I had an incredibly unpleasant experience here…read more It was a beautiful day and we were walking around U Village, shopping and browsing, and decided to stop into this store since I had never been before. When we walked in, there was no greeting, which wasn't a big deal--we continued browsing. Eventually, one of the employees asked, "Looking for something?" We said nothing specifically, just browsing, and continued looking around. I found a few pieces I liked and asked if I could try something on. While trying on a Spinelli ring, I asked whether they carried it in other colors. The response was, "Well, we can order it for you if you wanted." The tone came across as incredibly dismissive. I then asked about the materials and how the mixed metals hold up with wear. The response was essentially, "Well, it's jewelry. It has wear and tear as you wear it." I was honestly taken aback. I wasn't asking an unreasonable question--I was genuinely trying to understand how the piece would hold up before potentially spending a significant amount of money on it. I explained that I own other mixed-metal jewelry and had experienced issues where the metals rubbing against each other affected the shape over time. She responded, "Well, I've never heard of that happening, and that makes no sense." At that point, I was just stunned by the level of condescension. I have never experienced customer service like this at a jewelry store, especially one selling pieces at this price point. I genuinely felt like I was being treated as though I didn't know what I was talking about rather than having a normal conversation with a potential customer. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that we were the only younger, non-white customers in the store at the time. I can't say for certain why we were treated this way, and I don't want to make assumptions, but I couldn't help wondering whether our age, race, or even the way we were dressed influenced how we were perceived. We weren't dressed particularly fancy that day, but that shouldn't determine whether someone receives basic courtesy and respect. Ironically, I've received better customer service at Happy Lemon. I was genuinely interested in several pieces and would have been willing to spend a significant amount of money here, but after this experience, I wouldn't purchase anything from this store. There are plenty of other places where I can spend my money and be treated with basic respect. Very disappointing experience, and unfortunately I would not recommend this store.

As it turned out, one of the stones I was looking for was a very tricky find given the specs I was after, and I'm so grateful for how much patience Christine had for the sourcing process. I loved getting to see the final-contender stones in person, and the finished ring turned out even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. We had an awful…read moreexperience previously with another business in Bellevue, so we were not sure what to expect, but our experience at Storica was quite different. The shop is beautiful, the selection was lovely and the service was great. It was exactly what we were looking for! Now, I have to say that we did not book ahead, we just dropped in, which I recommend doing. We had previously made the huge mistake of scheduling an appointment with the other place in Bellevue (which requires a credit card), so when we decided we didn't want to purchase anything, we got charged $25 (for looking at their bracelet selection for like 5 mins!), which felt very predatory. I've noticed that permanent jewelry places often require some type of deposit, which is completely ridiculous. I am not sure whether Storica has the same policy, but since we just dropped in, it wasn't an issue at all. Their jewelry is beautiful and it wasn't hard to find something we both loved. I totally recommend this place and will be back if I decide to get something else.

Very disappointing experience! I will not be shopping here again…read more I have gone into this place several times. Lots of cute stuff, great gift ideas, and love the design of the items. Why the one star? Returns are store credit only. This is the most ridiculous return policy, especially for a design store. Sometimes items just don't work for the space/idea one might have for them. If an item is returned within days of purchase as result, the expectation is full refund. I do understand it is a small boutique shop. However, I would think return customers would be your bread and butter. I will not be returning as a result of this return policy. (Pun fully intended.) Edit: It is never clear to me why businesses insist on attempting to resolve an issue by simply restating their policy. Suggestion, if response is simply to restate, then don't respond. Said return policy is not clearly posted. If this were the case, purchase would never have been made. Suggestion, inform patrons verbally at time of purchase.
