I was nervous about the dermaplane bc with my PCOS I tend to be on the furry side and I am a firm believer in waxing. It's been a few weeks and my skin still feels amazing. And no stubble feeling. Eyebrows changed my life - I kid you not - and it was all thanks to Stephanie Brick…read more First, let us go back a few months to when I first met her that balmy fall day. I had just arrived at Amanda Hill's studio where we were doing a pin-up shoot. I had been following the Memphis Bombshells on Facebook and really wanted to have some photos like that before I turned 30 (eeeek!!). I had seen Stephanie's work before (both hair and makeup) via Amanda and I knew this chick was a genius so I bit the bullet. Plus, you know that feeling you get when you just *know* someone is cool? Well, not only is she cool but I *knew* Stephanie was a hair/makeup genius the moment I walked in the door. It was love at first sight and now I've had her do my hair and makeup for 3 shoots. She has done vintage to contemporary and I've loved it all. I would hire her to do my makeup and hair every day if I could afford it because it is no coincidence that my dates go way better when I see them after I see her...but this is still not how she changed my life. She changed my life when I booked her for a makeup lesson. I asked her to teach me how to contour my face (aka make it look thinner - hello Kim Kardashian, thanks for introducing me to this concept) and not only did she do that (in the privacy and convenience of my own home I might add)...but she told me about filling in my eyebrows. And THAT is when my life was transformed. I know you think I'm being silly or dramatic or exaggerating...but I'm not. Not even a little. Everywhere I go now I get compliments on my eyebrows and there is a direct correlation between people telling me I'm pretty and me filling in my eyebrows. If these puppies aren't filled in, I am one plain Jane walking through this world. In comparison, my current boyfriend goes absolutely gaga when my eyebrows are done (and he doesn't even know that is what is making him swoon...he just knows my makeup is different and that he likes it.) My best friend's fiancee saw me on New Years and hadn't seen me since this little transformation and literally asked her to start doing her eyebrows like mine. Who knew eyebrows could make someone feel so sexy?! Anyways, not only Stephanie Brick rock my world with the eyebrow revelation, but she also taught me how to correctly do my eye makeup. I've been walking around this world for 28 years with way too thick eyeliner looking like Cleopatra gone wrong...and now (I don't mean to brag but...) I can finally do a proper wingtip! Stephanie was a blessing in my life and I know that sounds ridiculous to some but proper makeup makes a huge difference...especially when you're getting older and trying to hide the flaws and highlight the good. Her rates are completely reasonable and I implore you to give her a try - it can be life changing!! P.S. If you're on Instagram follow her @girlmakesface!

I'll start by saying that I am not a person who gets my nails done, but I had this urge to do…read moresomething different. I don't know the nail lingo so when I called, I needed it for a Wednesday and I wanted them"done". Had I known any better, I would've said full set. On Wednesday a basic manicure is what you get. After about the third coat of clear polish, I asked if I was getting actual nails and that's when I was told I was only getting what I got. I wish this was clear from the beginning because I definitely came in and announced myself as new and I know they knew I wasn't a regular. Once it was clear that I wasn't getting a full set, I just went on with the appt bc at this point all is left is polish. The lady couldn't do a full set bc she had other clients. This took almost an hour & there wasn't any other ppl there waiting for nails while I was there or when I left. She did try to reschedule me for a full set the next day or after. But it was a reason why i needed to be there on that particular Wednesday. Minus my nails, the service was ok, I didn't find the atmosphere to be relaxing. It doesn't give me spa vibes or relaxation. The place could use a facelift. Next time I will be very clear on what I want, my nails are ok I think they'd look cleaner if it was a full set. These were 15 dollars, so you get what you pay for. I may go back, but for now. That'll do it! Lastly. All pics are from same day of service.

I am sorry to say that today I am not highly rating this business…read more I have been receiving services here for almost a year, and today was the worst. I had a 3:45pm appointment and was not assisted until almost an hour later. There was no compensation offered and not even an acknowledgment until at least 30 minutes after I arrived. If appointments are not going to be adhered to, then why have them? It should not matter if you're busy, that should not overstep an appointment. This was the second time I experienced this, as my last appointment was the same and when I checked out, the gentleman did not want to give me the $5 gift card I earned, on an email promo. Once I was finished, I went to pay. I had a $5 gift card from my last appointment, which I received from a discount text, that I had to prove I received, for $50 plus, services. I also received another text for a $5 discount if I received services of $50 plus. The guy that checked me out (same gentleman as before; I am assuming one of the managers) stated I could not use 2 discounts, I explained I only wanted the $5 card for my next visit, especially due to the almost hour wait and I still spent $100. He said he would not. At that very moment, I decided I would no longer patronize Milano Nail Salon in Germantown. When you consistently spend over $100 on nail services, IX monthly, there should be some consideration when appointments are not kept by the staff. I can say that Trang has ALWAYS been very welcoming and does a superb job and Emilee & Henry are great at their jobs. Respectfully Submitted, Sabrina Walker
