I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I hired this company to move my belongings, including a washer/dryer combo worth approximately $1,900. When the truck was opened at delivery, the unit had tipped over and the dryer glass was shattered. The company later denied my claim, stating I signed a liability waiver because the units remained stacked. My issue is not that the units were transported stacked -- it's that they appear to have been improperly secured during transport, causing the straps to fail and the appliance to fall. I trusted the movers to transport the unit safely. Very disappointing outcome and claims process. read more

Calling to book a spot was easy. I was able to get 2 guys to move household belongings into a nearby storage facility for two days later. When the guys arrived, I mentioned that I hoped we could get things done in an hour. 95% of the stuff was in covered plastic bins with easy access. There were less than 60 bins. When we arrived at the storage facility, I noted to the guys that we had less than 15 minutes (to get the job done in an hour) and asked if if could be done. They kinda mumbled that they'd try. I helped carry boxes in - it was an exterior space and the van was parked directly in front of the space. By my watch, we got it done w a minute to spare. By the lead worker's clock, we were 2 minutes over and he said that they charge in 15 minute increments. I called the company the next day to argue my point and, surprisingly, they refunded the 15 minute charge! read more

I used BEK moving to move yesterday. Communication with the office was great. I filled out the inventory list to the best of my ability and received a quote. The quote was in line with competitors, and landed at the low end of the quote which I was thrilled. The drivers were expected between 8&9AM and they arrived at 8:AM sharp. When I tell you these guys showed up to make my move quick and seamless I am not kidding. I had 4 movers with one truck and they were professional and curious the entire time. They took the best care of my belongings, put everything where I wanted it and setup my washer and dryer without asking. To say I was thrilled with my experience is an understatement. do not hire this company! they have no honesty or integrity!! their email response to me addressing my concerns contained so many outright lies it became ridiculous attempting to respond. it's not worth my time. they clearly don't care and have no commitment to honesty or integrity! no wonder they have a total rating of 2 with the better business bureau. my only recourse is to leave the worst review possible. proceed at your own risk, and that of your bank account! they massively overcharge and then hold your furniture hostage (refusal to complete delivery) if you don't approve, in writing, their "new" total charge (even if it's more than double their estimate after one of the owners, justin, did a full walk through). then they lied about what justin told me they would include in the move. i love my new home. bek is just an insignificant blip in my history, but they'll have to answer for their lack of values, ethics and integrity at some point along their journey. i wish you all safe, honest and stress-free moves into the future! read more

The guys did a great job. Almost no damage or issues with the team. I would recommend they visit your home to determine the right number of trucks or equipment needed. There were a few things the team was not aware of, but they adjusted great on a difficult move. Tried to get as much on the trucks as they could. Did a great job protecting some delicate old pieces of furniture. The even got my piano in the basement. Very impressed with the movers. Young kids that were extremely polite and hard working. Just needed more of them and another truck to make the day perfect, but this was not the fault of the crew. They adapted and rocked it!! read more

We have had the worst experience. I hired BEK to move us from Wildwood, Mo to Meridianville, AL. I got a quote from them and accepted the quote. The morning they showed up right away they told me I need to decide what I can live without. My things were not all fitting in two trucks. They brought a van to take the overflow. After leaving our house that night apparently they reloaded the truck and added the things from the van. Our furniture is damaged, scratches and deep gouges in our cabinets and tables. My husbands saw has been kept in a basement and was like new. They got it wet and it's all rusted. They lost my vacuum, the parts of our gas grill are missing, galvanized trash can that was filled with long tools is gone. I had to leave my wicker porch furniture behind. They took it but it didn't get on the truck. I had to contact them. They never called to see how the move went. when I did talk to Eric he refunded my deposit. But that no where near covers a new stove, a new vacuum, tools, furniture, etc. Their mover carried multiple boxes into my kitchen in AL and hit a burner turning it on. I walked in and a bag on the electric stove was burning. Everything in the bag melted all over the stove. The burger was red hot! My dogs medicine and food was in the bag. it was destroyed. I finally talked to one owner and said I wanted $5,000 to replace everything. Then a second owner called and told me no and have a nice weekend. If you hire them you're crazy. I can't even believe how awful this is. I even gave Eric a new twin bed/mattress and sheets for his daughter who had no bed. I tipped every worker $100 on both ends. Bought food for them in St Louis and gave them cash to buy food in AL. The workers complained that they only had so much time to unload our truck per their boss. Yet they only had thred guys to unload two full trucks. This has been a nightmare. My husband is having memory loss issues and they knew I was handling this all on my own. And so they decide to not help me at all. Sadly I didn't take a picture of the stove but I did tell the main guy unloading the truck. read more

Simply inefficient. Could not do a move other companies did in one day and then they said it was my fault I didn't do their inventory correctly--an owner came onsite in a.m. and thought it possible but it wasn't, and his suggestion of what to do cost me even more money. Double to triple the cost of another company who'd moved me in with fewer people, and over double the BEK estimate. Almost $4000 to move 5 miles. Three guys worked hard. One simply did a quarter of the work of the others, so perhaps that was also part of the problem? But I still paid for it. Owner then tried to pin all of their issues on me when they left half a bed in one house at the end of the day. Also took multiple phone calls to get the damage fixed to my house. Then charges to my card (rather than letting me pay with check) cost even more. I'm sure they'll have some justification here pinning this all on me or at least making an attempt. It was important to me that a moving company do an on-site walkthrough of my home, particularly since I was seeking full packing services. BEK would not do an on-site and though they were responsive and their pricing was reasonable compared to others there was a 60% difference between the low and high ends of their estimate. Ultimately, I excluded BEK from consideration simply because of their practice of not doing an on-site walkthrough which I just couldn't get comfortable with. Update (5/31/22): I find it indicative that BEK has the budget for a Marketing Director but not an On-Site Estimator. However, to Justins' point below, I'm just not impressed by a claim to be 95% accurate in your bidding process when you leave yourself a 60% target range to work within. Nevertheless, since I did not hire BEK and am merely commenting on their estimating process as being the reason I did not hire them, I was seriously considering revising my rating "process" to provide Justin an extra star for the marketing effort. But I just can describe their initial service as "good". I might also add that McGuire Moving sent me an email screenshot of someone offering their review services for $3.00 per review. Highly recommend! This was my first time using a moving company and I will never move without one again. WELL worth the money! I got 5 quotes and BEK was priced great. Forget bothering with the highly advertised companies. Three men showed up and packed and unpacked everything in 7 hours. They were friendly and worked hard, half of the time in pouring down rain. Unfortunately there was a leak in the truck and my coffee table got ruined but they were on it immediately, took pics and video and called in right from my house to report the damage. The company reimbursed me for a new table. The customer service was awesome! We hired BEK moving for a local move on Labor Day weekend for some items to be moved from Cedar Hill to High Ridge. I wanted to take the strain off of my husband and I backs on lifting the heavy furniture. We took care of the boxes and other lighter items on our own with a uhaul. I, first, want to say that I actually work in the moving industry in a corporate office so I know a little about the ins and outs of the moving arena. BEK sent movers Domanic S and Tony as our movers for the afternoon. They were the nicest guys during the process. Asked us what was moving from the old house, asked us where it was sitting in the new house. They protected everything from damage. I had tried to take apart what I could ahead of time like beds and washer/dryer to make their jobs a little easier. They finished up quickly with the job and I was pleasantly surprised the cost was cheaper than I was expecting at the end. I did give them a $100 tip in the check I wrote: $50 for each guy so I hope they received it. The only issue I have had is the handle to my fridge was not installed back on correctly so it fell off and I am trying to find an Allen wrench the correct size to put it back on. If that is the only issue I have during the whole moving process I'm happy. read more

I hesitate to ding BEK for the longest day of my life. The movers arrived around 8 or 9 am. We had a bunch of stuff, that's true, but they told us on the phone there would be four movers. Two showed up. They were also expecting a couple more people. It took a pretty long time for those two to load the truck, and you could tell they were tiring as they went on. Then we made the three hour drive to Kansas City, starting at 3, I think. Those two same poor guys had to unload the truck they'd loaded. They were troopers, but at 1:30 AM I'd had enough and asked them to get the furniture to the right floors, the boxes off the driveway and into the house, and then head out. So look, they were substantially cheaper than others send gotten quotes from. Our stuff did get from A to B with only a few broken things (nothing worth making a big deal about). The guys were professional and nice. But holy hell, that was a long day made longer by two phantom movers who never showed. read more

Had SUCH a great experience with BEK. I scheduled a last minute move from Webster Groves to Kirkwood but got in with no issues. The move went awesome. The team assigned were not only friendly and helpful - they worked extremely hard and without complaint. They were just really great guys. I asked for a pinball machine and a couple of other heavy things to be moved a couple of times around a room, and though I am sure it was super annoying, they never complained and rather, even suggested ideas of other places to move them. The movers were cool guys, but the prices were astronomical! It cost me more money to move 5 minutes from my previous residence than it did to move to STL from AZ! They tried for an hour to get my sofa down the stairs, but couldn't. I finally figured it out FOR them, but it cost me about $100 while they tried, not to mention the fact that they scratched up my sofa, and made it look pretty bad! I was not pleased! Then one of the guys welcomed me to the neighborhood, and gave me a few dollars off because of the incident. The company called me the next day and were very rude and asked me why I didn't pay the full balance! I was flabbergasted, and told her that whomever took the payment gave me a few dollars off because of the damaged sofa (not to mention that I was being robbed blind, and the fact that I paid for them to struggle to find a way to get my sofa downstairs for a little over an hour). She then demanded that I send them photos, and they will determine if I get money off or not...after I sent them the photos...I never heard back from them again!
