Bel Islands Home Improvement has done several projects at our historical 200-year-old house on the Cape, with new roofs, new siding (both cedar clapboard and shakes) on the house and multiple outbuildings. Andrei and his crew operated like a well coached team, perfectly coordinated and equipped for each phase, demolition of old roofing and siding, repair of framing underneath, underlayment, flashing, drip edges, gutters and exterior trim. Andrei had provided detailed descriptions of the work to be performed, photographing each element prior to beginning each task. Photos were taken throughout the process to document the job from beginning to end, resulting in some dramatic before-and-after photos for our own albums. Along the way certain questions arose such as whether to add decorative exterior moulding for which additional costs and tradeoff were discussed. We agreed to Andrei's tasteful suggestions, and continue to enjoy the additional detail. Upon completion of each project, the Bel Islands crew leaves no trace of construction debris, using magnetic rollers to extract any stray nails from patio, grass and even mulched areas. All wood and used construction materials were hauled away promptly and without even a hint of sawdust, having been carefully vacuumed wherever it had overdrifted the tarps. Beyond mere excellence in workmanship, they have continually proven to be punctual, reliable, competitively priced and a pleasure to work with. Scott L, West Barnstable read more

Over the years living on the Cape I've found it difficult to find responsive, reliable and capable contractors. I know that they are out there but it always felt like it was hush hush and through who you knew. I was happily surprised when I met Andrei. He picked up the phone right away, scheduled a time to meet, landed right on time, and took the time to walk through all of the possibilities and what he saw for our deck project. He listened carefully to our concerns on budget, time and look and kept us on track even when we got sidetracked! Thanks Andrei! He was excellent on accessing need for both the project and the client and always worked to improve every aspect of the build mindfully and with full communication. His team of builders led by his foreman, Ivan, were focused, kind and meticulous in their leaving their workspace each day pristine. They exhibited great pride in their work and we were left with a beautiful and safe space that we enjoy! I highly recommend this company. You will be amazed. read more

This review is about the excellent work and professional service of Andre Yarmalovich and the team at Bel Islands Home Improvement. When you find a professional you can trust, someone who does quality work, and someone who assembles a team you can count on, then when it comes to deciding who to call each time you need home improvement services becomes very easy. We have found that professional in Andrei and Bel Islands. He is responsive, he is honest, he is helpful, and he takes pride in his work and his team. We asked Andrei to replace our roof two years ago. He and the team did a great job. This year it was trim, window frames and sills, and related repairs. Andrei came to the house, talked over the job, listened to what we wanted, made some suggestions, developed a plan, and got it done on time and on budget. The cost was reasonable and I know the work will last because his work on our roof has lasted. We look forward to the next project. -- Jim Durning read more

We hired Bel Islands Home Improvement to strip off the existing roof and replace/recoat it. The roof had two distinct sections: a large section of conventional asphalt shingles and a smaller section of rolled asphalt roofing. The scope of the large section included stripping the old shingles and replacing with subroofing and new asphalt shingles. Andrie Yamalovitch brought in a crew and completed those tasks in one day. The rolled roof was deemed to be in decent shape, and could accept a rubberized coating. Andrei returned a few months later to complete that task. Note that since it was a liquid product it was necessary to wait until the warmer months. Overall, Bel Islands Home Improvement proceeded with the project in a professional and courteous manner and was a pleasure to deal with. All at a fair price. I would recommend Bel Islands Home Improvement for any roofing project. read more

Bel Islands did excellent work on my cottage in Buzzards Bay. They installed new windows, cedar shingles, Azek trim, gutters, and even repaired some hidden damage at a reasonable cost considering the current price of materials. Andrei was always a pleasant person to deal with, I originally was calling about a leaky window I wanted replaced and he was more than willing to give me multiple quotes on different stages of repairs I could have done at my request, with no pressure whatsoever. During the job he kept me informed of any hiccups in the process, and the solutions he had already come up with to remedy them. The crew was very detail oriented and hard working. My house underwent a complete transformation and I'm very pleased with the outcome, I would definitely recommend Bel Islands Home Improvement. read more

Andrei and Bel Islands were quick but thorough throughout the process of replacing the roof on our historic Cape Cod home, from the proposal to permitting and historic approval to stripping and installation to cleanup. The actual labor was completed start-to-finish in 12 hours, with a seven-person hard-working crew. The proposal was competitive - not the lowest nor the highest, specific in detail, and there were no hidden surprises. The three references I called were glowing. Andrei offered sound advice for choosing the right type of roof and color. There was no damage to structure or vegetation. Cleanup was thorough, and included rolling a magnetic sweeper over the property to collect the inevitable stray nails. We couldn't recommend more highly. read more

5 Stars - Excellent Service and Quality Workmanship! I contacted Andrei at Bel Island Home Improvement regarding a ridge vent issue on my property, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the outset, Andrei was extremely responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. His pricing was fair and reasonable, but what impressed me most was the quality of his workmanship. He was efficient, clearly knew his craft, and took pride in delivering a job well done. It's refreshing to find a contractor who combines expertise, reliability, and fair pricing with such high standards. I highly recommend Bel Island Home Improvement for any home improvement needs. Speaking from my years of experience as a Residential Construction General Contractor, Bel Island Home Improvements is by far superior to the numerous contractors who I've hired in the past. Bel Islands was recommended to me to repair roof, ceilings, walls and floor joists when we removed a large chimney stack from the center of our Centerville home. As I became comfortable with the quality of their work, we added interior trim projects and additional roof trim repair. Andrei is very responsive and I like the way he collaborates with me to get the best solution to a challenge (most of the time his ideas are better than mine). Ours is an older house, so whenever we open up a wall, we find previous work that needs to be dealt with creatively and Bel Islands is up to the task. I will be using them again in the future, which is the best compliment I can give. read more

The Bel Islands team under the direction of Andrei did a fabulous job on replacing a deck, shingles, & storm doors on my house. He was very responsive from the beginning to the end of the project. He would stop by daily to check on the progress. In addition to Andrei, the team (Ivan, Victor, Ralph & Artem) that worked daily on the projects were very professional, friendly & respectful. The foreman (Ivan) explained any issues/problems that were present & offered suggestions for correcting the issue/problem. The team worked hard to complete the projects even working on some weekends. I will definitely hire them for future projects. Highly recommended! read more

Bel Islands Home Improvement is the best! Andrei initially made a visit to our home about 10 years ago when several roof shingles came off home after a storm. I called him to see if we needed a new roof. At that time, he said no - how honest is that! 10 years later, he came back and put on a new beautiful roof. He was patient with our scheduling delay due to septic tie in, and waiting for electrician to put in bathroom fans with new vents to the roof. He made logical recommendations - all implemented. His crew did a fantastic job of cleaning up as well. Plan on new siding now, and Andrei is the only choice. read more
