Don't come here! Dr. Zeylikman is the only dentist, but his nurses do most of the work. The actual…read moredental work he did on my son resulted in an infection just a week after to the point that his upper lip became inflated. Then his staff had the nerve to e-mail and call me for more money. When my husband came on 4/2/25, the price told him for the entire job, which just entailed 2 white crowns, 1 cap, and cleaning of 2 bottom teeth was $890; which he paid in full. At first the staff said $910, and then discounted it to $890 because if it was that price my husband would have chosen to go elsewhere. We never agreed to $1,850 for this job. Even if it were $910 we would have decided to go elsewhere. To charge $1,850 for 2 trips, the first of which took the dentist less than 1 hr and the 2nd trip taking less than half hour is ridiculous. Further, my daughter's cleaning, which we paid out of pocket in full the day of, this dentist had the nerve to request insurance to pay the same, claiming this bill was unpaid--double-billing.

Update since my posted review: I received a voicemail from Dr. Artin Sakhaee, citing, "Jonathan,…read morethis is Dr. Sakai. I saw your review on Yelp. I'm very upset about this after what transpired last year. Okay? I would appreciate you taking down that review." What he is referring to is when I was in crisis, experiencing severe emotional distress, grieving the suicide of my 16-year-old sister, who took her own life on December 16, 2022. He has no right to be upset because I didn't do anything wrong, nor did he bring any concerns to my attention at any point. He should be showing empathy, not attempting to manipulate me to remove my post, which is not going to work on me. This would not be an issue if some of his front desk office staff did not engage in the behaviors referenced in this review! I have been a patient of Metropolitan Smiles since roughly 2015, and since then, the front desk staff and management have gone downhill regarding patient care, professionalism, and competence. My first experience regarding disregard for patient care, lack of professionalism, and incompetence started after I was seen on April 1st, 2025, and was advised I needed a nightguard due to nighttime grinding of my teeth. Gabriel stated the office manager had to run through my insurance, and it should take about 30 days to get a reply. 30 days went by, I followed up with Gabriel again, and she advised me that the manager never ran the claim through my insurance and that she would get back to me the following Friday; however, she never did. I made a formal complaint/ attempted to get a status update about my nightguard on May 20th, 2025, via email to Natalia, whom I was advised by Gabriel is the office manager. However, I never got a reply, which is her job to reply, and address this matter, just like it was/is the job of the front desk employees to follow up with me regarding the status of my nightguard failed to perform part of their obligated duties. I was seen on November 3rd, 2025, for my dental cleaning, and upon leaving, I followed up regarding my nightguard and was advised I would get a call by the end of the day. I have not received any update, and the front desk staff have failed to perform all of their duties and continue to display incompetence, unprofessionalism, and disregard for patient care and the overall well-being of patients. Dr. Artin Sakhaee is a great dentist; however, as the owner of this business, he is allowing the front desk staff and the office manager to damage the integrity of this business, which is not bad for business. He needs to make some serious changes at this office, which includes the firing of the front desk staff who breached their duty and failed to perform patient follow-ups, which is a very basic duty and not that difficult to do.

Absolutely disgusting experience. This office cares about one thing: money…read more I paid $6,000 out of pocket for Invisalign. WITHOUT my knowledge or consent, they also billed my insurance $1,500 for what was clearly cosmetic treatment, even though my insurance does not cover cosmetic dental. I was never informed this would happen. That is completely unethical and feels extremely deceptive. Then after I finished my trays, I was told I couldn't move forward with refinements, despite being within the five-year refinement period that was part of my treatment. So after taking my money, they suddenly didn't want to help. This office has zero transparency and zero accountability. Once they get paid, you are no longer a priority. What makes it worse is that I had already seen the negative reviews about how they treat patients and how defensive and dismissive they are in their responses. That should have been my warning sign. I ignored it and gave them a chance, big mistake. I ended up transferring my case elsewhere and, after spending a total of $7,500 there, the new provider treated me with professionalism and integrity and helped me without additional charges. That alone shows the difference in ethics. This office should be ashamed of how they operate. Patients are not walking wallets. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values care over cash.

This is a full care family business, not some walk-in dentist storefront. Three women are at your…read moreservice. The senior is Miryem, next is her daughter Dr. Bitton and also her daughter-in-law Yelena. They serve a wide range of people from an MTA bus driver to a lawyer with the same care and professionalism. They take virtually all types of payment and insurance. The office is pleasant and the staff is caring and courteous. As for me, I am not an easy patient and have long experience with dental work since I was a child. Now I'm an old cranky guy. I did not inherit the genes that produce beautiful teeth. I have known the owner for 14 years when she did my first case. I was treated by all three doctors this year. I would put them up against anybody in the field. When you finish your work and it does not feel quite right, you can return until it feels right. There is no shoddy work here. They could be on Park Avenue treating the rich and famous , but they are here in Queens, New York. In closing, Miryem is a migrant success story . She came to New York with language challenges (all textbooks in English) and yet she persevered. She is an American success story and humble about it all. MAY, 2025
