After 10 Years of Pain, I Finally Found Hope…read more Over 10 years ago, I had a severe reaction to a vaccine that affected my facial nerve, leaving me with significant nerve and muscle pain and paralysis changes to one side of my face. After seeing more than 15 doctors--from neurologists to pain specialists--I never really found answers or lasting relief. Eventually, I just accepted this was something I would have to live with. Then a friend recommended Dr. Lanh. I had tried acupuncture before for short-term pain relief, but her approach has been completely different. She looks at the whole body through traditional Chinese medicine and has truly treated me from the inside out. I've experienced more relief than I thought possible, but what I appreciate most is that she has given me a protocol and a better understanding of how to manage my body and pain going forward. I am beyond grateful I found Dr. Lanh. After 10 years of feeling like I had tried everything, she has given me something I didn't think I would have again--hope.

Meeting Dr Lanh was truly the best health investment I've made in years. A few years ago, I was…read moreconstantly struggling with severe PMS, persistent breakouts, dizziness, and chronic poor sleep. When I first visited, I just wanted standard TCM treatment, but Lanh Acupuncture Clinic proved to be exceptional. What impressed me most was Dr Lanh's remarkably thorough and localized care: at every single visit, she takes ample time to read my pulse, check my tongue, and ask detailed questions to track my body's changes. She established a very structured, step-by-step treatment plan--starting with twice a week for the first three months, then stepping down to once a week as I improved, and later to twice a month for maintenance. She was also incredibly considerate of my budget, never pushing unnecessary treatments or selling and adjusting the schedule as my health stabilized. Dr Lanh's expertise goes far beyond medicine. She not only cured my symptoms but also guided me like a wise mentor to rebuild healthy sleep and eating habits--emphasizing whole, healthy foods over synthetic supplements. It has now been three years and four months since I first started seeing her, and the results are amazing. Not only has my health drastically improved, but I honestly look so much better than I did three years ago! My skin cleared up, my hair looks healthier, and my overall energy has been revitalized. My stress tolerance has shot up, allowing me to stay fully focused and productive at work. Now, depending on my stress level and budget, I pop in once or twice a month, but under her ongoing guidance, my body remains in top condition. I am deeply grateful for her holistic care for both my physical and mental well-being. If you are looking for a place that treats the root cause of health issues with true wisdom, compassion, and the ability to help you glow from the inside out, I wholeheartedly recommend Lanh Acupuncture Clinic in Austin!

Let me start by saying that I've known some excellent doctors, and have had a couple of…read moreearth-shatteringly bad experiences as well. Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. When I think about how quickly Dr. Julie started "cracking the case", and all the co-pays and labs past that never quite addressed my issue, I realize that I have now SAVED time and money in the long run. What's more...I could have gotten REALLY sick were it not for Dr. Julie and her findings. She very well might have saved my future from being...well, not so bright. Thinking about calling for an appointment with Dr. Julie Reardon? I say go for it...you will NOT regret it, and you have everything to gain.

But after what I recently went through, I have an entirely new level of gratitude for Doug and the care he provides. I recently suffered a brain bleed and, after my hospital stay, I was in an incredible amount of pain. My spine felt angry. I could barely stand up straight, and when I tried, I would get shocking pain through my body. I have never experienced pain like that in my life. I was taking the medications I had been prescribed, but they left me feeling loopy and unlike myself. I was tired of feeling sick. I wanted to feel better. I wanted to feel like ME again. So I called Doug. When I first went in, I could barely even lie on the treatment table without being in pain. Over the course of about six or seven treatments, while continuing the blood pressure medication prescribed by my doctors and following some additional regimens Doug recommended, I began to feel like myself again. I can't say this enough: I am incredibly grateful for Doug and his healing hands. The difference in how I feel today compared with how I felt when I first walked into his office is remarkable. I can walk without being in pain. I can stand up straight. I can move around. I even got on a plane! After everything my body had been through, getting those pieces of my life back meant more to me than I can put into words. If you are struggling with something and feel like you have exhausted your options, I encourage you to consider acupuncture and holistic care alongside the medical care you are receiving. My experience with Doug has been a game changer for me. Doug, thank you for taking care of me when I was hurting, scared, frustrated, and just wanted to feel like myself again. I will forever be grateful.

So the rest of the appointment was taken up with chit chat and being told to read several books, such as The Wahls Protocol. I couldn't believe she thought suggesting books to me to read would suffice and be a sufficient exchange for the high fee I paid to consult with her. Definitely not what I was paying out of pocket for. I cancelled my follow-up phone consult with her, but her assistant messed that up as well, as she ended up phoning me anyway, which was very awkward. She really should have rescheduled my appointment since she was unprepared, and I should have left instead of wasting my time/health with someone so disorganized.
