I had a mixed Russian + classic full set done. Unfortunately, my experience was very different from the other reviewers. Please note that I have been regularly getting my lashes done for the last 4 years. I've recently moved to the Kits area so I was in search for a new technician. I have never had such an uncomfortable experience in all these years. The process was very uncomfortable and painful to the point where I even considered stopping the appointment. My eyelids were taped uncomfortably too high at the corners. The tape was pulling on my eyelids so hard that my eyes were pulled slightly open and the bright light was blinding me. I managed to wiggle my eyes out of the grip that I could keep my eyes 100% closed. My top eyelids felt too exposed and the glue was stinging me. Throughout the appointment, her hand kept resting on my forehead or nose which made it very uncomfortable and unprofessional as well. I was also disappointed with my initial consultation prior to beginning the appointment. I communicated that I wanted full, dramatic long lashes. There was one lash left from my previous set (done by a different technician) and she told me that the lash was too heavy for my natural lashes and that she wanted to preserve my natural ones. Fair enough, however I am fully aware of what I'm signing up for and the risks involved. I wanted something dramatic since I was leaving for a beach vacation the very next day and didn't want to put on any other extra makeup during this time. However, after some more back and forth, she insisted that we go a more natural look so I eventually agreed. Once the appointment was finished and I went home to have a good look, I was very disappointed since it did not have the dramatic look that I was hoping for. For a natural look, the lashes and texturing turned out nice. Unfortunately, it just wasn't what I wanted. Unfortunately, I will not be returning due to the uncomfortable procedure and unwillingness to cater to the client. In hindsight, I'm upset at myself for not directly speaking up or giving constructive criticism during my appointment. Live and learn. read more

I am new to the world of lash extensions and like many, my first few attempts at another salon were rocky, to say the least. Now that I have found "The Beauty Corner" and Polina, I am GTG! All of the reviews you will read are TRUE! Polina is amazing...... "mic drop!" It was a wonderful experience to have such professionalism and an actual explanation of things. My previous salon just assumed I knew what I wanted and how things work. Well I didn't, which let to not liking my eyelashes the first few time. I also didn't understand why they were falling out in chunks and never looked quite right. Polina explained that the length and thickness you can wear will have limits based on your own lashes. My previous technician just seemed to throw whatever on and it always seemed rushed. There is real care and precision taken while Polina makes you look your best. I was much happier with my new look and my lashes felt more comfortable, more natural. I also feel they actually look more natural, even though they are fuller and curlier than I could ever hope to have with my mediocre genetics lol. I did the plush volume mix set. $120 for a new set, which included removal of the disaster set I had on. The Beauty Corner is small, but it's clean and comfortable with competitive prices. You get to listen to some old school tunes while Polina does her thing! Tips are also not expected. I tried to tip and she would not let me lol. It's kind of nice when you are already forking out so much Moolah! Just a heads up.....it's a little hard to find this place, so make sure you look for the address. There is no street sign or sandwich board to alert you. I walked right passed it lol! read more

I had a really comfortable enjoyable time getting my lashes put on. I went on vacation and my face was in the sun, sand, ocean, pool, and I came home with MANY lashes still intact. The price is great, the experience is great, and the quality is great :) read more

This is my favourite place to get my lashes done. I've tried out some other places (both local and in San Fransisco) and I have yet to find a better place, in both quality and cost. I would definitely recommend anybody to come here for their lashes! She has just moved into a bigger studio and it's just the perfect size so you don't feel claustrophobic but yet you feel really cozy. There are blankets for when you get cold and the bed/seating is very comfortable. I tend to doze off 15 minutes in and it's a very relaxing experience. Polina is also very efficient with her time - if it's your first time or you're getting a full set for the first time in a while, it'll only take an hour or so. Her lashes are also great quality and stay in for over a month, minimum. There is also very little discomfort throughout the whole process, which is always a plus, because I've been to places that charge way more and yet still many to bruise my eyelash line in some way. read more

I've had my share of great and horrible experiences getting my lashes done and I had my lashes done by Polina when she was working out of a different lash extension company before and I'm so happy to have found her again! Polina is excellent at what she does. She is quick, but not rushed so you do get a great full look in less time that you are booked for. I have seen many many techs and Polina is gentle and calm during your time with her. It's actually pretty relaxing and a great place to decompress as you really can't do anything while she works on your lashes! Unlike some other lashes, the ones you walk out with from The Beauty Corner feel light and like you don't have any extensions on. I've been to see Polina for fills a couple times now and it's always the same great experience. I like a slightly more natural look and she LISTENS unlike some other techs I've dealt with who think they know best. The pricing is reasonable for the quality you receive. The lashes look and feel great which is most important. Bonus is that it's around the corner from Beaucoup Bakery so you can grab a treat before or after your appointment! read more

This is it ladies, look no further! After a weird experience at Cleopatra Lash Lounge (check my review there) I almost gave up on lashes, but 'twas Christmas and I was determined to have a celebratory drama eyes, or whatever. Anyways, I ended up going to Polina and she fixed my lashes and has been in charge of them since. She works fast, but gentle. The lashes never sting. I usually do the mixed volume plush and go every 3 weeks. She gets booked fast so hurry. I also sent a few friends and they were all happy! read more

I just got my first ever extension done a few days back and the whole experience was wonderful. There was the scent of essential oil in the air, with soft music and warm blankets to help you relax. As a first timer, I wanted more of a subtle, natural look so I chose the classic set and it is exactly what I wanted. I opened my eyes after 40 mins or so to my perfect lashes!! The owner also took time to answer all the questions I have before I left her studio. I will definitely keep Beauty Corner in mind when it's time for my next set :) read more

I love Polina. I've been to 3 other lash bars. One put on giant plastic claws, one gave me a bad case of blepharitis and the other one I had a reaction to the glue. I've never had any of these issues and just come out relaxed with fabulous Russian Volume lashes with Polina. She is a real pro and cares that you have a good experience and love your lashes. Polina was careful to listen to what I wanted and really took her time to give me the best result possible. I could tell that her work was a matter of pride for her. Polina is amazing. I have been to multiple lash salons and have never had lashes that look so good let alone at such a great price. Polina is meticulous and really listens to what you are looking for and then delivers just that! The lash sessions never sting, she's really gentle, and really personable to boot! She is also incredibly up to date with what is out there in terms of lashes. The last time I was in, she gave me lighter lashes that look extra full, but don't fall out as quickly which is an option I have never had at other salons. I recommend Polina to all of my friends. I've been a customer of Polina since before I moved away for college, and I can honestly say that the Beauty Corner offers the best service at an extremely competitive price point (and trust me, she beats other places with much higher price points). Polina is skilled and quick: a classic set typically takes no longer than an hour for me. She is knowledgeable about what she does and is always able to offer valuable advice regarding lash length and type based on your lashes' conditions (not all lashes come equal!!). A typical set usually lasts me 3-4 weeks with no issues at all. Her new studio is spacious and clean, perfect for a quick snooze while Polina works her magic. I had my first appointment with the owner Polina and I was blown away. I felt very comfortable, she was extremely knowledgeable as she gave me many options on how my lashes could look. The bed was extremely comfortable and the atmosphere was perfect. As I have gotten my lashes done many times at other salons, nothing tops this. My eyes didn't water once, when they usually do like crazy and when I opened my eyes they didn't sting and my lashes looked Incredible! I left feeling beautiful as ever!
