    Checkerboard in the coffee shop

Stopped by this cute little coffee shop in quaint little downtown Weston to pass some time. Ordered an iced cafe mocha sub almond milk and sat at the window to read. Place stayed pretty busy and the window seat had a lovely view of the busy little downtown. Coffee was good, little pricey. Shop offered some merchandise and little pastries. Definitely a nice place to grab a coffee and check out the historic little downtown.

Pros: The customer service was great. I attended the AppleFest here and the coffee shop was crowded - everyone needed an afternoon pick-me-up it seemed. The baristas kept pace and the workers served with a smile. The place had cute little decor and the fact that they had a small lit tree up made me happy :) Cons: I ordered a chai latte with a shot of espresso. It came out to be a little over 6 dollars. Kinda on the pricey side but I'm all about supporting local business. Taste wise: I'd skip it. I was disappointed as it kinda had a sort of bland taste, no real spices. I barely tasted the espresso shot, which I didn't mind so much but generally with a dirty chai, you have to taste one or the other... but sadly, I didn't. Maybe I'll be back again to try their coffee if I'm ever up north again. But it just kinda left me disappointed and not all that satisfied.

What a great little spot to grab coffee!! We were in town for a wedding and stopped in to caffeinate before heading home. The vibe in here is awesome! It's cozy and clean, the coffee was a bit lighter than I prefer but still a good flavor, and the staff was incredibly friendly. You know a place is good if they call a good majority of their customers by name when they see them walk in. I wish we lived closer so this could be my morning go to!

Coffee shop with small lunch options like chicken tortilla soup. I was recommended the S'more coffee and it was actually very good. I could taste every flavor in it without overwhelming sweetness. Local art is featured in here along with woodwork, like a walnut bench.

This is a cute coffee shop! I love all of the local art that's up front too. I ordered the weston raspberry mocha, which was rich in flavor and so good! The girl working was so sweet! They had a couch and some chairs that we sat around in for a little bit before going out to shop around. They are a roasterie so you can buy a bag of their coffee beans to take home which is awesome! I will definitely be back to pick some up! Alresdy regretting not getting some before heading back home.

A really cool and tasty local coffee shop. Normally I go to Weston for the unique shops but this will now be added on my list to get a cup of coffee and maybe a homemade pastry before I leave town.

$4.00 for an ice tea? Come on ... not even Starbucks or the airport coffee shops charge that much. Local resident.

I stop in there several times a week, staff is very friendly and it's a cozy spot. I usually get a pastry and an iced coffee, no complaints!

When I have out of towners visiting, I love taking them to Rochester for coffee and taking a walk in English Landing Park. It's the perfect Parkville morning. My husband loves their cold brew (and beers), I love their London Fogs. He gets their breakfast burrito, I get their protein balls when they have them. Their pastries, particularly their scones, are very delicious as well. The staff is usually kind and helpful, but can get stressed on weekend mornings which is totally understandable. Weekends bring a lot of families and small children. They can tend to take over the interior train car seating which can be tough. But generally we have no issue finding a seat for 2. My favorite is sitting outside in nice weather, especially on a nice evening for a little after dinner drink.

I live in the area and do enjoy my coffee, so I drove to Parkville intentionally to try this place…read moreout. Cute, unique venue! I stopped in for some coffee and a pastry, so this is not a review based on their beer or sandwiches. And I ate and drank in the venue to ensure I got a good feel for the vibe. It was a cool November afternoon when I came in and unfortunately, I didn't ever feel warm enough to take off my coat. One of my expectations for sitting in a coffee shop is that it has a cozy feel, but the sun shining in the south-facing windows and my coat were the primary sources of warmth for me. I'm also glad I was wearing some more substantial shoes than usual, otherwise my feet would've been cold too. I did decide to sit in the main building where you place your order, so I was not in one of the adjoining train cars. Women's Bathroom was clean and a single stall, so there's plenty privacy. I ordered a pourover coffee and it was presented beautifully and tasted nice. I know pourover cups do taste different than regular drip coffee, but they offer only limited coffees as pourover options, and one of those coffees is what they offered as their drip. The two pourover options available on this day weren't that different based on their flavor profiles as described on their bags, which was a bummer. I think doing pourovers should allow your patrons to have a wider selection if what is available via drip isn't to their liking. Maybe the local Parkville patrons only enjoy a particular style of coffee. ‍Unfortunately, their offerings weren't particularly enticing to me bc they were all the same. Don't get me wrong, it was good coffee, but I prefer lighter roasts with a more acidic profile to the standard medium roast with a nutty flavor. I'd recommend that all coffees be available for pourover options as I would hope there would be enough demand to grind through the rest of an open bag by offering it as a rotating drip option, but maybe the demand is not there. If not, at least make sure the options are different. I did look at their whole bean coffees for sale and do think I'll give their Westside a shot. I do appreciate that they put the roasting dates on the bags they have for sale in the shop so you know you can get something that is fresh. The Wildberry Poptart I ordered was delightful though! Sweet icing, buttery crust, and a tart filling that wasn't overpowering. If you like pastries, give this a try. Service staff were very friendly, but I do recommend that all baristas be familiar with flavor profiles of all the coffees on offer. The barista who helped me had not tried one of the pourover options, and we both realized how similar the coffees were as he read the flavor profile off the bags of coffee, "Chocolate, Molasses..." All in all, I'll not go out of my way to come back for coffee. But, I haven't tried their beers yet, so there is still hope for Rochester B&R to win me over with their brews. I'll update this review as soon as I give it a go.

It has a very different vibe and menu than the other places in town which is a nice switch up but it is outside of the main area of town a bit (still only like a 3-5 minute drive from downtown so not bad at all). They have amazing sandwichs, soups, and charcuterie boards. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The outdoor seating area is quite vast with plenty of room to spread out and get some fresh air when it's nice out! All the employees were super nice and willing to give honest suggestions on what to get. I would love to do a wine tasting and try other menu items next time I visit! Came in for my normal start of spring trip after…read morejust being here in late fall, and the whole inside is different (less retail, more space) and several new kitchen remodel upgrades. It looks clean but isn't the same home-y spot we all loved. The kicker, though, is they changed the menu boards which now don't tell you what things are and they've like everyone else increased prices of normal items, including items that used to be included. Sandwiches used to come with chips, and now sandwiches are more and the small single size of chips are $4! Apparently they didn't read PepsiCo just missed a billion dollars in sales because they keep raising prices on Doritos. I can see add-ons for high quality products like soup, specialty fries, etc. I also know GDFC has expanded into KC, and I've been and spent healthy money at that luxury spot several times. But c'mon, this is just ludicrous charges at this point. When I realized the chip change, I asked for a refund of those alone, and the new sales terminal system took forever for multiple people to figure out. The manager on duty had to ultimately refund the whole thing, and reorder my entire order, meaning it's now cost all of us money in time. The staff is completely different - there's a chef in the back wearing a white coat like it's fine dining... the rest of the staff is friendly enough, but also not the same level of home we all got used to for many years. My sandwich finally came out, and it looks nothing like what we used to get - the Cuban is on a hoagie style roll. Not even that good anymore. No more winery inside, and limited drink options overall. And no more fresh ice cream, just overpriced "soft serve." I know we're in times that are a'changin... but some of it has gone too far. Hopefully they keep the same level of loyal business I imagine they had before. My loyalty has definitely shifted instantly to once in a while, if that.
