I texted a picture and she said she was interested. She has a Gerstein on the wall of her house, which I didn't know about. I went in the next day and loved all the Gerstein works, which I had never seen before. I purchased the racehorse for my friend and The girl on a bike for myself. Byung took great care of me and was to mail the 2 works in about 10 days, as we would not have been home to receive them. He took care of everything. We arrived home to California on Sunday and the 2 works of art came the next day. I would highly recommend this gallery. Byung is very personable and extremely helpful and honest. Ryan James is one of the few true fine arts galleries featuring complex "modern, abstract,…read moreconceptual" works of primarily local artists. They close for a few days at the start of every month to rotate their pieces, showcasing different artists each month. They often repaint walls and/or repaint pedestals to match the aesthetics of the new arts being displayed. They also participate in the Seattle Art Fair yearly in July. Many of the featured works are contemporary, as though in the process of creating a new genre. If you enjoy pushing your envelope on art comprehension, this is the place to go. I visited back in June with my niece, who is an art student. We probably spent more time there than many other visitors talking through every piece - discussing methods, ratios, layouts, flow, vibes, and more. We were very drawn to the paintings of Kalina Winska. Her themes often incorporate weather patterns into her art - mist, drizzle, air flow, clouds, etc. We both chose the same work as our favorite - an abstract that looks like weather patterns complete with arrows in swirling random-like directions. It has the longest name ever. See photos. A unique feature of Ryan James is that they have an artwork rental library! For as little as $45 a month, you can enjoy different paintings on your wall. I went into Tsuga Fine Art earlier this year for a custom framing job. I was warmly welcomed, and…read morethe framing options were clearly explained to me. I specifically requested that the frame/mat not cover the low "g" (see photos) on my drawing, and this request was superbly honored. I remember that the time frame for the custom framing job seemed reasonable, and that I felt that the price was reasonable also. The price was around $200. I drew this drawing/doodle last year when my friend Sammar came over to my house for a virtual water tasting with Water Sommelier Martin Riese, but Martin cancelled the virtual water tasting at the last minute due to a personal emergency, so Sammar and I chatted and doodled spontaneously. I do consider this drawing and writing to be a doodle, and I would not have considered framing it of my own accord, but my Brother / Best Friend Ryan, who currently works as a Flight Nurse on a Helicopter (Critical Care Nursing and Emergency Transport Nursing) saw my drawing and he said that he really liked it, and he told me that he wanted it framed for his Birthday. I know that I can do much better with both drawing and calligraphy, so I wasn't sure how Tsuga's staff would react to this drawing/doodle when I'm sure that they deal with professional artists frequently. I didn't draw this with any intention to ever frame it. However, the staff member who handled my custom framing order was very sweet and genuine, and she had a very positive reaction to my drawing as soon as I showed it to her. Ryan loved his Birthday present. I don't remember the exact time frame that the Tsuga staff member said that they would have it ready in, I think it was 3 weeks or so. But I do remember that the custom framing job was done well in advance of Ryan's Birthday, and I also remember that Tsuga completed it within the time frame that they had promised me, which I appreciated. I am very happy with my experience at Tsuga Fine Art, and I would recommend them for custom framing. I would return any time if I ever have anything else that I would like to get custom framed.

More importantly, I was allowed to browse and enjoy the art. Since art is totally subjective, having time to savor the displayed pieces was a big deal to me. Overall, it was like being at an art walk which is one of life's great riches. In addition to the boutique customer service I received, the prices for both the prints and any custom framing were very reasonable. The end result was that I purchased two prints with one of the prints serviced for framing.
