The front desk person never made me aware of that, then that would have been a "consultation appointment!" - First red flag. Luckily they had "one more Meyer's cocktail" which is what I wanted. Second red flag - they used a butterfly needle to start and infuse my IV. This is a major NO NO (see picture below). Any healthcare professional knows that butterflies are used to draw blood not administer anything, since a needle should not be left in place. This is not best practice. The nurse started infusing the fluids with no vitamins inside until I asked her if she had prepared the infusion and she said no - she still had to add it? She calls the ARNP Danay and they discuss amongst each other that the one Meyer's cocktail they had was ... expired! Thank God they checked, but now I had an unnecessary IV in my arm (with a needle nonetheless not IV catheter) The girl from the front desk was nice enough to offer me a complimentary B12 shot. Overall grateful they checked the expiration date but this was a terrible experience.
