I had no idea they offered waffles, and let me just say... they're delicious. The pandan waffle especially stood out: not too sweet, lightly aromatic, and the texture was on point -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Such a comforting treat. They also started offering green Thai tea, which I actually prefer over the classic Thai tea. it's smoother and has a lighter, more refreshing flavor. And now they ask if you'd like boba added, which I truly appreciate because not everyone automatically wants it. It's a small detail, but it makes the experience feel more personalized. Lots of options on their menu! They were even willing to customize my order for me. The drinks tasted good. I had their Mango yogurt drink and my husband had their strawberry yogurt. (We ordered two more drinks but I can't remember what they were called.) They gave us tip to mix the yogurt drink first. I'm glad they did because if you don't, you'd get a full taste of yogurt flavor lol! My husband thought it was kind of sweet but got better when we mixed it well. They were playing Jonas Brothers songs when I got there! Also note that there are no public restrooms available. I was in the area after a pedicure and had a milk tea craving. The tea here is good, but boba is mediocre.. I got the black purist and 2 Thailandia milk teas for myself and roomies. The tea flavor is great! Thai tea is just sweet enough but not too sweet and my roommate liked the flavor of the classic black tea as well. We were however less impressed with the boba quality - the boba is not very chewy, so it's more on the soft side. And the boba had no flavor - we could not tell it was soaked in honey or even cooked in sugar.. it literally just tasted like boiled tapioca. I wonder if the flip series would have tasted a bit better as those seemed to be sweeter. Next time I'm in the area, I will try one of these.. Also the sizing is MUCH larger than I expected. We always get larges at every boba shop (typically 24oz vs regular 16oz) but at Bee and Tea it's like 32 oz..! read more

We found this place when we were searching for a spot that makes honey boba. There has been 1-2 drinks on the menu was I wasn't crazy about but overall their items are delicious and we love their honey boba. My daughter and I always get the Smores drink and the classic Flip. Both super good. And the owner is always so friendly you can tell he and puts a lot of time into making sure drinks are made well, and customers are taken care of. Such a cute name! Bee and Tea! We got here before they opened at 11 and waited. When they opened, we ordered Bee Mocha under milk tea and chocolate flip under milk tea flip series. It took 20 minutes for the drinks and baos. What makes this place stand out is their signature boba which is soaked in raw honey. Also, their milk teas are creamer free as it's made with cane sugar which is perfect for lactose intolerant. The bee mocha is made with black tea, chocolate and coffee. Chocolate flip is made with black tea, chocolate sauce on the side, house syrup and froth organic milk. Also comes with honey boba. Honestly, both drinks tasted very similar but good. It was less ice and less sweet. The chocolate flip just tasted it had more tea flavor and chocolate from the sauce. We also ordered their signature baos 6 for $11.99. They ran out of curry so they substituted with 2 combo which is not on the menu, 2 char sui, 1 miso steak, 1 veggie and shiitake. The combo was the best with pork meatball and an egg. It was juicy and the bun was moist. If you're vegetarian then the veggie and shiitake would be wonderful. I find that the char sui and miso steak bun was dry and doughy that it was hard to swallow. Flavaaaaaa flaaaave! These drinks taste SO GOOD. I ordered the honeydew smoothie without boba and my mom ordered the coconut taro smoothie with honey boba. Flavors are spot on, not overly sweet or overpowering! We both got size SMALL which is actually a large size at other boba/drink spots. Both drinks were around $4! When my mom asked how big a small and large cup was the lady showed us both and the large is humongous! It's like the size of a bucket! Not exaggerating! Everything on the menu sounds like something I NEED to try, so best believe I will be back here! I noticed other add-ons included extra boba, jelly, and popping boba! I dont think other places offer popping boba, so I'm really excited about that. Summary of place during Covid-19: the inside of the shop is blocked off with table and chairs to prevent customers from sitting. The inside is also very clean. Bee and Tea has some unique teas that we haven't heard of- and we've been to ALOT of boba spots. We were recommended the Thailandia and WhiteOut and both were delicious. A bit too sweet but we should've should've told them to make it less sweet. It was a little annoying that they charge for less ice. I always ask for less ice, even if it means my drink cup has more empty room so that part sucked. Prices ran steeeepp here compared to other boba/coffee shops. We ended up paying about $15 for 2 drinks and that was without any toppings. Overall, great place to try drinks, sizes are great also but can't make it a habit to stick to this boba spot only because they're expensive. read more

Honestly I was very surprised with how great the drinks were for only randomly finding this place on Yelp! My boyfriend and I were both impressed with their sizes and prices and how worth everything in our drinks were (flavor, taste of boba, consistency.) I especially love that their focus is on honey flavor, as I am a big fan of honey. Clever names and wide selection but not too many drinks as a lot of other shops have too many to choose from. We will definitely come back and might make this one of our usual spots whenever we are down in south San Diego.
