    Mediterranean Grill and Eggs Benedict
    Pam S.

From what I understand this place just recently opened... and it feels that way. I was there for the San Diego Bookstore Crawl this past Sunday. Service is slow, food delivery was also slow. We had a limited time, due to being on the shuttle, and we shared this with our Server. I ordered the 'Classic Eggs Benedict' it is NOT Classic and the menu doesn't describe the Eggs Benedict either BTW I asked to substitute the ham for bacon... this did not happen. Although I was charged for the side of bacon - they brought it out and it looked like ham, the same ham that was on my Benedict. Topped with beautiful parmesan flaks on a bed of Mashed Potato patty, the Hollandaise sauce was thick and taste more like gravy than a sauce. Also I think my instructions were lost in translation. My fellow shuttle companions ordered the Mediterranean Grill and they demolished it... this is a good sign, because they said it was delicious! I asked for a chocolate muffin to-go, which they forgot to charge me for... I guess it all works out in the end. Street parking are your options here and there was a wait when we arrived. They had live music when we first got there but they packed up and left before our entree was served. I think they are still working the kinks out. Next time I will chose another place to have lunch. Respectfully Reviewed.

This South Park corner suite has been converted from a bakery to an all-day Sicilian eatery with the same ownership as another Italian restaurant just up the street. Bedda was in a soft opening phase when I visited about a month ago. The decor didn't seem to have changed much, however the menu has been expanded to cover breakfast and lunch hours. Brunch is always popular in the SD area so having one page dedicated to such offerings was a prudent decision. The other menu page listed salads, bowls, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. Coffee and wine were featured at the bar as beverages. From the eight choices in the Lunch section, I selected the Salmon Herbs Butter Sauce. This was an entree of poached salmon topped with lemon slices and served with roasted wedged potatoes and an arugula salad. The description stated that asparagus vellutata was supposed to be one of the sides, however the arugula salad became the vegetable substitution. The herb butter sauce was rich, yet the kitchen applied a limited amount in the base of the dish. It did take longer than I expected for my entree to be prepared. I had to flag the attention of a server to ensure the order was not forgotten. I will chalk that up to the growing pains of the operation as the full grand opening had not been announced for the business, but I think it has now occurred. I rounded my rating of Bedda to a four star level as there's certainly room for improvement while the prices were on par with the competition.

    Cortado

Buenísimo! I came to Bedda with a colleague for a late breakfast or early lunch, or I guess you can say brunch! Yes, brunch. Brunch in the form of Porchetta Panino with Gouda and Loaded Smashed Potatoes, not to mention a cortado and pistachio Latte. I have to say, they make a great cortado here. Not only was it smooth and rich in flavor, it offered a nice nuttiness and subtle dark chocolate flavor and was well balanced between steam milk and espresso. My friend stated that her pistachio latte was fantastic. The porchetta sandwich was delicious! It came with tasty roasted shaved pork that was well seasoned, tender and sweet caramelized onions, and gouda cheese all on a terrific toasted Italian bun. The Italian bun was great. If you like pork, I do reccomend. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the loaded smashed potatoes. The crispy smashed potatoes were topped with a host of ingredients, including tender and juicy slow braised short rib, soft scrambled eggs, cheese, avocado, and a shaved aged Parmesan cheese. It was certainly a looker. The service was friendly with good conversation. They did a nice job opening up the place with the high ceiling and open dining area. There's only inside seating available. They also provide a bakery, espresso bar, and a small Italian - Sicilian market. Bedda is a great place for brunch and to enjoy your favorite espresso base beverage.

Love the atmosphere and vibe of the place. Had breakfast at Bedda and the breakfast croissant was delicious and the salted Carmel latte perfect. Amazing service. Would eat here again.

Bedda is so delicious. It's a small Spanish place with authentic dishes and cozy vibes. They have a little coffee bar with desserts and pastries and the servers are all very knowledgeable about the menu. I really enjoyed it here and I don't think San Diego has a place quite like this.

Spanish tortilla - prosciutto and ricotta

Decided to check out Bedda for some Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint. The vanilla latte was delicious without being too sweet and all the food tasted so fresh. We ordered the Spanish tortilla w/ prosciutto and ricotta and the loaded smash potatoes. Both were 10/10. Another bonus, there was a live guitarist and an Italian market that had all the Italian goods (coming from an Italian!) so we picked up a few market items to bring home.

The service was great here and the restaurant was very spacious and relaxing. The food was quite unique, with its delicious sausage breakfast platter and the hash I got was also very plentiful and loaded with accoutrements. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

*Soft, Soft, Soft, opening Today's 4 is tomorrow's 5. I have no doubt this place will be a 5 star gem sooner rather than later. From the owner's of the adjacent, family-owned and operated Carbon Angela's Kitchen, comes Bedda, the family operated bakery and breakfast establishment. I visited upon their first, full day of operation during their soft opening, so there are understandably a few kinks still to be worked out. The owner, Angela, did not mince words when she said there is work to be done before having things as perfect as she expects them to be. Her excitement and enthusiasm for what's to come, left me feeling excited about my next visit. The menu is a mix of sweet and savory brunch and more, including various coffes, tea, and some baked goods. Currently most of the baked goods and sandwiches are prepared by 3rd party businesses while Bedda continues to get up and running. GET THE LOMO before you get FOMO. The current "Lomo the res rice and eggs" plate is already a star, and a sure bet to be the fan favorite. It comes with beautifully tender beef tenderoin, eggs, veggies, mexican rice, black beans, and a roasted poblano cilantro gremolata. This is a not to be missed dish. Consider this a warning that you have a serious case of fomo if someone else at your table orders it and you didn't. At $18 this was a full meal that I'll be back on Wednesday to enjoy. Speaking of Wednesday, for the week of 3/2/26, they plan to be open Wed-Sun from about 8am-2pm, but moving forward they will be open from Tue-Sun-presumably under the same hours. I ordered the "Short ribs benedict", $15, by way of an in-house recommendation, but unfortunately the dish did not come out as described. Expecting toast as the base of the benedict, it instead had what appeared like some sort of crispy potatoes for the base. While it left me thinking that I mistakenly got the "Loaded smashed potato" with short rib instead, the passing hostess was able to confirm I indeed received the correct dish. The plate was presented beautifully so I knew I would devour whatever it was in front of me. The plentiful portion of short rib is braised in a spiced red wine along with other seasonings including cinnamon. It is served atop crispy fried "mashed" potato patties that are also sitting on top of a bed of arugula. In additional there are the customary poached eggs on top of the short rib, and all of it dressed up with a bright, lemony hollandaise sauce, served with a side of toast and honey butter. While not what I consider a traditional benedict, it was pretty good. I'm not really a fan of that much cinnamon in a savory dish, so the seemingly sweet short rib wasn't my favorite. Also unfortunate, both of my poached eggs were overdone, with the first one being effectively hard boiled. All in all, we really enjoyed the airy, corner location, delicious food, and friendly service. Both Marco and Angela were very genuine, and I would be happy to come back and support their family business anytime. While I did feel the FOMO from not ordering the LOMO, I will be sure not to make that same mistake twice. See you guys this week!

    Live music

I ordered the smashed potato breakfast which was perfectly balanced, and the potatoes were crispy! The service was wonderful, and we were treated to live classic New Orleans jazz on this Sunday morning.

Pesto Benedict, sandwich and the potato smash

The food is always great! They have a lengthy menu but my favorites are the stuffed crepes and the pesto Benedict. The pesto tasted so fresh, a favorite of mine. The place is still fairly new so the service can take a little long but the food is worth it. They have live music every other Sunday I believe (could be wrong).

Food amazing, vibe yes so good and the music by the guitar player was heaven Highly recommend so glad for the good reviews which motivated us to try it out! Thank you!
