I appreciate that they offer later hours on weeknights, and they ALWAYS fit us in, even if it's close to closing time. That's usually when our dog seems to have issues, too, when our usual vet is already closed. No matter who we have seen--or at what time--we have received exceptional care at NMAH. So far, we've seen Dr. David James, Dr. Paul Kritzinger, Dr. Schaff (now retired), Dr. Kimberly Renehan, Dr. Rachel Spickler, Dr. Katie Blackard, and Dr. Anna Shaffer. The doctors are extremely thorough, and we always leave feeling like JoJo has been well cared for. They are also great about emailing us visit summaries and aftercare instructions, and they share details of our visits with our usual vet to ensure communication of her treatment plans. Even NMAH's technicians and front desk staff are wonderful. Everyone is just so warm and compassionate, and they understand the urgency of our situations. We highly recommend NMAH!

I have been to 3 so far; the first two were nice, but didnt particularly stand out. Fortunately, Dr Holland did at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. I have brought in 2 of my cats so far, and each time Dr Holland has been great with them, and has researched info on medications and options with specialists both for my cats with FIP and with eye issues; both visits, he was understanding about pricing concerns and gave options that I felt were fair and helpful, including thorough emails with additional info and follow up. The office is impeccably clean and the staff very kind. I have passed his info on to the rest of the family, and finally feel that we've found our new vet.

I cannot say enough good things about Catering to Cats and Dogs and the people behind it…read more They are a volunteer-run rescue that works incredibly hard, often quietly and without recognition, in a world that can be unbelievably cruel to animals. My foster pit was with them about 12 years ago, and even then I saw the depth of their commitment, compassion, and integrity. Years later, nothing has changed except that the need has grown and they continue to show up anyway. They do far more than just place animals. They advocate, problem-solve, network, fundraise, transport, foster, and emotionally carry cases that most people would walk away from. They step in when animals are overlooked, misunderstood, or discarded, and they do it with care, patience, and respect for both the animals and the humans involved. Rescue work is exhausting, thankless, and often met with criticism rather than support. Catering to Cats and Dogs continues to do it because they genuinely care, even when it is hard, even when it hurts, and even when the outcomes are uncertain. They are exactly the kind of rescue this world needs more of. I will always be grateful for the role they played in my foster's life, and I deeply respect the volunteers who continue to give so much of themselves to help animals who have already been failed by humans.

I am so grateful for my new family member and the process for adoption was made simple and easy. I…read morelove my new kitty and hope that more people will adopt Handicapped Animals as I have done. This was a great service and I found my kitty at Mac Tabby Cafe in Noda NC Thank You

Some people that frequent the spot, let their dogs become aggressive and don't curb or police them. Others , are blindly yapping away when their animal is pissing and crapping in the play area and fail to clean it up like you are supposed to like us responsible owners do. Most people are friendly but, it is mainly for more than one person. They have TV's but, there is so much activity where they are located that it is hard to focus. If you are alone it can be boring except for the fact your dog is enjoying it (which I guess is the point!) The bar used to be hit or miss but has improved. While a I know this isn't a place you should be going to get tipsy even , I mean I get it , it's a dog park but when I have ordered a shot or two of whiskey with my beer , I was really ripped off more than a couple times by two specific people. The bar manager is great and I think she corrected the light pours, which is great because the alcohol there isn't cheap. I'm not ragging on the bartenders though - all of them are nice and polite. I have only limited experience with the Doggy Daycare and while I don't know what actually goes on back 'there' my dog seemed to be happy when picked up. I will say one of the young ladies who normally checks me in young, with mid-length blonde hair was not very friendly. It was like 8AM and it's Doggy Day Care and isn't cheap , probably be a bit friendlier to the customers. Other than that , it's a decent place to enjoy an afternoon with a beer, or not, while your pup plays and socializes with other dogs. Just wish some owners would be more attentive of their dogs behavior - most are! Recommend checking this place out.

This is WAS my go to spot to take my dog and now I'm done. I feel like they have just gotten worse and worse over the years. You will request report cards and you get nothing! No communication with your dog being there with them while you are traveling. If you are looking for a place to board your dog go somewhere else!

100% 5+ star review for Banfield-Cornelius!!…read more We'd been customers/patients of Banfield for 20 years, with multiple pets; most recent location for 10 years exclusively. We'd followed a beloved vet from one location to a new stand-alone. However, she left that location unbeknownst to us. We stayed on board there, but realized over time the care just wasn't the same. We were ready to sever our connection with Banfield once current wellness plans ended. Fast forward to last week and today. One of our pups had her routine dental last week, and then a week to date swelled up like a puffer fish. I called our usual location thinking that since they'd done her dental, they'd want to see her for reaction. Only, they offered for us to drop her off or to call another location. We were absolutely not interested in dropping her off given the acute situation. Perturbed and concerned, I called another location equal distance from our home. That's when we became acquainted with Dr. Vasquez and the wonderful techs at Banfield-Cornelius (Jennifer this morning!). They saw her Wednesday and assumed/treated for what presented as a possible bee sting. But, the site continued to grow to an alarming point, prompting me to call first thing this morning. Jennifer heard the fear and concern in my voice and said "bring her in now". Dr Vasquez and the team were absolutely amazing with us and our girl. A massive abscess did in fact form on her neck. Aggressive treatment plan, but we left with hope. Even though our appreciation was expressed directly, I cannot share enough with the world how wonderful and caring this staff is, especially when having first hand comparison with another location. We are now forever Banfield-Cornelius customer/patients. Their level of care and concern is unmatched. Thank you just isn't enough .

I just had the worse experience at my location on 19819 North Cove Rd…read moreCornelius, NC 28031 United States..... I took my dog in Thursday Jan 8th with a leg issue and was given Rimadyl 75mg I told the nurse whose name was Katie tht I had Rimadyl at home from his November visit and she looked it up and told me tht what I have at home was 25mg and that he needs to take a whole pill and a half.... He started panting and shaking-shivering Saturday and I called and was told to just monitor him last night I had to rush him to a urgent vet because he was shaking-shivering and panting really bad and making a crying noise..... the Dr at the Urgent Vet let me know tht the dosage given was too high and she examined him and he had neck pain which she believes could have been done the same day his leg issue happened so they gave him a sedative and muscle relaxers.... So today I called my Banfield location to speak with a Dr and was told she was busy at the moment but would call me today/tomorrow, I asked the nurse why would I be given such a high dosage for my dog she said she doesn't know but tht he should have been given 1/3 of the 75mg.... I said 1/3 would be 25mg and thts what I told the nurse I had at home she said she will have the Dr call me with answers I asked her to ask the Dr what are some side effects due to him given high dosage she said she was unsure but the Dr will be able to answer.... This is totally unacceptable because if a full body exam was done Thursday when I bought him in the neck issue would have been addressed I will never use you guys ever again and I have been with you all for 8 whole years!!!!! I only gave a stat because zero stars was not an option
