We went here for a beer Sunday night and loved the variety of beers. There are multiple fridges filled with beers organized alphabetically by brewery. The cans are a bit pricey, but if you get a 4-pack they are reasonably priced. They also have a little pick up window for if you call to order a 4-pack. You have to be vaccinated to sit inside, so come prepared with your vax card. My boyfriend is in love with this place. He is a huge beer connoisseur and very picky. Yet, whenever we visit Beermiscuous, he always leaves with over a dozen bottles/cans of beer that he's hand picked from the coolers here. The prices here are not cheap but not overly expensive. I think they offer a discount on each beer if you buy a 6 pack and take them to go. Each time we've visited the establishment is very clean and the music is very good. It reminds me of a coffee shop except the patrons are drinking beer instead of coffee. They also have free wifi and a designated party space that you can rent. I have spent many evenings at this bar, enjoying fantastic beer, meeting with friends and family, chatting with the bartenders, etc. I don't even bother looking at the menu or in the cases because Austin knows what I like and always pours me something delicious. Did you know that Beermiscuous is employee-owned? Did you know that Beermiscuous was purchased by the employees in March, 2020--aka THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME TO BUY A BAR? The Beermiscuous staff have spent the last year going above and beyond to keep their business open and keep serving customers. They developed and opened an online store. They figured out how to do contactless pick-ups. They partnered with a local delivery service. They got a sidewalk permit and set up a drinking area outside to allow at least a few customers to drink on-premise. And now, finally, they are open again to the public. They have been extremely fastidious about health safety through the entire year. The staff is currently fully vaccinated but still masks up, just in case. Yes, it blows to have to wear a mask when you're at a bar. But them's the rules... and not Beermiscuous's rules either, but the city's. The Beermiscuous owners have bent over backward to get everything up and running again to service Chicagoans. SO MANY BEERS There's a menu of a great selection, we opted for a flight, and there are more than 100 canned and bottled beers in the refrigerators. We arrived right after they opened so deliveries were happening. We took some time to get settled and looked at the menu. We went to Los 3 Ponchos bought food and brought it to Beermiscuous where we enjoyed the atmosphere and libations. Beermiscuous is a large, long room. The front and back of the room are warmed by windows. The decor is dark and mature: rich woods, black boards, stools and plush chairs. It's uncluttered and spacious. The ceiling at the front of the room is domed and lined with narrow planks like the inside of a barrel. There are several refrigerator cases filled with a bajillion kinds of bottled and canned beers. M took her time browsing the bottled beers and I went to the menu that showed beers on tap. I ordered two baby-sized glasses of beer: one with apricot and another with pineapple. Scrumptious delumptious! We sat at the bar where we could watch volleyball on a discretely placed wall television. Other folks were playing games in the back with some well-behaved children. Two people were sitting at high tables in the front sipping beer and using free wifi on their laptops. The guy working at Beermiscuous was a young hipster. He was friendly when it came to discussing the volleyball game, but I wish he had been a bit more out-going when it came to discussing beer. He didn't offer any help, information, or suggestions when either of us was making selections. Our three beers cost $11 (two baby sized tap beers and one large bottle). Love this place! It's essentially a more intimate coffee shop vibe, but for beer. They have a HUGE selection of cans/bottles, which you can take to go or crack open on premises. They'll also knock off $4 from the listed price per beer when you take them to go. They have ~16 rotating draft beers/ciders (some local, some from around the US...but all from breweries), and offer specials throughout the week. I first came across Beermiscuous on Groupon. I purchased "the tasting experience for two" for only $18. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. I was first approached by the friendly "beerista" who redeemed my coupon and showed us the wide selection of beers. There were 12 beers on tap and we were able to sample 8. I was impressed by this little trendy spot. It was like a coffee shop but with beer instead. There was a lounge area in the back of the store with colorful pillows, a small fireplace, and a TV in the front. There were wooden tables and chairs throughout the store to sit. The store was dimly lit with mostly natural lighting. They offer free wifi, free pretzels and board games to play. You also have the option to purchase a Chicagoland Map of Breweries that is updated every year. If you are looking for a place to get some work done or just somewhere to meet up with some friends in the Lakeview area, I would definitely come here!! P.S. If you're a craft beer lover, Beermiscuous is a must-stop shop! While most bars have a relatively limited selection of beers, Beermiscuous has 16 taps AND several hundred canned/bottled beers to choose from. Both selections rotate frequently so there's always something new to try and they do a good job of highlighting unique beers that come through. The bartenders are really well versed in everything and are able to help out with suggestions if you feel overwhelmed by all your options. You also have the option to take anything from the coolers 'to-go' and you take $4 off the list price. They offer a small selection of snacks, but they do allow you to bring in outside food so feel free to pick up a Gino's East pizza or something else from the nearby restaurants. They also have a great party space downstairs that's free to reserve and is outfit with a large tv (with cable), speakers, dart board and private restrooms. You'll get a solid workout going up and down the stairs to get your beers. The only downside that I can think of is that the close relatively early compared to bars--at 12pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Beermiscuous is a great beer bar in Lincoln Park! I love that it's fashioned after a coffee shop with some comfy couches, a fireplace, and tables and chairs. I've been to Beermiscuous a few times and I enjoy the vast selection of beverages most of all. Unfortunately I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease so most beers are not an option for me anymore but this bar still has plenty of cider options and even some wine. If you're a beer lover you'll definitely find a local beer here you'll enjoy and you don't need to worry that they won't have your style. Because they have everything! The staff are always friendly and helpful, the crowd is usually quite relaxed, and the selection is unmatched. I'd say Bitter Pops in Roscoe Village rivals Beermiscuous however the seating at Bitter Pops is nowhere near as comfortable. I give this place 5 stars BUT I wish they'd get a few more gluten free beers in the fridge. I love a good cider but sometimes a beer is good too! More couches would be good too! read more

Great, unique spot. The logline of "it's like a coffee shop for craft beer" covers the general idea and if that sounds appealing, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a place for solo beer drinking, this is the place -- I come in by myself and there's no stigma or anything weird about it at all. It's nice to have a place that isn't my apartment to sit with a beer and a book, they have comfortable couches and even a legit fireplace which is amazing on cold Chicago evenings. The 16 taps have a wide variety of beer styles (and prices... you'd have to be a pretty dedicated beer nerd to spend $12 on a 12-oz beer) so it's easy to find something you like and/or try a bunch of different stuff. They also have a zillion bottled/canned beers that you can take home if you want to use them as a liquor store rather than a "cafe." I want to highlight a great little piece of customer service I received here. One of the guys (maybe the owner, not sure) saw me reading a book after they had dimmed the lights for mood, and he offered to un-dim them so I would have more light to read by. I didn't take him up on it because it wasn't necessary to go to that trouble, but I really appreciated the offer and it's so impressive that he would ask. Obviously not treatment you'd get at a typical bar. My one minor quibble is with the decor, which is like half rustic wood/brick and half antiseptic white tile. I guess the clash was an intentional choice but I don't think it works aesthetically, the tile part looks like a bathroom to me. They have a lot of board games, and every Tuesday (in April at least) they have a visiting brewery on site with a rep handing out samples. It was Forbidden Root when I was there. The bartender/manager was really nice and cool and I talked to her a lot. Also, it's right by Gino's East so you can order their food and eat it in the bar. I can only name about four bars in Chicago with the utmost excellent customer service, but at the very top of this list is Beermiscuous. The team that works here aren't just extraordinarily friendly--they're cicerone experts too, with several dozen years of combined experience in curating the ideal beer-drinking experience. I held my birthday here in May and had the most excellent time in the private party spaces that they provide, with TV and audio-link-ups. Besides that, they select excellent music for a chill, cafe setting. So I can't boast that I've had all the 350 beers that they have available, but the prolific choices make for an excellent night out or a nice, afternoon beer, regardless.
