This grill, it appears, to be in a converted warehouse space. It is likely the whole block was a warehouse which was sectioned into separate commercial properties. It has 20' ceilings with tin ceiling tiles and nice industrial wood flooring. They have live music and karaoke nights. They have a nice selection of food. Seafood, burgers, quesadillas, wings, salads, wraps ... I tried their mushroom Swiss burger which was huge, juicy and delicious. I needed to cut it in half to figure a way to attack it and a lot of napkins. A fun fact: it is the State line grill because it is in Bristol TN but you cross the street and you are in Bristol VA! If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in to try it out.

Seating is a mix of booths and tables and we selected a booth next to the window. Our server came right away and took our drink orders. There is also a board next to the hostess stand with listed specials. Looking over the menu, these were just regular menu items at regular prices. Our server returned and took our food order. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, which was a little longer than expected. The bbq pork sandwich was dry and did not have a lot of flavor. The bun was fine but the dry meat made it harder to chew and took a lot of water to finish. In addition, the homemade chips were very crispy and salty. This plate left me parched even after drinking three glasses of water. The burger, however, was good. The meat was fairly juicy and toppings were fresh. The same homemade chips accompanied the burger and were also crispy and salty. The bathroom was in poor condition and appeared not to have been cleaned in some time. This was brought to our server's attention, who did not seem too concerned. Maybe this is a good place if you are seeking out music and alcohol, but there are many other options if all you want is lunch.

The entrance is along the side of the building through a set of double doors. Although this area could get full when they are really crowded, there is a decent amount of room to get through. Walking in, we were greeted by the hostess right away. The dining area was mostly full for lunch but there were several tables in the bar area so we were seated right away. We noticed the overhead music was rather loud, maybe because we were in the bar area, but we could still talk without shouting. Our server, who was also the bartender, came by right away for the drink order. We asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. A different server brought our drinks in about a minute and the bartender returned shortly and took our food order. We ordered off the "3 for me" limited special menu, each selecting one of the two different burgers. For the appetizer, we selected the chips and salsa and a cup of the loaded potato soup. Both arrived within a couple minutes. The chips and salsa are average at best. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce with some cumin added and the chips were cold, thin, and from a bag. There were a lot of chips though, so I guess that is good. The loaded potato soup was also average. It was somewhat creamy and there were a couple small pieces of potato included, but the volume was very small. No more than four or five spoonfuls. The burgers arrived after about 10 minutes, brought by another server. Both the QP and Smashburger were larger than expected. Each was cooked completely without being dry and were seasoned nicely. The other included items were fresh and plentiful. The bun also tasted fresh. The only real complaint here is there was more ketchup and mustard on the QP than necessary, which made a bit of a mess while eating. The accompanying fries were hot, fresh, and plentiful. Both burgers were quite good and certainly worth the special menu price, even with the less than stellar appetizers. Our bartender server was very good, as were the other two who brought the drinks and entrees. He remained watchful without intruding and made sure we had everything we needed, checking after each item was served. This was a good lunch experience.

Then the delicious gravy that was smoke filled with real smoke. At least it tasted real. Fake smoke is gross. A perfect smoked brisket. Not much fat but perfect flavor. I added a little cracked pepper from the table and it was spectacular. And for the burger. How good was it? My wife ate the whole thing with her fingers getting a lot of messy. She is the prim and proper one of us. She left prim and proper at the door for the amazing taste. While she did order fries she said she wanted to try the grits. And we decided that this is our big meal of the day. So we finished the feast with the banana pudding. Large enough for two or three. It was our first time dining here, and it exceeded every expectation. Because of the summer heat, our company had only packed casual clothes. Even though it's a high-end, upscale steakhouse, we were treated with total warmth and hospitality--our attire was never an issue. When rain cut our walk through town short, we arrived an hour ahead of our reservation, but the host team graciously seated us without a hitch. The real star of our evening, however, was our waiter, Jayden. Simply put, Jayden was exceptional. From the moment we sat down until we walked out the door, he made us feel like the only table in the entire restaurant. He was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond at every turn. Every part of the meal was outstanding--from the expertly crafted drinks to the delicious prime rib dinner and dessert. We even ended up bringing home a bottle of their exclusive bourbon! To top off an already perfect night, Jayden helped us celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary (which we hadn't even mentioned beforehand) with a wonderful, thoughtful touch.
