They sure do know how to make more money though. They charge a convenience fee of $40 in order to have another groomer help handle the dog. Well for one, my dog isn't aggressive. Has NEVER shown any signs of aggression, we have 3 kids and have never worried of our dog being aggressive or too hard to handle. You'd think that if they'd charge extra for handling him they'd at least do a decent job. That wasn't the case for us. Our poor dog got cut many times, and a severe cut near his private area. There was no mention of it when picked up, so extremely poor communication skills. This isn't the first time this has happened, he's gotten minor cuts in previous groomings but never this bad.

I brought my 8 month old puppy to training there and a couple play days in preparation for boarding. I then decided to board her over Easter for a last-minute trip instead of leaving her home with my grown son. I booked her boarding on April 3rd for my trip starting on April 14th. My son was very upset about not being able to keep her so on April 10th while she was at a play day, I explained the situation to the kennel and asked if I could just put my $180 boarding deposit towards future play days and cancel the boarding as keeping my son happy was more important to me than boarding my puppy. Well, it turns out that April 5 was the deadline for cancellation. I know for a fact they were not full as I was able to choose her boarding area. The deadline was literally two days after I confirmed and paid the $180 deposit for her boarding, yet I don't remember anyone telling me about the deadline to cancel being two days later. It blows me away that with my unique circumstances, they refused to put my $180 towards future play days as I would've been bringing her there 2 to 3 times a month at $30 a day not to mention the training sessions I would have been booking. I booked it two days before the supposed deadline and a week later, I had to change my mind due to family issues. I was not asking for my money back. I just wanted to be able to use it somewhere else. Lastly please be aware that you are charged for all play days and training sessions when you book the date instead of the day of service. This doesn't seem right. They already have your credit card on file so there's no need to charge you ahead of time. That should be done after the training or play days are completed.

My dogs always come back looking exactly how I have asked and Kelly keeps notes on their cuts so that they are consistent every time. Kelly is professional and kind. Honestly I think any one star reviews would probably be due to miscommunication or human error. You HAVE to be a dog person to go into this business so I don't think Kelly has ever "traumatized" a dog or intentionally didn't listen to instructions. Since she is running this salon almost single-handedly, you can rest assured that you'll always be talking to the owner (Kelly) with any of your concerns. We switched from another groomer who took forever to check him out because their operations were too large and disorganized. The last time I took him to Anna's in February the price was significantly cheaper. The cut wasn't as good but also he had to be shaved cause his hair was all matted. Not the groomer's fault. I tried to book another appointment and I asked the woman why the price difference. She looked at his profile and said it's 25 lbs dog. I said "my dog is 17 lbs, so was I changed the wrong amount all those other times?" She offered to have the owner call me. Owner never called. I called back a day later to cancel the appointment that I booked because our dog didn't quite need it yet but I still wanted to chat with the owner. I explained the situation and I got such inconsistent messaging. She first told me some groomers charge by weight but they do not. I told her I wasn't the one who brought up weight and correlation to price, the person working for her did. She then said the groomer usually makes a judgement on what price and she allows them to charge what they want. Then towards the end she said most of them charge the prices she sets. She explained that the last woman I had was an apprentice and new so she charged a lower price to begin with but by the end of her 5 month rotation, she charged about the same as the rest of groomers. The entire convo was really awkward and circular. I think I'll be finding a new place after that experience.
