Buenísimo! I came to Bedda with a colleague for a late breakfast or early lunch, or I guess you can say brunch! Yes, brunch. Brunch in the form of Porchetta Panino with Gouda and Loaded Smashed Potatoes, not to mention a cortado and pistachio Latte. I have to say, they make a great cortado here. Not only was it smooth and rich in flavor, it offered a nice nuttiness and subtle dark chocolate flavor and was well balanced between steam milk and espresso. My friend stated that her pistachio latte was fantastic. The porchetta sandwich was delicious! It came with tasty roasted shaved pork that was well seasoned, tender and sweet caramelized onions, and gouda cheese all on a terrific toasted Italian bun. The Italian bun was great. If you like pork, I do reccomend. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the loaded smashed potatoes. The crispy smashed potatoes were topped with a host of ingredients, including tender and juicy slow braised short rib, soft scrambled eggs, cheese, avocado, and a shaved aged Parmesan cheese. It was certainly a looker. The service was friendly with good conversation. They did a nice job opening up the place with the high ceiling and open dining area. There's only inside seating available. They also provide a bakery, espresso bar, and a small Italian - Sicilian market. Bedda is a great place for brunch and to enjoy your favorite espresso base beverage.

This South Park corner suite has been converted from a bakery to an all-day Sicilian eatery with the same ownership as another Italian restaurant just up the street. Bedda was in a soft opening phase when I visited about a month ago. The decor didn't seem to have changed much, however the menu has been expanded to cover breakfast and lunch hours. Brunch is always popular in the SD area so having one page dedicated to such offerings was a prudent decision. The other menu page listed salads, bowls, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. Coffee and wine were featured at the bar as beverages. From the eight choices in the Lunch section, I selected the Salmon Herbs Butter Sauce. This was an entree of poached salmon topped with lemon slices and served with roasted wedged potatoes and an arugula salad. The description stated that asparagus vellutata was supposed to be one of the sides, however the arugula salad became the vegetable substitution. The herb butter sauce was rich, yet the kitchen applied a limited amount in the base of the dish. It did take longer than I expected for my entree to be prepared. I had to flag the attention of a server to ensure the order was not forgotten. I will chalk that up to the growing pains of the operation as the full grand opening had not been announced for the business, but I think it has now occurred. I rounded my rating of Bedda to a four star level as there's certainly room for improvement while the prices were on par with the competition.

Bedda is so delicious. It's a small Spanish place with authentic dishes and cozy vibes. They have a little coffee bar with desserts and pastries and the servers are all very knowledgeable about the menu. I really enjoyed it here and I don't think San Diego has a place quite like this.

The service was great here and the restaurant was very spacious and relaxing. The food was quite unique, with its delicious sausage breakfast platter and the hash I got was also very plentiful and loaded with accoutrements. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

*Soft, Soft, Soft, opening Today's 4 is tomorrow's 5. I have no doubt this place will be a 5 star gem sooner rather than later. From the owner's of the adjacent, family-owned and operated Carbon Angela's Kitchen, comes Bedda, the family operated bakery and breakfast establishment. I visited upon their first, full day of operation during their soft opening, so there are understandably a few kinks still to be worked out. The owner, Angela, did not mince words when she said there is work to be done before having things as perfect as she expects them to be. Her excitement and enthusiasm for what's to come, left me feeling excited about my next visit. The menu is a mix of sweet and savory brunch and more, including various coffes, tea, and some baked goods. Currently most of the baked goods and sandwiches are prepared by 3rd party businesses while Bedda continues to get up and running. GET THE LOMO before you get FOMO. The current "Lomo the res rice and eggs" plate is already a star, and a sure bet to be the fan favorite. It comes with beautifully tender beef tenderoin, eggs, veggies, mexican rice, black beans, and a roasted poblano cilantro gremolata. This is a not to be missed dish. Consider this a warning that you have a serious case of fomo if someone else at your table orders it and you didn't. At $18 this was a full meal that I'll be back on Wednesday to enjoy. Speaking of Wednesday, for the week of 3/2/26, they plan to be open Wed-Sun from about 8am-2pm, but moving forward they will be open from Tue-Sun-presumably under the same hours. I ordered the "Short ribs benedict", $15, by way of an in-house recommendation, but unfortunately the dish did not come out as described. Expecting toast as the base of the benedict, it instead had what appeared like some sort of crispy potatoes for the base. While it left me thinking that I mistakenly got the "Loaded smashed potato" with short rib instead, the passing hostess was able to confirm I indeed received the correct dish. The plate was presented beautifully so I knew I would devour whatever it was in front of me. The plentiful portion of short rib is braised in a spiced red wine along with other seasonings including cinnamon. It is served atop crispy fried "mashed" potato patties that are also sitting on top of a bed of arugula. In additional there are the customary poached eggs on top of the short rib, and all of it dressed up with a bright, lemony hollandaise sauce, served with a side of toast and honey butter. While not what I consider a traditional benedict, it was pretty good. I'm not really a fan of that much cinnamon in a savory dish, so the seemingly sweet short rib wasn't my favorite. Also unfortunate, both of my poached eggs were overdone, with the first one being effectively hard boiled. All in all, we really enjoyed the airy, corner location, delicious food, and friendly service. Both Marco and Angela were very genuine, and I would be happy to come back and support their family business anytime. While I did feel the FOMO from not ordering the LOMO, I will be sure not to make that same mistake twice. See you guys this week!

Food amazing, vibe yes so good and the music by the guitar player was heaven Highly recommend so glad for the good reviews which motivated us to try it out! Thank you!

I recently stopped by to visit Angela's (owner of Carbon Angela's Kitchen) new creation, Bedda, located kitty-corner from Carbon on the southeast corner of Fern & Juniper in South Park. I ordered a large hot Americano to sip in their dining area while reading my Kindle app on my smartphone. It was a soft opening (Wed 3/4-Sun 3/8 from 8am to 3pm). They have a two-page printed menu which will obviously have their food and beverage items on a "real" menu for sure by their grand opening which I'm not sure will be on Mon 3/9 or afterwards. The dining room was nice and open, there was nice music playing which wasn't too loud, I hope they're dog friendly and open to having our four-legged family members join us inside the restaurant bakery. There's also a side room very similar in to a small Italian market with EVOO, pasta, truffle, cookies, etc. Service was friendly and hospitable. I didn't get to see Angela, but I probably will on future visits...

The restaurant itself is adorable, spacious open air and just cute. The service is fine, there was lipstick on my husbands coffee cup, one waitress that was a little loud. It was the food that I was a little bummed about. I ordered the limoncello pancakes, and it came with lemon flavored butter? And the amount of butter on the plate was gross, and barely tasted like lemon. I poured the syrup supplied on without realizing the syrup was off also. I ate what I could but we likely won't be back.

Steak & Eggs with French Fries

Really enjoyed my lunch at Bedda today during their soft opening. The steak and eggs with French fries was great and very flavorful. The steak was cooked to perfection and topped with a bright chimichurri sauce that added a lot of flavor. The eggs were perfect and the fries were crisp and delicious. I also had an espresso, which was excellent. The space has a great atmosphere and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Looking forward to coming back once they are fully open and trying more of the menu.

The road to Money Trees was somewhat chaotic for me, but I am glad I got to try this unique drink. Ultimately, I would rate this a 3.5ish for me, but I do tend to round up for small businesses. My tip for anyone reading this review is that the hours are not exact on any site I checked. Since Morning Dew is run by one person, I definitely understand that it's more difficult to start precisely on time. I would advise either clearer communication of daily hours on their IG, or to simply come by later to give them some cushion for set-up. I ended up waiting an hour from the listed opening time for the owner to finish setting up. Thankfully, there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, and I took a nice stroll, popping in and out of shops in the area. Morning Dew is located in Jaguar Paw, which is a bar at night. The space is super cute and the menu has many unique drinks that tempted me, but I ended up going with Money Trees, which has pandan and banana. I have never had a banana-flavored drink before but I saw a lot of hype around these types of drinks, so I wanted to give them a try myself. It was pretty pricy but as a sweet-treat advocate, I wanted to try something new. Upon first sip, I was hit with strong pandan and banana flavors. There was a slightly astringent aftertaste from the banana, so I do feel like the flavor is from real fruit and not artificial syrup. Unfortunately, it was not my favorite drink as I think I prefer more matcha-forward options. It was also a bit thinner than I prefer, so it felt like a banana juice. While I am intrigued by some of the other drinks on offer, I do not think Morning Dew will become part of my regular rotation. Between the prices, location, and hours, this is definitely a special occasion, friends-in-town type of spot for me.

The menu featured various matcha tea drinks which seems to be all the rage right now. The same seating arrangement of the bar countertop and tables across from it was available if you wanted to hang out and chill. A sign behind the bar described the ceremonial grade matcha that was used with the region of origin and the flavors imparted to the powder. Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5…read moreService: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I love the Dark Horse brand across the board, but the Golden Hill location has consistently been my favorite. The baristas are kind and efficient, and they remember my dogs which of course wins me over instantly. The location itself is super convenient: easily walkable, a fair amount of street parking, and easy access right off the highway. I also really appreciate that they have lots of outdoor seating and offer pup cups, so I feel comfortable stopping by with my dogs. I also love that they have a rewards program via Cash App/phone number/the credit card you use. It's especially convenient that this is all tracked digitally and automatically when you swipe your credit card. For drinks, I've ordered: The Champ (iced): 4/5 A very popular choice. I do enjoy this coffee and the honey flavor is lovely, but the cinnamon can be a bit strong for me. They use powdered cinnamon over the top, which from a texture standpoint isn't my favorite. I do find the cinnamon is less overpowering when this drink is ordered hot instead of iced. Salted Maple Latte (iced): 5/5 This is my go-to. Delicious, strong coffee without being bitter and very well balanced overall. The maple flavor doesn't jump out in an obvious way, but adds a subtle sweetness that isn't overly sweet or sharp. Interestingly, I think the 16oz is better balanced than the 12oz in terms of coffee/milk/maple ratios. Pumpkin Spiced Latte (hot): 3/5 I'm not the biggest pumpkin spice latte fan, so I wasn't expecting to love this. It does have a clear pumpkin spice flavor, but the texture coats the mouth a bit more than I prefer (likely from the pumpkin), which is part of why this isn't my favorite. For food, I've ordered: Vegan Donuts: 5/5 I thought these used to be made by a sister company of Dark Horse, but I believe they're now sourced from Nomad Donuts. They usually have 1-2 rotating flavors each day, and since the main difference is the glaze on top, you really can't go wrong with any flavor you get. The texture is closer to a cake donut. Super tasty and not too sweet. Almond Cake: 5/5 Delicious and decadent. Very light, sweet, and crumbly. This isn't something I'd get regularly since it's just a bit too sweet for me without feeling like dessert, but it's undeniably tasty. To summarize, this is a consistently solid location with great service, excellent drinks, and small bites that pair perfectly with your favorite cup of joe. This is my go-to neighborhood coffee stop.

Sadly the ice cream shop was closed when I came back around 2pm. I found that to be odd, or perhaps it was open~ it was dark and doors were closed. But anyways, thankfully, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters was still open till I believe 3:30pm! (I went on a Sunday). They have indoor seating and a big space outdoor for seating. We found parking on the street, no paying needed. They also have a bathroom, which is nice, but most people don't ask for the key (since it's essentially open, only locked when in use). The door is frosted and you can see the outline of someone as they stand near it. I think it could be a little more frosty! There were a lot of workers the day I went and they were nice. The prices were good for specialty lattes and the guy informed us that both sizes use the same amount of shots (2), the only difference is quantity of milk! I got a classic, $6, 12 oz Iced Salted Maple (S'Maple) Latte. It was good, but I wouldn't mind if the salted maple was more flavorful. It's quite subtle! The outdoor space is really great for meet ups with large groups of family/friends/work. I think this location is really lovely and would recommend people to come check it out!
