He explained that he would have to remove the filling in order to investigate the issue and when I said I didn't want to, he backed off. I scheduled another appointment to get a new filling on the cavity and decided that I also wanted him to check out the sensitivity we had spoken about in the first visit. He told me he would conduct a procedure that would not be too costly as he was not sure exactly what the problem was and he did not want it to become to expensive for me (my insurance does not cover a lot of procedures). I am glad I asked him to check the sensitivity because it turned out to be a cavity under my filling so that day I received two fillings. The procedure was fast and he was very understanding and helpful. He was also very good at his job. He made me feel comfortable about getting the local anesthesia shot and asked me if i was ok when he saw I was uncomfortable during the procedure. I never once felt like he was trying to get more money out of me. I was not sold on some other procedures as I have been at other dentist office. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. I would totally refer this office and will definitely keep coming back. The only downside is that yes, there is a wait to see the dentist. They only have one doctor and one dental assistant. Dr. Shalomov is very busy and is going from one room to the next so be prepared to wait. However, once he is with you it all goes pretty fast and he does good work.

I specifically scheduled this appointment because I noticed a small area of buildup and wanted it properly removed. After my visit with the new dentist, I went home and found that the buildup was still there -- meaning the exact reason I came in was not addressed. What is most upsetting is that I was told my teeth looked nice, yet the dentist failed to fully address the concern I brought up. Now I am being told I need a deep cleaning, just as they have claimed in the past, while my insurance has questioned and denied it because the documentation does not support that need. I know my dental history, and I know the difference between needing routine care and being pushed toward treatment that does not match my actual condition. I even referred my coworkers to this office because I believed in the care I had received in the past. When one coworker mentioned that she also did not feel she received a proper cleaning, I chose to give this office the benefit of the doubt because I had never personally experienced an issue before. Unfortunately, after today's appointment, I can no longer say the same. I contacted the office immediately to explain my concerns. Not only was my issue not resolved, but I did not receive a call back, an apology, or even an offer to bring me back in and correct the problem. That is unacceptable and not the level of service expected from a professional healthcare office. I am requesting that this matter be properly addressed and that I receive the service I paid for. I will be contacting my insurance company to dispute this charge and report my concerns regarding the care provided.
