Hmmmm I guess maybe my experience is different because they aren't the ones delivering my mail to my place of residence. I have come here years ago to get my passport, drop off packages and purchase stamps. I have never had an issue. Well one lady was rude but out of all the time I have stopped here I would say this is a pretty good post office. My passport was completed without any issues and my packages and letter have always made it to its destination. They do have a P.O. Boxes for rent, stamp sales, burial flags, passport processing and photos (make sure to look at their hours to make sure you get there when they are open.), shipping and I am sure several more things that I haven't experienced. They also have a self weigh and ship scale that's right outside of the doors that lead you to the person mail employees. Oh they also have a outside drive up mailer for envelopes just in case you don't want to go in. Parking is simple. They have a big lot so plenty of room for several cars. There has only been one time I had to park on the street because it was so busy. So, all in all this is a decent post office to me. If anything changes I'll be sure to let you guys know. read more

I had to pay $30 twice because an employee at the Bel Air post office sent my item back to me the sender instead of the recipient! My label that I printed out even said "To:" and "From". The post office said that there wasn't anything that could be done on their part because I did not catch it. Funny this is that I am sure in most other work sectors if an employee makes an error the business does right by the customer and fixes it. Apparently at the Post Office the employees can make mistakes, and it is the customer's responsibility to check over their work. We don't get our mail delivered at least 1 to 3 days a month. I've waited for the postman all day. They don't show up. I have three dogs so when the mail truck comes they let me know. I've also mailed out letters and important documents and they never get there. read more

Not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. All I see is nice people trying to work with people and get them taken care of. I actually prefer this location over the one that's assigned to me in Abingdon (don't get me started on them). We have had the same issue as the other posters...plus more. Often we get other people mail, including drivers licenses, insurance documents, packages. They leave our packages out on the street 1/2 mile away in the snow often and I've had several gone missing. Ive reported it several times and they dont take it seriously. We need to get together and have this post office held accountable. read more

This post office is absolutely AWEFUL! I have had a VERY expensive package sit "in transit" from California for 10 days. I contacted the post office in which they tell me they can not track it and it will arrive when it arrives. I then get a notification that it has arrived at the post office. I drive up there and proceed to tell the cashier what I'm there for he cuts me off and says he will not walk in the back to get the package I will have to wait until it gets delivered. I then ask for the supervisor who basically did not let me get a word out and tells me they can not and will not go in the back and look for me. My 7year old happened to be with me and she even said the 2 men were talking over me. I left there not only in tears but very upset they way they were demeaning to me. I REFUSE to ever step foot in this post office again. read more

I am also having an issue with a package delivery!! I track my packages so I know when to expect them, had a package supposed to be delivered January 19, 2019, tracking said delivered in/at mailbox, ummm not my mailbox!!! I call the post office, they tell me to file a claim, try to do that and it was too soon couldn't do it, mind you my regular carrier was out( she brings packages to my door!), The ask the carrier that delivered that day and he says he remembers scanning it but doesn't know what house it was left at!!! WTH! None of my neighbors have stepped up and either put it in my box or give it to the carrier, my package had my dogs blood glucose test strips in it and what are the odds of who ever received it also has a diabetic dog!!!! I finally could file a missing mail claim on January 23, 2019, wait, wait and finally get a phone call from a lady, she asks some questions, she said she would email the post office that was February 1, 2019, today is February 11, 2019 and I haven't heard anything! Someone owes me some money, test strips for animals are not cheap!! I emailed the company I ordered from about the situation, they tell me to let them know if the post office doesn't refund me, Its not their responsibility to make this right it's the post office/ carrier!!!! read more

I have only been in this office to mail packages off twice since living in bel air for over 10 years. Both times of me going there I have been dealt with the same postal worker who is not very informative when you need assistance and understanding of what my options were. It was like I was supposed to come in know exactly what to do and that's it. Asking questions was an issue and an attitude. Besides the first time me coming she had ear buds in her ears having a whole conversation with someone else while I was trying to get my package mailed safely and cost efficiently. Very rude service. again this time it was a huge rush asked me if I put the sticker on the box already and to give her the box. However I did not say thank you have a good day as I Always do to everyone in customer service. i didn't feel she deserved a thank you with the attitude she carried with me for no reason other then I dont mail packages everyday or often enought o know everything that needs to be done prior to going to the counter and any extra info she was needing to tell me was a burden. But she did seem to mumble to herself that I was rude when I walked off. Even tho I never treat people like that. I hope she realized she got what she gave. Friendliness and professionalism goes along way in customer service. It shouldn't be a burden or maybe you are in the wrong business dealing with people and helping meet their needs. We haven't received mail for the last 2 days. This has not happened in 31 years in Bel Air. A sign of the times?

Lazy and incompetent postal employees and carriers. Time to clean house and hire some people who appreciate being employed and are able to read because obviously these carriers can't or they wouldn't repeatedly deliver mail to the wrong address. They often cram packages in your mailbox resulting in destroyed mail. When you call and complain they act as though they are shocked by the incompetence, tell you they will follow-up, and then close your case without doing anything, least of all a follow-up call. Let me start off by saying, one of the workers in the physical post office is just horribly rude. She made me cry today. The attitude was too real. I had no idea what she was trying to say to me as the lack of communication skills were quite visible. I don't know who hired her but both them and her should be fired. We all have jobs we hate hunny. Keep the hatred at your house. Now, the other day I witnessed a driver pull next to my car which was parked next to my driveway, a good five or six feet away from my mailbox (obviously bc I'm not trying to block it) and as he pulled out, he was so enraged my car blocked his path that he almost HIT MY CAR! He honked his horn at me and came two inches from HITTING MY CAR! WITH HIS BIG BOXY TRUCK! Come on. Mailmen in New York WALK the streets delivering all the mall EVERY DAY and are such sweethearts about it. You are incapable of maneuvering around my car? Never mind the fact that I live in a COURT! NOT A TEENY TINY NARROW STREET! HE HAD ALL THE SPACE IN THE WORLD PRACTICALLY! Moral of the story is, I will never EVER step foot into the post office again and from now on will have my father drop off packages if need be. Forever a fan of the UPS store. Great people over there. Very nice. Quite the opposite of those at the post office. But, there is one very nice skinny man at the post office so he is not included in my hatred of the post office. read more

Please read! I live in Bel Air MD and I have many packages that I ship either by dropping them off in my mail box, or at this post office. On 2/2/2018 my account that I sell items on refunded me for a 'lost package.' This was a package that I had dropped off in my mail box, (like usual) and just 'disappeared.' I am convinced that the mail carrier stole it. (I have read another review on Abingtons Post Office, from 2 yrs ago that the mail carrier had been stealing this persons packages and they were suing). But this has happened to me so they have not fixed the issue! Another story with this Post Office; around 1 month ago my mother had gone to the post office and an older white male clerk working there was very rude and racist towards my mother! He even admitted that he is a racist. Another time after I had gone to the Post Office the same mail clerk took a very long time to get to me and he had a cigarette behind his ear (unprofessional) and when he finally did get to me I was the only person in the Post Office. Well to the folks who go to this Post Office, just know that the supervisors said that they cannot retrieve video/audio footage for me as one of them had rushed to the scene to stop this man from further insulting my mother. My father got off of work as soon as he heard the news. We are further investigating to sue this establishment for their unacceptable behavior. read more
