The shop is attached to the adult version, simply NRO, and both sides sell lovely higher-end brands of beautiful wears for summering on the Vineyard. They carry a particularly cute line from a company called Rickshaw that features traditional block print designs on floaty, summery dresses and tops and a great line of pajamas called Hatley's. If you're on a budget, this probably isn't the shop for you as dresses for 18-month-olds start in the $50 range and some even go for triple that. However, the jammies I mentioned are super cute and retail for $35. A little pricey, but well made and well worth it. The clerks were stand-offish, unhelpful and cold, which I find off-putting especially in a children's store. In fact, the gentleman behind the counter actually scared my 21-month-old niece so much, she ran to me saying, "I"m scared!" If you're going to work in a children's shop, one of the most important requirements should obviously be 'must like children'. I mean, c'mon. Other than the unfriendly service, I think NRO Kids is a charming little shop and definitely fun to pop into for a bit of ooh-in and aaah-ing.

After he was born I ordered a towel w/ sailboats and his name on it. I ended up calling to order it rather than going through the site because I don't like PayPal, which they use. It's a long story. Don't ask. The woman I spoke to was friendly and warm. She was a little apologetic that it would take maybe three weeks, I told her not to worry about it, that I'd waited this long to contact her and could wait a little longer. We agreed the baby wouldn't know the difference. The towel arrived while we were in KC and I opened it last night when we got home. It is a gorgeous blue, soft and beautifully crafted. I just love it and so will Mommy and Baby, I think. Enclosed was a sweet note w/ another apology for the wait and a coupon for a discount on my next order. Well, I have a little great niece who will be turning 2 this summer and could use a towel w/ her name on it. I look forward to choosing the color and design. This will not be my last purchase here.
