Great food, great coffee. My go-to order is their turkey sandwich and an iced latte, but you really can't miss here

What a cute little gem hidden in up and coming St. Joe. The neighborhood has seen better days, but…read morerecently has seen a boost in new shops and restaurants with a hipster feel. The cafe is reminiscent of small neighborhood coffee shops, mixed with Italia touches. Tables are scattered throughout, with a hidden nook for private conversations. Their menu is diversified, but still offers the standard cafe offerings. The chicken salad was sampled on this trip , and had an herby edge to it. The broccoli soup is slightly watery, but great flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and welcomed long conversations. A major plus? The space can be rented by the hour. They also allow outside food/drink. Unheard of , but greatly appreciated. We used it for them for an event today, and were so overwhelmed by the owners/staff. Very accommodating and easy to work with. Great space, and easily customized for your event. Thanks to the Pronto cafe staff- you made our day easier!

I found my jam here. My very favorite combination is half of the turkey bacon club (on croissant)…read moreand half of the chicken Caesar salad. The turkey bacon club: The bacon on the flaky, buttery croissant was smoky and wonderful. The turkey was plentiful. And the cheese was melty. The mayo, lettuce and toms work well on this sandwich. I will definitely have this sandwich again! The chicken Caesar salad: The lettuce was fresh and the Parmesan was plentiful. The Caesar dressing was perfect. The croutons really are homemade--and were my favorite part. I will definitely have this salad again. I've had their signature cranberry/nut salad, chicken salad sandwich and tuna salad sandwich before--all are pretty good but I don't crave them like I will the two items above. The latte was good. I love their coffee. The ambiance is beautiful. The tile in the main room and the different tile in the bathroom are both gorgeous. Good service too. This is a great little unique coffee shop to have a nice lunch!!

Deviant Kava is a magical little spot in downtown Parkville. Wes and team are truly the best, and have created a sense of community here. Their coffee and Kava are epic, and I'm obsessed with the homemade syrups that can go in either. Oh- and it's dog friendly! Estes and I love that ! Bula!

I appreciate that this place seemed to embody the culture of the drink. The owner, Wes, was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in his customers having a good experience. One star off because prices aren't listed. I don't understand why places do this, and when I asked about it the owner said it's more common than not to not have prices listed. This is completely untrue in my experience. He then said that his place was cheaper than most. Also, untrue in my personal experience. But then again, this place is in Parkville so *shrug*. Now, the ($8!) latte I did order was delicious. So, there is that. I was also given some Kava to try, but it wasn't something I particularly enjoyed - neither the taste, nor the lidocaine-like experience of numbing my mouth. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out, though!

Kansas City has been a fun place to visit once in awhile especially to see a concert. We happened…read moreto be staying near by this cafe and wanted to check it out. We loved the little set up with a great amount of seating, a clean bathroom, and outlets for people who want to study or get some work done. We were a little hungry and got the empanadas and both tried the Yerba mate. We've never had the traditional yerba mate and were excited we could try it here. Once our order was ready one of the employees was happy to explain to us how to properly drink the yerba mate. She was patient, kind, and professional the whole time. There's definitely a trick to drinking it without getting the tea leaves through the straw. As we enjoyed our snack and drink we could tell the caffeine kicks in a little later. So, if you're up to trying traditional yerba mate, be aware that you'll get a gradual burst of energy a little later. I personally loved the decor and the atmosphere here. They had little knick knacks you could purchase, a small refrigerator with items to take with you as well. I got a couple of key chains for my sister and myself and my boyfriend and I have already noted that we want to come back here the next time we're in Kansas City!
