Good place for those who like baseball history. It's literally next to Wrigley Field and is open even when no game is being played. Lucky Dorr has reasons to come besides baseball, and you don't have to be a fan to have a good time. A lot of choices from local breweries. There's also some ballpark style food like pretzels and junk. Curious about this, we made our way here when there wasn't a game. It was actually pretty chill and laid back with almost no one at the bar and patio. This is located next to the Cubs statues. Go check those out whether you're a fan of the team or just baseball in general. Those who don't care about the loser team can still enjoy the offerings. It's about $8 a pint, which is a bit of a ripoff, but expected with the location. There's selections from local breweries such as Pollyanna. Also there's food. It's $8 for a big ass Pretzel. Even if you don't like the Cubs, it's a nice little bar. It's open during the season even when there's not a game. The beer is a good sample of the local breweries, plus they have pretzels that are good for sharing. read more

We were in town for the Dead and Company shows and hit this place up. Their beer is excellent and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Door guy had beer recommendations for us, so we already knew what to order. Nice that they were still serving in actualy glassware despite being really busy. Hit this spot if you are a craft beer fan and near Wrigley. read more

Came here before a 1pm Cubs game on a Wednesday. There was plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, the staff is great, and there is a wide variety of beer for everyone. My boyfriend got the Cubbie Gummy beer and enjoyed it and I got the Mahalo and thought it was the coolest beer I've ever had. It tastes super tropical and I'd recommend it to everyone to at least try out, despite the shocking turquoise color. Prices are fair for the area, if not even cheaper than other bars. I will for sure stop by here next time I go to a Cubs game. read more

I'm glad I live only a 15-minute walk away because I could go on and on about how much I really like coming here. They have a small but delicious selection of local craft beer and the staff are all extremely welcoming and friendly. Would recommend anyone stop by if you're in the area and Thursday's they have pups on the patio so if you want to see a bunch of cute dogs while drinking a beer, this is the spot! Great little bar next to the left field entrance of Wrigley Field. Built near the site of the original groundskeepers quarters, this bar is named after a previous head groundskeeper of the stadium. This is a great pre-game stop for anyone going to a game as it's a little hidden and this, not overly crowded prior to game time compared to other watering holes around Wrigleyville. Also, and this is key, the bar serves a great variety of libations from local Chicago area breweries that are ONLY available at the Lucky Dorr or the home brewery itself- Begyle, Noon Whistle, Half Acre, and Revolution to name a few. read more

Better than average selection of beer on draught for the neighborhood. Interesting collaborations with local breweries. Small space but fairly comfortable and very convenient to the stadium's NW entrance across from the fire house. $10 draughts across the board. Don't look for the sign on Waveband-It's around the corner, visible from Gallagher Way. read more

Lucky Dorr is a small bar right outside Wrigley in Gallagher Way. It may be small but the beer selection is huge! They have craft beer and some only served at Lucky Dorr that are Cubs themed. They serve some food here but I've never tried but from I could tell they were decent sized portions. If you can find a spot or okay with standing before a game, Lucky Dorr is a great place to go! read more

Staff was rude! Thought a lot of themselves. Waited 20 minutes for a stale pretzel with gross cheese. We ended up going right next door to the bar - great space and staff was awesome!! Would never go back to Lucky Door - too many other cool places in that area. Don't waste your time. read more

Love this place ... all staff are very customer-service focused from behind the bar to the front of the house gents who monitor game day and other crowds. In an earlier review that mentioned price points being high, the owner asserted they charged market value regarding other adjacent venues in Wrigleyville. But, guess what: last week, pints went from $8 to $10 (this was after the owner rebutted the previous reviewer I cited above). This prince jump mostly hurts the staff who depend on the tips that were probably more plentiful when the pints were at $8. A 25% increase seems just plain greedy. Sorry Management. New craft beer bar that just opened right outside Wrigley. In the same building as Brick House, but on the east side of the building. They have several quality craft taps, and many that are brewed especially just for here and can't be found anywhere else. There's like 7? of those. And they also have shots, and some snacks. Granted, all the beers are $10, but connected with Wrigley that's what youre usually gonna pay, and at least now you get a quality craft beer that you might not be able to get anywhere else. Good news: Awesome selection of Chicago craft beers. There's several local breweries you probably haven't even heard of on their menu. Bad news: WAY overpriced. Everything is 9+ dollars for a 12 oz pour. It's like they're copying the beer pricing from inside the ballpark. Also the place is tiny and has a lovely view of a brick wall... I'm sure tourists (aka Cubs fans) will lap this place up but I'd encourage locals to go to the breweries themselves to try their beer. read more

Great hidden (ish) gem. The manager was great, friendly, approachable and turned on the Cubs sound for us outside the bar, as we were sitting on their mini patio. The beer selection was pretty good. And the crowd was more chill on an away game day than I had expected. Would def check it out again. read more

Small inside and bathrooms are next to the patio however, the beer is great. Many selections that you may or may not like however, so different from the usual taste around town; which is that all the crafts are starting to taste similar. You know the feeling when you go to a place and you try a few beer tastes and it's hard to decide because they all taste similar - not here! The owner told us that all the beers with the horseshoe symbol are unique to Dorr, personally hand selected and negotiated with the brewers. Adjacent to the 'friendly confines', in the new 'Cubs Park" means it must be packed in season. First time there - would definitely be returning, soon. read more

This place is great and the location is perfect right outside of Wrigley, and any place that allows dogs not only on the patio but inside is a win for me! The bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable with all the different brews. The only downside is the beer is $10 a piece which is a bit pricey even for Chicago. We will be back because you can't say no to a good patio! read more

Great place if you're into craft beer. Plenty of exclusive beers you can only get here and not at the brewery/taproom where it's from. Only reason it's not a 5 star place is because on home Cubs games they charge $10 a beer. Non Cubs home games and you can get beers for around $6 - pretty standard. read more

Highly recommend! Extremely friendly bartenders and managers. The beers are delicious and unique, they aren't serving any average bud light! The spot is low-key keeping it chill and neighborhood friendly, even during a cubs game! 110% dog friendly providing treats and water! They also stream the 'movie in the park' in the bar as well!! I love this place. I live a block away, and it's a just a great place to buy a pint. Niilo does a bang-up job working with breweries to get the best stuff. Only reason I'm deducting a star is I think the beers are just a touch too expensive. Maybe charge less when Cubs aren't playing? Also, a few more snack items would be super. Maybe some nuts or popcorn? The pretzel is great, but sometimes you don't want to eat a whole loaf of bread with your liquid bread. read more

A very small and quaint bar right next to Wrigley Stadium. Since it wasn't a game night, the place only a had a few people there. A lot of different types of beers ranging from light ales to stouts. The music there was at a reasonable level so you don't have to scream at the person sitting next to you. Great place where you can try a new drink every time you go. read more

Excellent neighborhood pub with a wide variety of small batch local brews from around the Chicago area, found only at Lucky Dorr. We did a pre-game beer tasting with Niilo - it was awesome! He is passionate about his beers and the local breweries he works with. Very small space, with local, non-commercial feel. East side of new Cubs office building, next to Wrigley's 3rd base entrance. This was the best place I've ever been to in the whole world!! I'm not even a beer drinker and the beer was incredible!! Also-the pretzel is a must. The cheese sauce and mustard is incredible. Make sure you ask for Niilo, because I tried to leave 2 hours ago and am still here hanging out because both him and this place are awesome! read more

Named for an iconic Wrigley groundskeeper, Lucky Dorr is a bar and restaurant focused on the craft beer experience. We opened July, 2017 and located in The Park At Wrigley.

Meet the Business Owner: Matthias M.

Matthias began working at restaurants at age 14 and formalized his training at the Culinary Institute of America. He went on to refine his skills and direction in the years following culinary school at Chicago restaurants including Carlos', the 95th, LaTour at the Park Hyatt, Charlie Trotter's and Gabriel's. He spent 14 years at Charlie Trotter's, directing all culinary, service and strategic operations. In 2011, Matthias struck out on his own, founding Folkart, and the rest is history. Matthias is as passionate about giving back as he is about hospitality. He is the co-founder of Pilot Light, a Chicago-based charity that partners chefs and teachers, using food to support effective teaching and learning in the classroom.

She kept telling us we needed to chug, and I kindly told her I wasn't chugging anything because we already paid and I can literally just leave. She brought up the bar closing soon (we already heard the very loud announcement for last call). She proceeded to blame it on having a bad day. Mind you, someone next to me literally just came in, and was being served. She tried to back out of it and kept repeating we'll know when it's time to go. I'm not sure what kind of establishment this is, but she didn't say anything to anyone else but us, the only two Black women at the bar at the time. I don't understand why she felt like it was okay to direct her "bad day" at us, sitting there calmly with two half drunken beers, while there were plenty of other people still up and active at the bar. The behavior displayed, completely unacceptable.

Being the area I made reservations which I can tell you is HIGHLY recommended, if on a game day. I cannot speak for things on a day that's not one but this was and they were booming with a line out the door. We were sat promptly upon arrival and greeted quickly by our server. She was incredibly kind and even seeked information for us regarding parking in the area, thank you! We started with a cocktail and a draft beer, I had the Dovetail on draft and they are very good and local! Appetizer was a bit of a let down, we ordered pretzel bites, which seemed like the ones you buy from Walmart, not fresh at all, queso wasn't bad tho Entrees were on point tho! My rigatoni was cooked perfectly and the bolognese was full of flavor, my wife got her burger and had no complaints on her end. Overall not a bad experience, I would like to try them again on a day that's not a game day in the future and maybe ask for a suggestion on appetizers next time as I feel that one was a complete skip. The restaurant and all three bars were packed with people taking refuge from the weather, and Swift Tavern was actually a great place to ride it out before our Mumford & Sons concert. Huge shoutout to our server, Marianne. Even while handling a crazy number of tables, she stayed friendly, professional, efficient, and even kept everyone updated on the weather. The vibe was definitely loud (understandably) and our back-corner table had more of a retro diner feel than the upscale ambiance we expected. Food was solid: the warm bread board was a great starter, the steak salads were good (although the steak consistency varied a bit), and the warm chocolate cookie dessert was tasty--though the soft serve reminded me a little of DQ. Cocktails were strong, but with an $18 espresso martini and a $24 premium dirty martini, you're definitely paying Chicago prices. Overall, we spent about two hours there waiting for the skies to clear, and despite the chaos of the storm, the staff handled an incredibly busy night with grace. Good food, strong drinks, and excellent service when it mattered most.

He's been certified for 3 yrs* Upon walking up to the establishment with my fiancé and service dog, there was an officer there wearing a badge. He acknowledged how cute Rory (my service dog) was and stated he was a service dog. He then asked if he could pet Rory, I said yes that would be fine with me. Another gentleman, not sure what role he played at the establishment, approached us while the officer was still there. He began questioning me and Rory's legitimacy on being a service dog since he just saw the officer pet him. I informed him that the officer had asked and I said it was ok. He then said "we have a lot of people that pretend their dogs are service dogs to get them in"; I replied I have his badge and the dog trainer's(dog training elite) number to contact her. He allowed us in. Less than a minute latter when my finance, Rory, and I were walking to a table, the bouncer/manager re-approaches us and says we have to leave predicated on the notion I let an officer say hi and pet Rory after the officer had asked. The law allows establishments to only ask 2 questions when it comes to service animals; 1) Is it a legitimate service animal? 2) What service is the service animal providing? I was only asked #1, if Rory was a service animal, I am allowed to give my service animal a break on occasion and I decide who can and can't say hi to him. Have never been discriminated like this in my life. And will never be returning to the facility.

I'm not sure how I've missed seeing this place considering that it's HUGE, but I got to stop by one…read morenight during the week and check them out. I love that their brewery is front and center and that they actually offer tours of it and the beers they make (and regularly rotate) go perfectly with their menu. They also have trivia nights, live music, daily specials, happy hour deals and are a cool option for if you need somewhere to watch a game. My favorite were the garlic parm wings and the berry cider that I had. Nice spot!
