I will be quite honest with you that I really have no experience with Malaysian food. In point of…read morefact, I've bypass this restaurant numerous times simply assuming that it was Chinese. It is anything but in point of fact, it is in my estimation, a unique culinary experience. I don't write from the perspective of comparing this food to other Malaysian dishes that I've had in point of fact to the best of my recollection I don't think that I've ever had Malaysian cuisine. But if this restaurant is an example, I have missed a great deal. The food is very unique the servings are very gracious charitable. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the distinction of this particular cuisine and given the portions and quality of food that is served. The service is quite simple and the restaurant is actually quite small. However, I must tell you from A service perspective. It's truthfully amazing because the takeout business is extremely active. Not to mention the fact that the chef walks out and speaks to people will share anything that you want to know about Malaysian food and obviously from the quality of the food that I ate not only is his explanation thorough but my guess is his skills are incredible. As I said it is very small so it's difficult to Alpine about the ambience other than it was quite clean and given the number of whom I suspect were Malaysian people it's obviously quite popular within that community. So I take that to be a sign that this food is quite native in nature. I had a pork meal, which is only on Sundays. I spoke to the chef about it, and he explained that the preparation started one day in advance of actually serving the meal, so I understand why it is only served once a week. Although I must tell you because I lack familiarity it seemed to me that I would be hours and hours trying to replicate any of the dishes. All I can tell you is this if you are in an exploratory mood for a cuisine and have had or have not had Malaysian before I suspect this is a place to go. Quite informal, extremely fair pricing very generous portions great service very pleasant people and frankly it's a a family affair of what you will see many when you go. Quite a lovely experience.

Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. We can't wait to go back, and Tiger Noodle will happily be in regular rotation for our family! You can't go wrong!

We ordered couple dishes family style: Stir fried cabbage - 5/5, surprisingly my favorite dish of the meal. The cabbage was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch, the subtle numbing pepper added a refreshing and addictive kick. Simple but perfect. Salt and pepper crispy seafood - 4.5/5, the runner up for me. The seafood was fresh, the batter was light and crispy, and the salt and pepper seasoning was spot on. Peking duck two way - 4/5, the duck is roasted well, however, the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Instead of the usual low effort duck soup, the duck came with salt and pepper duck carcass which was crispy and delicious. Egg tofu with dried scallop sauce - 2.5/5, this was pretty bland compared to other dishes and didn't stand out. The service was a bit slow, probably because we had a late lunch, close to staffs' midday break. That said, the staffs were friendly, and we really enjoyed the food.

Atmosphere: Modern Food Overall: Scant on major components…read moreof the dishes Price: $$ Customer Service Overall: Ok Recommend: No The restaurant is clean and has a nice, modern Hong Kong-style atmosphere. The dining room feels bright and spacious, with traditional Chinese design elements, wooden tables and chairs, decorative partitions, and an open kitchen where you can see some of the activity going on behind the scenes. It has the lively feel of a busy Hong Kong food hall while still looking polished and well maintained. As far as the food goes, I thought the prices were on the high side for what we received. We ordered the spicy green beans with ground beef, but unfortunately there was very little to almost no ground beef in the dish. We brought this to our waiter's attention, and he had to speak with the owner about it. Eventually, they brought us a small cup of cooked ground beef to add to the green beans. I appreciated that they tried to correct the issue, but simply adding separately cooked beef wasn't the same. The beef didn't have the seasoning and flavor it would have had if it had originally been cooked together with the green beans. We were also already more than halfway through our meal by the time the replacement beef arrived. The sizzling black pepper beef was probably the better dish. There was a descent amount of beef, and the black pepper sauce was tasty. However, the pieces of beef were very chunky, and we weren't provided with scissors or anything to cut them into smaller, more manageable pieces. We also ordered the pepper fried shrimp with crispy rice. There was very little shrimp in the dish, especially considering the price. Taste-wise, it was fine, but nothing particularly memorable or something I would go out of my way to order again. Service was mixed. Our waiter seemed a little slow when it came to taking our order and especially when resolving the issue with the missing ground beef. On the positive side, several of the other waiters were very attentive. They stopped by our table to ask how we were doing and whether we needed more water, which we appreciated. Overall, Hong Kong Food Street has a clean and attractive atmosphere, but the food felt overpriced for the portions and execution we received. The sizzling black pepper beef had good flavor, but the other dishes were underwhelming, especially considering the prices. With better portion consistency and faster handling of customer concerns, the experience could have been much better. For the foregoing reasons, I would not return to this restaurant.
