When I placed my order for a relo cube I was told that the only way they could guarantee a specific delivery day was if I paid an additional fee, which I did. I was also told that it would be delivered by 5:00pm on my scheduled day that I paid extra for. I just got a phone call asking me if I still wanted it on the scheduled day (which I paid extra for), ya think I do???? I was told as long as it was there by midnight they were not under breach of contract. Guess what, that was never discussed with me. Then the lady said that they try to be there by 8:00pm the latest. Once again different information than the person that sold me on guaranteed date. So I'm supposed to be available until Midnight to tell them where to put it and sign the Bill of lading. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! Pay a little more and go with someone else. read more

Preface: ANYTHING you're told by them on the phone should be verified by at least a return email. I was generally OK with this move, but read my full review. One usually does not use services like this often, and there are gotchas in the process. Used this for a move of about 1000 miles. They gave me one price, but when I told them that I wanted their 6'x7'x8'H relo-cube dropped off sooner, the price went up by a couple of hundred dollars. I did not get the original quote in writing, although I wrote it down when I first got it, and I don't think this was particularly fair. Stars deducted for this. IMPORTANT: The cube did not include any pads or tie-downs. I was not even offered a way to rent these, and believe me I asked. Worse, I had no clue what the anchor slots inside the cube were called, even though I'd used these before in a truck rented from Home Depot, which included the tie-downs in the rental. Turns out these are called "e-track," and the tie downs and hooks for these are available at places like Home Depot and Harbor Freight (good selection there). Now I know. All that said, U-Pack were responsive on the phone, and were clear about when they would drop off, picked up on time, and gave plenty of notice about drop off at the destination. They also dropped off a second relo-cube which was completely free if we didn't use it, and a few hundred dollars if we did. Happily we did not use it and were not billed for it. And the cube arrived with the insides looking like the day they were packed. I guess we did a very good job packing and securing the contents, and I think it was handled reasonably well by them. INSURANCE - IMPORTANT: Our stuff was only insured for 10 cents a pound by U-Pack. If the cube was fully loaded and contents was completely destroyed, this would have paid us no more than $ 250.00. For under $100.00 with a deductible, you can get replacement insurance. We got this, did not need to file any claims, but I consider it money well-spent. FYI, I used movinginsurance.com. Also IMPORTANT: Lastly, be aware that you will have only a limited time once the cube is dropped off, or you will be charged daily or monthly for it. In our case it was 3 business days, and then either $50/day or $150/month - a bargain compared to the daily rate! As I understand it, you do need to let them know in advance if you want it monthly. FINALLY: Called 3 times about having the relo-cube picked up. Once to make sure I had the dates right, so I wouldn't be charged for another month. Another call to arrange pickup, and a 3rd to re-confirm the pickup date, and make sure I wouldn't be charged another month. The next day: I get an email: a charge is made to my credit card for.... wait for it .. ANOTHER MONTH (Really???). When I called the number on that email, I was told that they never got the pick-up order. Finally, the charge was reversed, and the cube was picked up at last. Geez. read more

I had to move from Columbia, MO to New York, NY at the last minute. All while during the height of COVID. I called the main number for UPACK and had great customer service (every time I called). The man who officially booked my reservation asked his manager if they could squeeze me in (due to my last minute move). They fit me into their schedule. In Missouri, UPack partnered with ABF Freight and the representative from ABF was amazing. They don't offer same day pick up, but for my positing, he made an exception. I did have to coordinate with both my moving company (ABF Freight) and movers separately even though I booked both through UPack. *Note, they hire local movers at your destination so it explains the reasoning behind two separate logistical plans. When the trailer arrive to load up my items, the driver was friendly and helped secure my items. After my trailer arrived in New York, the driver was fantastic in staying with the truck during the unloading process. Overall, just a great moving company. read more

If you need labor help, find it locally and your $5-6K full service move will turn into $1500ish. I had an amazing experience moving from Dallas to St Louis with AFB U-Pack Relocubes. In Dallas the cubes were not allowed to be at the apartment complex so I hired movers who packed everything up in their truck and took it to the Dallas terminal and unloaded into the cubes. The movers ran late and we were there far past the normal hours but there was someone there to help us get to our cubes and even locate a 3rd when we realized everything was just not going to fit. In St Louis I was contacted about scheduling a time to have them delivered. My apartment here did allow them to be on property but only for 24 hous. We planned for a 8-12 delivery. The driver called at 7:45 and said he was driving in, perfect! My 3rd cube was not very full and I asked if we could empty it quickly so it wouldn't take up more space. He said that would make his day easier transporting them so he helped out and got everything inside before the rain hit. Movers came and unloaded. Driver called at 11:45 to see where we were and we had only 1 item left to unload, we did that and he showed up and took the units. They were only on property for about 4 hours total. PERFECT!!! I used a coupon from Yelp to save $50. For my 3 cubes from Dallas - O'Fallon, IL it was $1002. read more

For a long distance move, U-Pack is the way to go. I first booked them last summer, but then with COVID I had to postpone my move from St. Louis MO to Virginia Beach VA. Everyone I spoke to at U-Pack was helpful and cancellation was easy. Finally was able to reschedule the move, so I set up everything online. I had to change my delivery a couple of times, but each change resulted in an immediate update to my packing plan. In fact, throughout the process, the packing plan was always kept up to date. It couldn't have been easier. I packed the cube myself and everything arrived in good condition. At both ends of the move, I dealt with ABF Freight and I can't say enough positive things about their customer service. Maybe they are just used to dealing with people who are nervous like I was, but their calm and cheerful demeanor was comforting during the stress of moving. I saw the insurance mentioned in other reviews and we were actually told about this by the driver who dropped off the cube. All in all, moving with U-Pack exceeded all of my expectations. read more

They did not meet any of the time commitments, damaged 3/4 of my items, lost $3k worth of furniture, and lost my cubes for 5 days and no one could confirm where they were. Used U-Pack for a move from Oregon to St Louis. I needed two containers and had them deliver them to my home in Oregon to pack and then to the terminal in St. Louis to unload. This worked out wonderfully as I was able to load the container at my leisure. Also in St Louis since the items were just going into storage I was able to have my mover unload at the terminal where there was adequate room. Also we were able to set up an appointment at our convenience. Great way to move your belongings for a reasonable amount of money. read more

Moved studio apartment's worth of stuff from St. Louis, MO to Seattle, WA for ~1,800 dollars! I was so worried about the logistics of such a long distance move, but I couldn't believe how smooth it went! I felt like I had to write a review because it went so well, and I never write reviews. UPack was by far the cheapest option for my move. The price made me skeptical of the quality of the service, but this move would have cost me 10,000 with a full service moving company or 3,000 with a shady local moving company with a ton of negative yelp reviews (not going to call anyone out here, but if a "full-service" moving quote sounds too good to be true on the phone, follow your gut). I only needed 1 relocube for the amount of stuff I was moving, and I didn't even fill it all the way. I added on guaranteed delivery in five business days (so worth the extra ~200 for me because I knew exactly when to expect it so that I could plan my flight out accordingly) and it arrived on the promised date. I unloaded it at the destination terminal into a Uhaul to drive to my final destination (unloading at the terminal is cheaper and was necessary for my move into an apartment building with no available parking to drop a cube). When I opened the cube in WA, everything was in exactly the same place as where I tied it down in MO. Nothing was wet or broken! I took before and after pictures, and they looked exactly the same. Granted, I packed pretty meticulously and used plenty of rope. The customer service is pretty good. I had to tweak my plans a few times after scheduling the move, but they were easy to contact and took care of everything I needed to change. But they weren't perfect (see below tip). If I ever end up doing another long distance move, this is absolutely the way I will do it. No surprise fees, no damaged stuff, reliable delivery date, and super affordable. Just a few tips if you go with UPack: - Pack very carefully and tie EVERYTHING down inside. I expected the worst and was happily surprised! It's better to be safe than sorry. - Guaranteed 5-business day delivery is the way to go. - Give your empty cube a good look over before signing off on it. Make sure there aren't any holes or serious problems with it. - Contact the origin and destination terminals to know when to expect your cube to be delivered. The UPack people won't necessarily tell the local terminals everything about your move. I was told by UPack representatives on the phone that I would receive a call when my empty cube would be delivered to my storage unit, but the origin terminal never got this memo and also didn't know it was delivering to a storage unit. Used u-pack trailer to move from Henderson, NV to St Louis area. Everything went well. Trailer was delivered on time and picked up as promised. When I reserved trailer I was told delivery would take 7 - 10 days. Trailer was dropped on day 9. I reserved 20 feet of 28 foot trailer and I used 21 feet. I was charged for exactly what I used. The drivers from Henderson and St Louis were extremely kind and courteous. They were very helpful and placed the trailer exactly where I wanted - actually suggested better placement than I had thought of. The driver in Henderson showed me how to use the ramp and how to install the bulkhead. St louis driver spotted the trailer 4 different places to make unloading easiest. I would highly recommend ABF's U-Pack. read more

Move from IL to VA We are familiar with moving. 14 times in 26 years. However, this was the first time we were doing it on our own, all previous moves were facilitated by the military. We knew what to expect and the amount of work that it was going to take. Since we were doing all of the packing and loading/unloading - we really didn't want to DRIVE it across five states. They drive the truck ... oh yeah! 4. We needed storage for 30 days. PACKING: Our truck arrived on the day/time requested. It fit perfectly in the driveway and the driver ensured it was exactly where we wanted it. Professional team throughout the process. We packed the truck and called for pick-up, they arrived within a few hours. TRANSIT: Tracking our truck was an ease while it traveled and in storage all with the truck number. UNPACKING: We had to change our drop off location and it was easily changed. The truck arrived on time and the driver {a new one} ensured it was back up directly to the storage unit allowing for easy access to ramp. Another professional part of the team! We called to let them know the truck was empty and it was picked up. PROCESS: We made several modification after the initial reservation. We thought we would need two semi-trailers but ended up only needing one. When they arrived with two - the driver took one away with no problem! Payment was made when the trailer was delivered {to include storage}. No additional fees added during the process, the cost did not change from the initial quote. We moved my daughter from St. Louis to Colorado. We filled two u-pack containers with her stuff, stored them for 5 months and had them delivered to CO. When we opened them in CO, everything was ruined. There had been 4 inches of muddy water in each cube sometime during storage. Everything made of wood was warped and swollen. Mattress and box spring so moldy that it was immediately thrown out. Then, to add insult to injury, they offer her pennies on the dollar for her claim. Stay away from these yahoos. read more

Upack containers were excellent. Delivery and pick up were very smooth. The movers we got through upack were as good as we've had in 30 years of moving. For our needs (we used 1 and 2/3 containers) the price was excellent. The container storage option is also well priced. We stored the containers while our home got renovated. This was a great deal for us. Loaded it St. Louis area shipped to near by Seattle WA. The truck was able to take our yard diesel tractor which required 2 ramps. Delivered when needed with 2 ramps. BUT this is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. We called for delivery. Ramps don't travel with truck. At the Seattle end, I told the dispatchers I will need 2 ramps and he asked if my ramp was on the truck. I told him , no. He went on to tell me they don't issue 2 ramps. I told him I drive a small car and can't come get it. He said nothing on the phone, silence. I waited and asked how was I going to get a yard tractor off....silence. I asked him to please help me. Silence. Then he said bye and hung up. I am new to area, know nobody and now I have to find a rental place that has ramps to fit their truck. Two days later truck shows up and there are 2 ramps attached to underside of truck. Both have BROKEN parts. The truck driver used monster zippy ties to fix one and a neighbor gave us wood to jack up the broken one. Happy to be unpacking. It's a shame one peoson can cause so much unneeded trouble. If you want to save money and not use a van line, this is the way to go. We needed 26 feet of space for our house hold goods, moving from St Louis to Ft Myers. U Pack customer service was very helpful in helping us set up the order and understanding the process from pick up to delivery. They dropped off the trailer right on schedule and picked it up when it was loaded. We used Moving Staffers to load and unload for us. We also needed to store the trailer for 60 days which was no problem. There follow up and service are excellent and would recommend to anyone. We got rid of a lot of our furniture so not sure if a full household would fit into one trailer. read more

They advertise that using their moving podz service will be cheaper than a moving truck and gas. The quote that we received was 700 more than the truck and gas would have bee, first of all. Second, they told me that my belongings would be in transit (for only a 250 mile move) for at least 2 business days...moving on Friday, not getting my things until at least Tuesday!! This company is awesome. $1900 for a move from Boston to St. Louis, MO. (In reality it was only $1700, but I happily paid $200 extra for a guaranteed delivery date.) I selected the 8AM-12PM delivery window, and the guy showed up a little before 9AM----perfect. He was later able to pick up my empty cube the same day. It was only on the property for maybe 6 hours max. From Boston to STL, I received excellent service and was charged exactly the original price I had been quoted----not a penny more.
