Dr. Nguyen is the best primary care doctor that I have ever had. He always listens to me and does…read morehis best to try and help me out. I always feel like he is taking me seriously and I never feel like I can't tell him about a health-related issue that is bothering me. Before seeing Dr. Nguyen for the first time in 2012, I was Dr. Mark Allison's patient. That guy was TERRIBLE...he treated me like an idiot and a hypochondriac whenever I came in to get help. *storytime* *DISCLAIMER: this is gross* I remember coming in with diarrhea that just wouldn't go away and Dr. Allison said it was just anxiety I had about the last thing I came in for! I had to have diarrhea for a few more days before I went back and insisted that I had the runs for real! He then made me go through a stool sample (and I received no instructions... I messed the first one up trying to fill it from the public toilet there at the facility *OMG* and had to get a new kit and re-do it, omg -- no one at the lab could tell me how to do it either. Google saved me). The sample came back positive for a bacteria that causes problems in some people and was probably from some antibiotics that I took before. Dr. Allison FINALLY gave me Cipro to take care of it after weeks of some Oregon Trail style diarrhea...and that's when I knew I had to find a new doctor! That's when I switched to Dr. Nguyen and the difference was like NIGHT AND DAY. Not only did Dr. Nguyen help me out with problems I came in for, he also noticed problems with my bloodwork that Dr. Allison completely overlooked and also noticed that I had razor bumps on my neck that were infected and gave me clindamycin phosphate which completely healed it. In other words, this doctor pays attention to detail, and more importantly, he pays attention to YOU. I lost Tricare after 2012 and enrolled in IEHP, which he does not take (for good reason! You need an authorization for everything, from CT scans to BREATHING). I switched doctors a few times after that, and all doctors after him were always screwing things up or not listening to me, causing unnecessary delays on top of the IEHP authorization delays. I got a new job in 2017 and enrolled in blue cross/blue shield. The FIRST thing I did was go back to Dr. Nguyen. I'm happy to report that nothing has changed and he is still the best primary care doctor I've ever had.
