My experience with Vini, the kitchen designer, was extremely disappointing. I was promised one kitchen design and ultimately received something completely different. The entire process became frustrating, time-consuming, and stressful. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting kitchen renovation turned into a very negative experience. I LOVED working with GKB. Daisy, the receptionist is so sweet. My salesperson, Yoselin, was helpful…read morein every possible way. The template guy, Javek, did an incredibly thorough job and taught me so much about what it takes to ensure proper counter care and installation. The installation team was fast and efficient. Overall, it took me 2 weeks from start to finish - from picking the stone to installation. I had the BEST experience here and I was feeling wary at first because of the previous reviews. However, I decided to go with GKB and am so glad I did. In detail, here's why I highly recommend GKB for your counters: 1) Yoselin was so attentive. I would email and call her with a million questions and she always took the time to carefully answer each one. I had her on the phone for 45 min at times and she was never impatient. I felt secure in my transaction because I had Yoselin on my side and I knew she was 100% dedicated to making sure I was happy. 2) Javek is the most knowledgeable template maker you will ever meet. He came and spent 2 hours making a custom template for wood boards. Other companies bring pieces of cardboard and guesstimate. Not Javek. This guy is responsible and exact. 3) Installation team came and had all the pieces installed in 1.5 hours. They were on time and very respectful. 4) The quotes were spot on. No hidden fees, no surprises. You can pay deposits with personal checks. Final payment needs to be in cash. 5) I had the opportunity to go in store and pick out the exact cut of the stone after my template was done. This is great - such flexibility! I literally had the opportunity to tell them which corner of the slab I wanted them to cut from and specify all the details. This process was also easy and pain free. 6) GKB has the largest selection of QUALITY slabs at the best price. I looked at 3-4 different slab vendors. Either the vendors were over pricing their stock or their slabs were uninspiring. The quartzite I ultimately chose was something I found ONLY at GKB. It was the "yes" moment I was waiting for. 7) I felt valued as a customer. They respected me and my time. At the end, I got the exact counters I wanted and they are beautiful. What more could you want?

Really? I should pay thousands of $ to a company to pick out what slabs they want me to have and if I don't like what they pick, their answer is to buy an entire slab or take someone else's leftovers that they couldn't sell. I understand why the reviews are less then stellar.

Every aspect of the job was professional and efficient, from Peter's initial visit and quote, through templating, and finally installation. Home Depot assigned Stone Systems to handle my countertop installation. I trusted Home Depot to…read moreprovide a reliable, professional vendor. Unfortunately, my experience was marked by delays, poor communication, and unprepared installation crews. The person who came to template my countertops was rude and arrogant. I had received no instructions about preparing for the appointment, but I had reasonably cleared the countertops. He wanted everything removed. While I was moving items, he stood there repeatedly pointing out more things to move instead of giving me a moment to finish. His attitude made an already frustrating appointment worse. After that appointment, it took another 20 days for the installers to arrive, with virtually no communication from Stone Systems. The installation window was 8 a.m. to noon, but the crew arrived after 3 p.m. They were unable to level the countertops, left the slabs on my living room floor, and departed for the weekend. We were left to find and hire a carpentry crew ourselves to address any leveling issues with our cabinets. When another crew returned on Monday, they seemed unprepared. They asked whether I had a hair dryer to warm the adhesive; I provided a heat gun. They also used my kitchen paper towels, took a box from another area of my home and cut it up for use with their adhesive without asking, and disposed of adhesive waste in my kitchen trash can. Both my cooktop and sink were present during the templating appointment, yet neither fit the finished countertop openings. The installers left without checking that either one fit. As a result, I had to hire someone to grind down the countertops in place so the cooktop and sink could fit. A professional installation crew should arrive with the tools and supplies needed to do the job, ask before using a customer's belongings, verify that the cooktop and sink fit, and clean up its own waste. Instead, I was left hiring additional help to address problems after installation. I would not recommend Stone Systems, and I'm disappointed that Home Depot partners with them.

My husband and I went out to the store, we live in the Bronx (about 50 minutes away) to check out what options they had that met our budget. We looked up the reviews. Which weren't really helpful. Some were glowing some were awful. We decided to go with GS, because we felt we liked the one stop shop for everything. Their showroom is spectacular and comprehensive. You're not pressured if you're looking around and opening and closing cabinets and drawers. My husband loved they always had sealed pastries and coffee he could make (in a covid world, that's key!) We began working with Doug, who was really great, he was patient and very knowledgeable. He was able to do the initial plans of our kitchen off of random photos, because we didn't know how to measure. He gave us his work cell, walked us around the show room, showed us options, all great! We said we'd think about it, checked out a few other places, but ultimately decided to go with GS. We went back and began the official process in August of 2020 but with someone else who no longer works at GS. We had a few very frustrating hiccups with deliveries and things not being ordered, that should have been ordered. I had a sink base cabinet that came broken (which happens and is nobody's fault) that delayed us about a month. Then my stone was out of stock. Now, these are all things that aren't the fault of anyone in particular however I am all about transparency and communication. Things happen, plans change, and we roll with the punches, but I felt I had to call GS before anything happened. I am very lucky that I had a great contractor (not associated with GS) who was awesome and patient. My kitchen was not fully complete until November. The upfront work of designing and supporting us with designing the kitchen was a 5* Ordering what needed to be ordered 3.5* Timeliness of the project 3* (i know there are production delays) Communication and transparency after the fact 2* The actual cabinet construction is great, the hinges are awesome, the tile and stone are beautiful. I would recommend this company, and will use them again.

The store has easy access to walk through the aisles and look for what you need with different specialty sections. We purchased some pillows once and when we walked in to return a pan, the store associate did the refund in a jiffy and we were out of the store in no matter of time.
