My wife loves Mediterranean food so we tried this place. We ordered Fatoush, Fried Kibbeh, Falafel, and a Gyro. The Fatoush had pomegranate molasseses, lemon juice dressing topped crunchy pita bread strips. I would totally recommend this dish. The Kibbeh and falafel and Kibbeh was good too but just needed more flavor. The gyro did not have enough meat and they put a pickle in it which overpowered the gyro flavor. Really good (4 stars for the good things) * falafel. Yum! I have been to a couple places where the falafel is very dark, dense and oily. This was not! By far the best falafel I've had in the Utah valley. * Hummus, sesame tahini sauce and baba ganoush: creamy, tasty and flavorful. * Tabbouleh: super fresh, no slimy parsley! And I know that is a low bar, but I was thrilled as I have been to restaurants that had this. * Pita bread: OMG! Light, fluffy, fresh and warm. Really, really good! * Kibbeh: (my mom had this on my recommendation from my pre-vegetarian days). She was really surprised that this little fried ball could be so tasty. * fattoush: (my mom had this) she loved the crispy pita sticks in the salad. But thought the dressing was too astringent. Having said that, she said she liked it and would definitely order again. * The staff! Very nice. Not so great (3 stars for these things): * grape leaves and those weird purple turnip sticks. (But to be fair, I've never had either of these items at any restaurant that I actually liked.) * Spinach pie. The dough was super amazing, the spinach was ok. I just kept wanting it to have feta in it! If it had had feta,it would have been freaking amazing! * The atmosphere. Tiny cafe with old booths. It is not a sit down restaurant where you are waited on. You have to order and pay (before you get the food) at the counter as well as pick your food up there. Get your own drinks, etc. i don't like going to places like this. I prefer proper sit down restaurants with wait staff. * the menus: sticky icky! *. When you order you are not told that they will call the number on your receipt. You are left to figure it out. It was such a do it yourself place we actually had a conversation about whether we were expected to bus our own tables. We finally didn't because we couldn't see a place to put the plates after we dumped our trash. Having listed all the things that were not so great, the stuff that was really good was definitely worth it enough to go back again despite the not so great things. Loved Beiruts food! Having grown up in a neighborhood with Lebanese roots I was excited to try their menu. The hummus and lamb were tender and the shish kafta was seasoned just right and delicious with very good salad. And the pita was so fresh! It's a good lunch option on a weekend! Due to snow the traffic was light and it was easy for us to order our food at the counter and get some space for ourselves. We both got a mixed grilled plate including chicken, beef, and kafta skewers. All of them were juicy and tender, which was impressive. I also like the white garlic sauce they have on the side. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. The table was dirty, and the food itself wasn't the best. What really frustrated me was the service. You're forced to tip before you get any service, and all they do is call your name when your food is ready for you to pick up. When my 7-year-old son went to ask for a to-go box, the guy behind the counter, who was standing right next to the boxes, told him to grab one himself. I ordered the Mixed Grill main entree and my wife ordered the Beef Shawarma Plate main entree. I loved mine. I enjoyed trying a variety of meats (all delicious) along with the pita, rice, and hummus. My wife, unfortunately didn't love the beef. The texture was different than she's used to, and I agree, it was different. The falafel was ok, but seemed a bit dry (not sure if that's how it's supposed to be). Asked to try a sample of the gyro meat before I left and was blown away. What a terrific find! I'd heard some good reviews of this little Mediterranean café from some trusted folks with good palates. It's located in a brightly lit gas station plaza just down the street from Cottonwood High School. Clean and spacious, the Lebanese café shares a room with an unlikely partner: an ice cream parlor. It has way more of an ice cream parlor atmosphere than a quaint café. The food is the star of Beirut Café. Think succulent meats grilled over charcoal, pillowy flatbread, crisp cucumber and turnip pickles, and a savory garlic spread. The long-grained rice was spectacular, as were the cheesy flatbreads---sort of a Lebanese pizza. Prices are very fair, with combination plates running under $20 that should easily satiate you for two meals or more. The odd design aesthetic and suburban neighborhood probably contribute to the empty dining room. But be not afraid---I urge you to go out of your way to support this neighborhood gem! read more

They did have one lady that had a bad attitude every time I would go ask for something not to her she would just have a stank eye and be yelling at people so if they don't fix that one person working there I think people will not continue to go. I watched a door dasher get yelled at when picking up an order. The food was good and not so fresh I waited maybe 20 min and by the time I got my food it was sort of cold. Having passed this caffe a few times, I finally had an opportunity to check it out. The dining room was clean and organized and the music was not too loud, as with most cafés. I tried the salmon fillet, with rice, hummus, a sauce, and a fresh, warm, pita bread. It was delish! One quality that tied it all together nicely was definitely the customer service. The reviews on this place were decent so I decided to check it out. The service was good, the workers at the front were kind and patient while I tried to figure out what I wanted. There was not much to the ambience of the location, simply an open room, a few tables, and a tv that played Mediterranean music videos. To my taste buds, the food was bland, I didn't experience anything that made me jump for joy, but I can say it wasn't nasty. It simply turned into food that I was eating for survival.
