We stopped by to look at a sleeper that we had admired online. Steve Crosson assisted us, demonstrating all of the features. He suggested we look at the floor model in the clearance center (could have pushed to sell the new one!). The clearance room prices were amazing, and although "just looking", we bought it on the spot! Steve wrapped it in plastic, and helped to load it into our truck. The next evening, we had trouble putting it back together, and thought there was a missing piece. Steve suggested we do a FaceTime call, and he demonstrated the way it worked, while we followed the steps from home. Problem resolved immediately! Non-responsive management, horrible customer service. I ordered a coffee table to go with a white oak sideboard. before purchasing, I carefully compared the photos of both furniture items to see how they would look together and the Scandinavians designs Hendrick coffee table represented online was a very good match color for my Article Lenia sideboard. When I unboxed the coffee table, it was extremely red and 3 shades darker than my sideboard, I shade that would never be put out on a sales floor as an example. I contacted the Westminster store the following morning to see if I could exchange it for a lighter version speaking to Carlin. She told me there were 13 in stock in Washington for exchange and that would be hearing from the store manager the next day. It is a week and I still haven't heard back. Basically I'm being ghosted. After reading the other reviews online, I see that customer service is not a strong point of the Westminster store. I had to reach out to the main customer service line to hear that they would be unlikely to do this. While I understand that there are variations in color, rather than return it, I asked for an exchange. I haven't even removed the table from its box. The coffee table I got looks like a teak or mahogany wood and would never be used as a display. I have not had this kind of experience with exchanges from any other furniture store that I've shopped: west elm, cb2, room and board, you name it with . When you are shelling out this much money their policy should be on the check out page with transparency. Do not shop this store, they will drop you once they make the sale!! read more

This year I moved into a new home and was looking for a new side chair and sofa. I first found my beautiful chair and it is so elegant and comfortable..I adore it. The quality is excellent! I then started my search for the perfect comfortable couch...I did but it was not in the color I preferred.. but no worries..I was able to order a custom color at no extra charge. I just waited a few weeks. I am so pleased!!! Everything I have ever bought from Scandinavian design has been wonderful and they will be cherished for years to come. Worth a visit but wasn't my style personally. I hate to use that phrase "better IKEA" but the style comes to mind. Construction wise it's miles beyond though. Even the clearance area was looking pretty sweet, although picked over. One specific issue seems to be fabric wear from sun damage. Also outdoor tables warping! Colorado sun is STRONG but outdoor tables should NOT look like that. Maybe a factory material defect? Staff was nice when we walked in and around the store. Eight mini areas around the store. Office. Bedroom. Lounge. Family room. Etcetera. My favorite area was the "natural wood." Designed to be different and age uniquely. (Kicking myself for not remember the section name now. Enter the store and immediately take a right!) For sectionals and chairs we didn't see anything that jumped out at us. Prices seemed ok though, modern look and a lot sturdier than IKEA. American Furniture Warehouse down the road a bit may suit you better. If you want the European feel or are nostalgic for your parents 1960s / 70s furniture, you'll find something similar here! read more

The management told me their products were guaranteed for life when I bought them and when I tried to get the reclining chair fixed because it had a faulty part it's been over a year and no one even calls me. I've asked the manager to help me get the part needed so I could use my recliner and they just tell me big stories and do nothing if I was to shop I sure would never do it again at the store or this brand it's not worth it and they lie to you constantly. We purchased a new dining room set and are overall pleased with the quality, cost, and service. They offer a nice variety of styles and colors. We ended up choosing a medium sized table with two slide outs, and paired it with four comfy high back chairs. Our purchase was about three months ago, and everything is holding up well. We had one hiccup through the process, that the table wasn't setup upon delivery as expected but our sales rep Nick took care of the issue. We love the styles they offer, and will definitely return! Recently bought dining room chairs and an office desk from Scandinavian Designs in Westminster, Colorado. The staff was helpful and friendly. The furniture is beautiful, sturdy, and reasonably priced. I picked up the furniture and assembled it myself. The chairs were easy but the pieces of the desk were quite heavy and I needed assistance. The directions were a little challenging but we did get it done. I might suggest, depending on the pieces, paying to have them do the assembly and delivery. read more

The store is excellent. The selection and the layout are ideal, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and of course very Covid safe. We have a number of items from Scandinavian designs and couldn't recommend more. The prices are very reasonable and the construction and designs are very good quality. We recently purchased a couch for a condo and it went on sale between the time we ordered it and the time we picked it up and there was no question (from them!) that they were going to give me a refund for the difference. First, I don't understand how this place is three dollar signs. This is some of the most affordable furniture available (outside of IKEA and AFW). We purchased a 108" sectional for $1199 (no sale, that's just the price). This particular couch has a kiln dried hardwood frame, sinuous spring suspension, and high density foam cushions, and it came with a lifetime warranty on the frame. How can something like that be any cheaper than $1200? It can't. People complaining about the price have clearly never done proper research as to what a quality couch costs. We ordered a couch that was in stock and received delivery within a week. Unfortunately, the sectional that was delivered was the incorrect configuration. As the store outsources its delivery, the truck driver just left that couch. That was fine, it still fit, but looked bad. We called the store and they immediately acknowledged their mistake and put the correct couch on the next available delivery (8 days later). We received the couch when SD said they would delivery it and it looks great. Overall, this place has a pretty good product and really fair prices. The staff is also not overly pushy (like the staff at West Elm Cherry Creek), and generally leaves you alone until you need something. read more

I placed an order for a dresser on September 30,2021. I was told it would likely be in around thanksgiving. I began checking on it in mid November. I called weekly to get status updates from Nick in the Westminster store. nick did not ever reach out to me with an update. apparently the cargo container had left Italy on October 30. to date, 1/14/22 (15 weeks or 3 and 1/2 months) store and warehouse personnel aren't able to locate the container. I was fortunate to eventually deal with Paula who sold me the floor model at a 30% discount and was exceptional with follow up. It has scratches on it but otherwise is pretty good. I have had much better experiences with Scandinavian designs in the past. Not certain that I will purchase from them again. read more

This Westminster location might not be as large, but I like the way they have everything set up, compared to the Denver store. We love that we could order to the store and avoid shipping fees. The short & sweet: There is some great furniture here, but it's a bit overpriced. The store's customer service stinks. Also be aware of who makes which piece and when/where it ships from, but that has become true for all except the cash & carry furniture stores. The goal was to find some comfy leather sofas that were made in the USA and wouldn't take six months to show up. (good luck, right?) I spent hours in Room & Board, Crate/Barrel, Ethan Allen, etc etc, (yes, even AFW - no stone unturned) Scandinavian Designs was the first shop were I felt I could actually relax without the constant sales pitches and take the time to explore. Also the first decent store I found where they were just selling furniture, and not some pretentious lifestyle. In terms of selection, SD really came through. The couches were spendy, but were made in California, shipped on time, and are extremely comfortable. I used to sell leather goods, and the leather on these couches is some of the best I've seen. Be wary and make sure you're getting what you want. One salesman was steering me towards an "Italian" sofa, but when I pressed the issue, turns out only the company HQ is in Italy, the sofas are made in China and junk Chinese foam & leather are two things you really want to avoid. This is not unique to SD. But... On arrival, one of the frames was bowed, and it was like pulling teeth to get it repaired. It should have been replaced, but so far the repair is solid. Scandinavian services the warranty on most of what they sell. So you're at the store's mercy if something goes awry. I'm a pretty friendly guy and I had to become a complete terror to get anything resembling service, but that's what it took which is disgraceful for a store like this. After I harassed the store manager for a few weeks, they finally got moving and sent a very nice gentleman out to see if he could fix the frame, which he did quickly on a return visit. The repair guy was great, the repair was no big deal. My main gripe is that it took over a dozen phone calls of increasing hostility just to get a service appointment. Also, for the money paid, there's no excuse for a defect like that to even ship out of the factory. Lastly, some bonehead slapped an adhesive shipping label right on the leather! These last two gripes are not SD's fault, but reflects my overall experience: you don't quite get what you pay for. If I'd paid about 10% less, or had no QC/ service issues, I'd give Scandinavian five stars. Last note: this is a modern furniture store. I see one reviewer dinged SD for being too 'Clockwork Orange' and having furniture that 'looked uncomfortable' - brilliant. If you're not into the more modern stuff you're wasting your time even coming in here. C'mon people. Your (lack of) taste is not SD's fault. That's why there's Woodley's. Happy hunting! read more

We purchased a sofa, chaise and single chair from Scandinavian designs in Oct 2010. We were told by the sales women that the items were covered under the guardsman's extended warranty for animal damages, even the supplied documentation did not include any comments that this was not covered. Now that we come to claim, it's mysteriously not covered and the store manager displayed a new, unseen, document which was not previously supplied. Currently reviewing procedures to take these guys to small claims court. STEER CLEAR. 7/11 update: Small claims court date set for next Monday! Final update. Well, They turned up and i'm happy. Shame it had to go this way as the furniture was pretty good value for money. read more

In this land barren of Ikea, Scandinavian Design, I suppose, is the next best thing when it comes to furniture. While the quality and the prices run the gamut from high to low you can usually find a few furniture pieces to fit your needs. The furniture they carry is *spoiler!* Scandinavian-style with clean, modern lines. Hubby and I were happy to find a bookshelf system that didn't look like it belongs in an office/law office/grandma's house and didn't cost a years salary. We also found a small, modern, leather sectional that you can actually squish down into to watch TV (a rarity in the realm of modern furniture). SD also carries huge original canvas paintings that are absurdly cheap, and the actually aren't bad looking. They don't quite have the uber-cheap prices of Ikea but I think the goods are generally a bit higher quality. The rear left side of the store is where all the sale furniture ends up, so if you're a clearance rack shopper, start here first. read more

if you know how to ask them the right questions about their products, and if you accept the fact that it is an overpriced store, you may just like it. I like the designs here. I really like them. I bought a sectional about 2 years ago from here. It is chic, stylish and looks wonderful. A few months ago I started to notice that the seats just sink in. Agreed that furniture doesn't last a lifetime, but less than 2 years for furniture that cost an arm and a leg and the entire contents of the purse is a bit disappointing. Then I read E.E's review here on yelp and went back to ask them the questions. My sectional was designed in Europe but made in China! I am not against goods manufactured in China or anywhere in the world as long as they do what they are supposed to do. Anyways, when we went to look for new furniture, I knew what to ask them and instantly 80% of the furniture in the store was something I did not want to buy again. No more assembled in China - not until they guarantee every single item to work like it should. The flip side to asking for detailed information was that the furniture made here in the US is way beyond our means. I am looking and will keep looking but the prospects of finding it don't look too good right now. read more

Horrible experience I ordered a full bedroom set and had it delivered. Then on the day of delivery they said it's the wrong order and I'll have I wait another week So on the day of delivery (second attempt) they told me between 10-1 and no one showed up. I called and they said they ordered the wrong set again . They didn't even bother to call me and tell me, I just sat there waiting until I called after the delivery date. Horrible service . I found the prices to be about 10 to 15% over priced. My biggest gripe is that some of the furniture on the floor is for sale but has a 3 MONTH delivery time! 3 Months! So I asked them if they would let me buy the floor model and they said no. I mean why have it on display? Nobody waits three months for a desk! That means they have items on the show floor that have a 3 month lead time. I find that to be unacceptable. They should not be on the floor with that large of a lead time. While we love the designs, communications and delivery are poor. Have had 2 delivery issues with large purchases in less than 12 months. The first time it was a backorder item. The item hit inventory but was not delivered for weeks which prompted a store visit. While I waited to be helped, I walked the returns room only to find that several of the items that we had waited for months to come into stock, had not only already come in, but that so much of it had which had already generated store returns. The sales clerk and manager then attempted to charge us a second delivery fee although delivery had already been paid for months earlier as part of the original order. The items were eventually delivered 2 weeks later without additional fees. Nonetheless, we like the designs so decided give them another chance March 30th 2019. Similar experience. No contact by delivery service based on the delivery timeline communicated by sales clerk. Calls to the store are either disconnected, never route to the sales desk, or are picked up by a recorded message and then disconnected. 22 April Update Another week has gone by, another week without the furniture, another week without communications unless we call/email in, the email we received committed to delivery by today, 22 April; We call in to validate delivery window as we have received no communication and are told that it won't happen today, but perhaps by the end of next week read more
