Steve suggested we do a FaceTime call, and he demonstrated the way it worked, while we followed the steps from home. Problem resolved immediately! I contacted the Westminster store the following morning to see if I could exchange it for a lighter version speaking to Carlin. She told me there were 13 in stock in Washington for exchange and that would be hearing from the store manager the next day. It is a week and I still haven't heard back. Basically I'm being ghosted. After reading the other reviews online, I see that customer service is not a strong point of the Westminster store. I had to reach out to the main customer service line to hear that they would be unlikely to do this. While I understand that there are variations in color, rather than return it, I asked for an exchange. I haven't even removed the table from its box. The coffee table I got looks like a teak or mahogany wood and would never be used as a display. I have not had this kind of experience with exchanges from any other furniture store that I've shopped: west elm, cb2, room and board, you name it with . I had announced myself twice, and even asked if "anyone was here" loud enough for someone in the back to hear me. I guess the phone conversation she was having was much more important than an actual customer in the store. From what I saw, everything seemed to be locally produced, but was very overpriced. I am always willing to pay more for a store that gives great customer service, but sadly, this type of retail is what had me going back to amazon. I have to share the exceptional customer service I recently experienced at this Lazy boy store. I contacted Connie and she agreed to send someone out promptly to see what the problem was. Mike was promptly at my home 30 minutes after talking to Connie. Mike found the problem and I decided to have the sofa replaced instead of repaired. He relayed that info to Connie, she called me 30 mins later and set up redelivery ASAP. The next week I received my replacement but the 3rd party delivery co. could not take the original sofa. I have a small living room and having 2 sofas in the space was very inconvenient. I visited the store, and first spoke to Jeff. After learning it would be a week to pick of the 1st sofa I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was not helpful and I did not ask for his name. Jeff ask to speak to the manager in private and a few minutes later asked me if I would be at home for a bit. He then explained that he could come to my house with Mike and pick up the old sofa in about an hour! Jeff and Mike arrived at my home about 40 mins later and removed the old sofa! Jeff, Mike, and Connie clearly have exceptional customer service skills and it was a pleasure dealing with them. I could not be happier with the superior service the 3 of them provided. The next thing is we constantly had a neck ache due to either the angle or the fullness of the head rest that causes my head to jut forward.. We finally dumped that sofa and looked at various places for a replacement and wound up back at Lazy Boy again and I'll be damned if we didn't buy the exact same sofa that we had before. Can't return it, can't dump it, can't sit on it..I wrapped a ratchet strap around the upper cushion to squash it down but it didn't help with the neck issue...I've even tried to elevate the front but still, no difference....not sure why these were made. Everyone I had over felt neck strain...but wow...I REALLY purchased the same sofa...I'm kicking myself for that one..in addition the right side cushion causes me to sit very awkward. I'm either turned left or right, maybe too much stuffing...very annoying...it looks damn good though..
