The deli is one of them with the food they produce being well prepared and flavorful. The donuts are fresh and especially for a grocery store pretty good. Are they a national chain? No. But if you want one of those you'll be driving an hour or more. So their prices can be beat, but not if you factor in the time and fuel to get to another larger brand store. Overall they get a thumbs up in my book. As for the stupid, ignorant, not too nice, unprofessional staff alluded to by another reviewer, I haven't experienced that. But you know, you get what you give, and the staff has always been friendly and professional with me.

Actually this is a Amish owned general store that serves a Friday night buffet and Saturday morning buffet. And weekday hamburgers. But we've only so far had the Friday night buffet. So let me tell you.......... First off you have to travel up through beautiful country to get there across the Koocanusa Lake then up the Yak Valley, and before we got there on the side of the road was some Amish children selling baked goods with their mother. Of course we stopped and practically bought them out. Once there you go into the store and you are directed into the back where there is a buffet set up. A salad bar then the first time we visited it was meatloaf, baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, homemade bread, two kinds of pie and beverages all you can eat. Second time basically the same menu except no meat loaf, it was roasted pork loin and baked beans instead of green beans. Then when you go up to the grocery store to check out you are tempted by all of their homemade goodies. Bread, cookies, pie, jelly and all of their sundries in their general store along with handmade items. We went away with bags full of all kinds of things. I won't go into details but don't pass up this fantastic opportunity to have this amazing experience, you will talk about it for months and months if not years!!!!

The restaurant can get very crowded and everything is made to order so there may be a wait to get one's meal. There is outside seating and eating, and it is a very dog friendly restaurant. Suffice it to say, I will continue to make the 30+ minute drive on a regular basis.

It wasn't like any scone I've ever had it was more like thin cornbread cut in a triangle. It was light and soft unlike most scones but was delicious. Then I took 2 German chocolate whoopee pies, 2 oatmeal cream filled whoopee pies, 2 margarita cup cakes, 2 brownies, 2 blueberry bread pudding cupcakes and 3 peach turnovers. The German chocolate whoopee pies were a chocolate overload and the pecan coconut filled was perfect, these were a hit especially with my chocolate loving hubby. He also enjoyed the oatmeal whoopee pie very flavorful lot of spice taste. As I write this I have not tried the margarita cupcakes or the brownies if necessary I'll up date the review. I did taste the blueberry bread pudding cupcake and it was ok a little dry but tasty. The peach turnovers were made from a puff pastry type crust they were light and airy full of peach filling, very good. I'll be back but maybe not so may items as they averaged around $4 each.
