. They told me the lock used obsolete parts. However, they figured it out and made a key to fit! Even more challenging was a disassembled lock for the door on a very old German made sideboard for which I had no key. I had spent alot of time trying to figure out how to reassemble this lock (that I disassembled myself to be truthful). They figured it out very quickly and gave it back to me with a key that worked! Bob and his staff are amazing. I took my motorcycle down to have a key made last summer and not only are his staff some of the most nice people you'd ever meet, Bob himself worried over this key and its fit like he wouldn't be satisfied until it turned in the ignition just by my thinking about it. I thought it turned fine, he went and made three different keys until HE was satisfied that it did...before lubricating both the ignition and compartment locks to make dang sure everything was optimal. Went in to get an extra key cut and left with a key that was better than the original and an ignition that turned more smoothly than it ever had. For like twelve bucks. On my way home from a quick errand in downtown Belfair, I spotted a large dog roaming the neighborhood on Santa Maria which is about 4 blocks from my home. I pulled over and called to him and he came to me immediately, wagging his tail and grinning in that 'big dog goofey way'. His owner pulled up and I assisted in coaxing Rebel into his vehicle. A good deed is done, right? Not if you unknowingly lock your keys in your car while this is going on. The owner of Rebel said he'd come back with a slim jim and even if he couldn't find one, he'd return to let me know. This didn't happen and I eventually gave up waiting. Instead, I walked home to grab my phone and collect the number for Belfair Bob. I returned to the scene via a ride from my wonderful neighbors Jay Sager and his daughter Meghan and less than twenty minutes later up pulls Belfair Bob. Professional, courteous, good sense of humor and respectful, (qualities that are no longer an 'automatic'), are all found in Bob's demeanor. My car was opened without a single speck of dust damaged in less than 10 minutes. At the same time that Bob was assisting me, his son, (also a local locksmith), was down at the Theler Center helping a person whose child was locked in a vehicle. I can't imagine the panic felt in that scenario. This is being written at length because I owe Bob a tremendous thank you. Because of the circumstances surrounding my situation, I wasn't charged. Turns out Bob is a big ol dog lover too and rolls around with his own dog tucked comfortably into a huge bed with a secured bowl of water next to him. He's a beautiful Bouvier des Flandres named Oliver and also an absolute sweetheart. I hesitated about sharing this part, Bob waving off a fee because I worried about his generous nature being taken advantage of. This was shared with Bob, and his response was to tell me about his son handling the vehicle locked with a child inside, finishing off by saying, "there's gonna be a few today". I called to ask for help with a key replacement. I spoke to a gentleman (he didn't say his name), and tried to explain what kind of key fob I had. The man then asked if i had a check engine light on and thats why my auto start wasnt working. I tried to explain that its never worked. I purchased the car new and it was never programmed for auto-start. He didnt believe me and proceeded to tell me that my check engine light was the problem. The actual problem is that the buttons fell off because the keys are made like crap in the first place, not because something isn't working. He said he could replace and re-key it my car for $275. I told him that I have the replacement shell, but I just can't seem to get the old key apart and that was what i needed help with. He told me they "don't do that" and ended the call. Terrible customer service. Maybe don't be a jerk to people and actually listen to what they say. I won't be back and I will be telling everyone I know to stay away. read more

Extremely un friendly and un professional, only reliable because hes the only lock smith between Bremerton and Shelton. Asked for a new key to be made for my vehicle and was forcing me to buy two keys at over $900 for a "complete reset" when one key is sufficient.
