Tried it for the first time; I wouldn't come back. They have no paper menus, which would have been fine if their wifi was easy to connect to for the online menu (wifi was hard to use, and it required providing an email just to connect). The servers had to lend their phones just for us to order. We got the mushroom pasta and scallops for entrees. While they were not bad per se, they weren't highly recommended either. $37 for a 3-piece scallop dish, and the flavors didn't combine well. The scallops were not seared well, and while served with honeydew and arugula, resulted in a clash of sweet, bitter and salty flavors. We had to get Burger King after dinner.

I was a little weary to stay here because of the mediocre reviews, but this past Friday night my husband and I stayed here for a night and visited The Barn for dinner. My experience was that the Inn was lovely. Zach was very helpful and check in was smooth. The room was extremely clean and decorated beautifully. Breakfast was a little small but we don't eat large breakfast meals anyway. All in all a very nice time. The restaurant (The Barn) was great, but the service was a little slow - but what service isn't these days post-2020. A very nice short getaway and I'd come back.

I stayed here because I wanted to be away from the masses and crowds, and the Waterstone Inn fit the bill perfectly. The inn is literally across from the lake, so makes for a perfect summer or weekend getaway. The inn provides kayaks and canoes free of charge to go out on the lake. I communicated with Maureen before my stay and she was very quick to answer any questions. She was an absolute delight to converse with throughout my stay. She mentioned they weren't sure if they'd reopen after 2020, but they invested more money into the property and made some renovations to make the place more comfortable for guests, despite being an older property. All rooms/suites have a private bathroom and locks for privacy. I stayed in the spacious Bradford Suite on the 3rd floor, but all the rooms they offered seemed equally delightful to stay in when I took a peek. The place is so small and cozy that I didn't encounter any other guests except during breakfast hours (I think only one other room was occupied mid-week). Breakfast is included and is delicious...the food is freshly made to order. There are plenty of places to sit for breakfast whether it be a couch in the lounge, the window-side tables with lake views, or the front porch. The nautical and lake themes throughout the property were very well thought out and tasteful to give you a "getting away" type of feel. The porch area is welcoming and the perfect place where you can enjoy spectacular views of the action on the lake. The property has a parking lot on property directly adjacent to the inn which always felt safe and secure. The town of Greenwood Lake on the NJ/NY border is very cute, and was the filming location of a lesser known recent movie starring Morgan Freeman called the Magic of Belle Isle. All staff I encountered were amazingly welcoming, so I wouldn't hesitate to run as small businesses like these deserve to be supported.

When my boyfriend and I arrived, there was only one group being helped by the front desk staff. I went to the restroom and came back and they were still not done. And then we waited for a while longer. How hard is it to check one person in? Well, I found out firsthand. The system somehow didn't capture my Marriott Bonvoy account. Front desk staff struggled to tab through their archaic-looking system to enter basic information. Later on when my friend arrived, they dealt with similar delays and were stuck in the lobby for quite some time. Staff did NOT accommodate the request for our wedding party to all be on the same floor. Also the staff member she spoke with did not know if they could get her a high chair to do make up, and needed to ASK THEIR MANAGER, who wasn't on site. Jeez. How hard is it to get a chair? On a more positive note, the room itself was clean. The bed could have been more comfortable. I had difficulty sleeping. If you look at the picture, the tv was oddly placed next to the tv and not in front of the tv. Strange. They had a blow dryer, a fridge, and dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In my friend's suite, they also had a microwave. Based on this experience, Marriott is ranking below Hilton and Hyatt for me. I know Courtyard is their no frills brand, but I've had better experiences at their competitor's no frills brands.
