Listen, I frequent all Raley's/ Bel Air, but after walking through the produce section, I felt compelled to take a photo that every single piece of produce was aesthetically aligned. Like even the potatoes. I wish I owned a business so I could hire this produce worker. I don't know what they make but they deserve a raise. I want to donate to their charity of choice. I want to be their maid of honor/ or best man in their wedding. I want to carry their casket at their funeral. They never have any checkers they force everyone into self checkout with the very few remaining staff irritated at the thought of even helping you. I've seen moldy bread before reported it to the employees and came back the next day and saw still sitting there. Trader Joe's or Nugget just down the road is a far better option with much better customer service and care. read more

Despite calls to the corporate customer service management and the store manager, this store is perfect example of what an American grocery should not be. I've shopped here for over 30 years and it continues to get worse. We give most of our business to other stores now because this store is frustrating and annoying. Only shop here in a pinch because it's close to home. I wanted to add an edit to this review. After posting this and seeing the response...I thought u would give the store another chance. I went to buy a rotisserie chicken and to my dissapointment ... just walking by the display case I could smell the burn. I checked a few of them and they were all looking the same... burned on top. I asked for the deli manager and the employee in the deli directed me to the front. I went and a manager there spoke to me. I told her about my review and about the response. She called the deli manager over and he stated he never heard anything about my review or the response here. Apologized for the chickens and said he would check the oven. I wasn't charged for the chicken ... I insisted on paying but they said no. About a few weeks later...I went shopping for veggies and was curious about the chickens... look the same. So I give up. Not buying rotisserie chicken here. I did order 2 today...from the Rayles on Douglas/Rocky ridge store and was happy to see how they remained consistent and the chickens looked beautiful and tasted great. This is a great neighborhood grocery store! The layout is logical and they fit a pretty nice selection of items in a relatively small space without it feeling stuffed and overcrowded. Produce is decent and deli is nice with some interesting prepared meal choices. They carry a lot of vegan / vegetarian items, as well as several smaller and local brands. Ample parking, checkout is quick and easy, and staff are helpful! read more

Horrible customer service from the manager on duty. only 2 checkouts open with 6 s people in each line with full baskets. all i had was a 12pack of beer. When busy you can always got to the checker at self checkout. Nobody was in self check out so went to pay at checker. She stated she was the manager and they are not allowed to sell alcohol at that register. I stated been doing this for years with no issues. Was told they do this to be nice. Asked why she wasn't being nice and sending me back in line to wait while she sat there and did nothing. She shrugged her shoulders and that is it. Worse customer service I have ever had a Bel Air / Raleys. I'm so feed up with this store. You sign up for their membership card or whatever they call it and that's been great for years. But now to get the active membership prices you have to either scan the code or sign in and pick out the sale items. If you already use the card it means you are an active member. I got to the store 15 minutes before close so as to have time to get a few items and check our behind 11. I have gone here since my grandfather worked as a butcher. I love this store, but it has changed. It's impossible to get prosciutto cut correctly at the deli. It's so frustrating because fresh sliced is so much better than packaged. The last time my husband brought it home from the store I threw it out because it was so thick it wasn't edible. It was cut like thick sliced turkey or cheese, you should be able to see through it. Please, learn your meats. This has happened more than a few times now, and the person whoever they are always argue that they can't slice it thin and it's an unusual request. I posted a picture of a package I get from Costco that is next best thing. Literally says on package how it's super thin for best flavor. Everyone outside of the deli is super nice and helpful. Love this store and will always go here, but not for prosciutto anytime soon. read more

This Bel Air has the best staffed deli/sandwich counter by far. I even make the extra effort to come to this one even though the Woodcreek location is closer to my work. Annie always makes the best sandwiches and she has great customer service skills, even in the face of rude people. Cho also did an amazing job on a sushi tray that was the highlight of a birthday event. I wish I knew the other employees names because they're all exceptional people. read more

The lack of grocery knowledge and the blatant disregard or care for customers is atrocious at this location. I'd like to say it was just a one time occurrence but after several shopping experiences there, it's clear the staff share commonalities in unprofessionalism and rudeness. I only rely on this store as a last resort. I can't believe I'm going to say this but, Walmart has better customer service and manners than the people at this grocery store. I seldom bother to give feedback or leave reviews but I'm tired of paying for inflated prices in exchange for terrible service. Drive further for your local mom and pop grocery. I am obviously a regular and generally enjoy coming here. However, I must ding a star for poor service lately from the new employees. More specifically the younger employees have no idea what customer service is. Had a checker and bagger carry on a flirty conversation while doing my transaction. Really? Then most recently saw a very angry customer in line in front of me say to the cashier he was overcharged a dollar AGAIN on a particular item he bought yesterday that was supposed to be on sale. While the cashier did reduce his bill by TWO dollars, he never apologized or even tell the customer he did it so the customer accused Bel Air of ripping him off and walked out disgusted. I also so no motion for the cashier to prevent this from happening again by verifying the sku rang up properly. The interaction could have been handled SO much better with just a few kind words and an extra step to bring management in to solve the sku problem in the customer's presence. Lastly, check your stuff for expirations. There was a package of moldy cheese front and center on the hook. I took it to the back for an employee to dispose of and again no apology or thanks for saving us the embarrassment. I add this review because there will come a day when a Walmart Market or other discount grocery open up nearby and business here will decline. Please train your newbies better. I absolutely love Bel-Air, and have shopped at many locations in the Roseville area for the past 20-25 years. Lately however, I have been turned off by the loud, crazy music playing in the stores. (It's mostly the Foothills and Antelope Store.) The other day, I was ready to shop for the week, and had to just leave my cart in the middle of an isle and get out of there! The music was so loud, I couldn't concentrate, or think. When I approached an associate about this issue, her response was, "Sorry. Can't do anything about it.," and she turned to continue talking to her co-worker. Calling a manager might have been a good idea, but not when you're a teenager, I guess. No one seemed to care, so I left. I would rather shop at Safeway, or even Wal-Mart, than listen to that head banger music again. UGH!!! read more

Been shopping here for years, always a good place to get groceries. Sure their prices are higher than most but you get great customer service. One comment regarding the Deli- every now and then I go in and order a sandwich from the counter. They are pretty good and pricing is actually slightly cheaper than Togo's and Subway, however I noticed over the last three times I've ordered salami sandwiches twice they don't put a lot of salami on it (not sure if they are afraid of putting too much??) It used to be that they would pack it full so much that the sandwich would nearly fall apart when you unwrapped it. This one has been lacking lately. No question before about getting my money's worth but now I can go to another sandwich shop and get more meat for the money lol. It's a shame because everything else is perfect (always fresh produce and bread) The quality is good its just the quantity I'm concerned with. Not sure if they are trying to get people to pay more for extra meat. If so, that will make it more expensive than their competitors. read more

Do not recommend if you plan on purchasing anything fresh (meat, produce, dairy, baked items, etc). They had 10 day expired imitation crab on the shelves, and I asked for a replacement and they didn't have any that wasn't expired. Not the first time I've purchased/tried to purchase something and found out that it was expired/old. The produce is hit or miss, sometimes it's fresh and sometimes it smells like it's starting to rot. The store bakery items are always fresh but the other bread quality/freshness is also very inconsistant. Check the dairy dates too because they have a habit of keeping *barely* unexpired or full on expired things on the shelves read more

I'm never one to leave a negative review but last night was just something I haven't gotten over. I got there at around 10:52 and I know they close at 11 so I try to be quick. I get my cereal and head towards the back to get the milk which they've started closing down, and they don't have the whole gallon of milk until the morning when they restock which is totally understandable, so I settled for the half gallon. Then they announce over the intercom that the store is now closed and to make ur way up to the cashier. So I'm heading towards the front while I'm going down candy aisle and take a quick moment to look at the candy until I'm rudely approached by a worker who says," ma'am the store is closed" and rushes me to the cashier. I don't say anything I just comply because I was honestly just scared because there were like 5 guys just eyeing me like a hawk and I felt very uncomfortable. After they rush me through the check out, I finally walk out and get to my car and look at the time and it was only 11:03!!! Sorry for staying 3 minutes past closing but that was just unnecessary and rude customer service. read more
