Wienerschnitzel (pork) with fries and spätzle
Trevor T.

Walked by Beda's because it is in the same plaza as my favorite Thai place in SLO (Thai Boat) and it looked fun so decided to stop in for lunch. They have outdoor seating and ordered a bunch of beer tasters (my favorite was the kölsch). We downloaded the SLO eats app and were able to get a HUGE discount. We both tried the wienerschnitzel with pork (don't get chicken) and they were so nice about my dairy allergy. I usually can't eat spätzle because it is cooked in butter, but they prepared mine in oil which was a treat. Fries were crunchy and we both cleaned our plates. Danke schön

Tried sometjing new. Nice little spot. Good beer list. Happy hour 2-6pm. I had never had German food. I liked what I tried. A noodle dish and a sandwich. I'd go back. It's casual seems like a place to gather with a few friends for a couple drinks in the afternoon.

Service was great! Super kind on the phone and greeting by one guy. He was super kind. But three bites into the Black Forest cake I got so sick. Not sure if food poisoning or cross contamination from gluten. Either way nightmare, super painful, vomiting. If you're sensitive to food poisoning or gluten free I wouldn't risk it sadly. But the cake was so pretty

Beda's da best! Great atmosphere, beer and food. Delicious, scrumptious deserts and savory sauces. Great staff. We had Ursula, and she was fantastic. Kudos Beda's. We'll be back!

We showed up at 5 o'clock, eight people and two children without a reservation! They were so helpful and patient with us. They found us a table to seat us all, even though they had to shift round a few things Really great selection of beers and the food was delicious too I had the Jager schnitzel it was very good. Excellent and attentive service, we all had a great time. Everyone was so kind and helpful great place

Enjoyed the food, and service was good. Beer in the boots was a lot of fun to share. I would have enjoyed having Germany music instead of 80. Just for more ambiance.

randomly came across this restaurant when me and my partner were traveling to SLO. we came in at around 12 PM and was promptly greeted by a server who was very helpful with menu recommendations and beer recommendations. we ended up getting schnitzel and sausage on pretzel bread; as our first time trying German food we absolutely loved it. would highly recommend anyone looking for a fun pub experience or something different to visit! will be back :)

Sauces come with the steak. Brussel sprouts were prepared with bacon and pickled onions.

The bartender, Jason, was entertaining and the selections delicious and perfectly prepared. We had the Wagu and Duck, Brussels sprouts and truffle fries!

Service and food were amazing. Authentic to being back in Germany/Austria. Beer and cider was a great pairing. Will be returning next time we're in town.

Can you get reservations?

No reservations, frankly not a lot of tables to even eat at. Think more of a quick service take out - quite similar to a donut shop, if you will.

All three different items we ordered were a bit bland and we had to rely on condiments to add some flavor. The draft beers were what you would expect nothing special to note, but nothing negative to say either. The service was good, and I appreciated that the gentleman suggested getting a combo. He could've easily said nothing and let us overpay for items that qualified for combo pricing. The pool tables were fun, but unfortunately one of them (the one nearest the window) was not functioning properly, which was disappointing. Overall, with a little improvement such as better seasoning on the food and repairing the billiards table this place would earn five stars. This was not my first time here, and I've had a better experience in the past, but I will still give it another shot next time I'm in town since it has a chill vibe and I know it's been better in the past. Sometime it's just one of those days so maybe that's all that happened on that particular visit.

Driving is a few minutes and walking is probably a good half hour or so depending on how fast you walk. It's located on the other end of downtown but still on the Main Street. The property itself was massive. We checked it out for a drink which they had a really nice patio. Hi top seating as well as tables. Also some of the seating had fire pits for the nice chilly night. Inside was pretty massive as well with main and up stairs seating. I believe it's also a full restaurant but we only utilized it for drinks before dinner. Menu wish did looked good but we only stick to a cocktail and some beer. Service was great and the staffs were friendly. It's was still a little early so the place wasn't that busy. Just from the cocktails, it was great. The property was nice and pretty massive. Location is quieter but still brought in a good amount of foot traffic. Now that we've been here, we know there's a place we can stop by for a meal and drink whenever we stay down in the area again.

After finding 4 other options, all the others cared about was: which one is closest and which has the highest stars? Ultimately I picked the one that had the most variety. My brother-in-laws kids are very picky. Like, pizza and chicken nuggets are all they really eat. And my in-laws are picky in the other direction. They like nices restaurants and my father-in-law likes to critique other people's cooking, especially BBQ. Anyways, as we are walking up, you can tell very quickly that this is a fairly fancy restaurant. In fact, if it was warmer outside, we would have opted to sit beside the fire. It kind of made me wish we had come here at lunch to take advantage of the beautiful view. If I have the opportunity to come again, I'll definitely try to plan it around lunch. I think my wife was expecting the worse initially because she stood at the front waiting to be helped. Meanwhile, I took my son to the restroom and came back while she continued to wait. Not a minute later, we get greeted and we put in our group. I think she took that personally. We were kind of a large group. 11 in total. Still, the wait was less than 5 minutes. Soon we were ordering drinks and appetizers. The elote corn, guacamole and chips caught my eye. The elote mostly. It was a disappointment though. It was basically cheesy cream of corn. The brussel sprouts on the other hand, were great! My daughter felt they could use a little salt. I would probably add pine nuts, but thats about it. What surprised my wife was the SLO burn mixed drink. Appropriately named because it was spicy, made with habanero infused tequila. It was spicier than the jalapeño inspired drink my father-in-law had during lunch. For our main meal, my wife and I had our eyes on the same thing. I just knew she was going to want the prime rib dip since French dips are one of her faves. As a compromise, we decided to split it and the short rib grilled cheese sandwich. To my surprise, the grilled cheese, which was more hot sandwich than grilled cheese, was better. When dipped in the tomato soup, it was even better. The prime rib dip was good, but the grilled cheese was great. What's funny is that 3 people in the group ordered the Korean beef salad. I snatched a taste from my daughter. I thought it was really good. I'm just a sucker for Korean food in general, and the dressing had a nice citrusy taste to it. Probably the nice twist we didn't expect was the live singer. The women in the group were familiar with most of her songs, and they can appreciate a good singer since singing runs in the family. All in all, this was a great spot that I hope to try again in the future
