I started using Beautyscape several months ago for my regular yard maintenance. On the very first visit they chopped down my passion flower vine and honeysuckle. I let Trey, the owner, know this and his solution was to have me walk the crew through the yard to point out the plants (apparently the arbor wasn't obvious enough for them). There was no offer to replace the honeysuckle, which never grew back.
I wasn't happy, but gave them another try. They did a decent job after that, so I thought I'd have them do some bigger landscaping projects. I wanted some sod moved but Trey told me they don't do that kind of work, so I hired another crew to come out and do it. I then asked if he could install some river stone in several areas through the yard. He came out and walked the property with me so he'd understand where I wanted the rock and gave me a decent quote. Several weeks passed before his crew came out because they were backlogged and short handed, he said.
The stone they put down when they finally did arrive barely covered the spaces, with several bare patches still exposed. The stone that was supposed to go in the bed over the septic covered barely 1/10th of the bed. I called and Trey said he'd come out and take a look. His crew returned and put down the required stone. A couple of weeks went by and I got an email from Trey asking that I please pay him. I told him I'd not received an invoice and asked that he please email it. Upon receipt I found he'd charged me 50% more than his quote -- from the original $600 up to $900. When I called him out on it and said I was displeased that he'd charged me for his mistakes he said I had changed my mind and that he was not to blame.
My takeaway is that Trey hires decent crew but isn't very good at communicating. It seems he also has more business than he can handle so he doesn't particularly care if you're pleased or not and he's certainly not going to let his mistakes cost him any money. I'd recommend you find another service if you're reading this. read more
