I met Gerine when I was the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding, and as soon as my now-husband proposed and we chose a date, I contacted Gerine because I knew I had to have her for my wedding too! Gerine is a lovely person and wonderful makeup artist...she made all of the girls in my wedding party feel like beautiful princesses. My older sister, who almost never likes the way she looks in photos said about her makeup job "Wow! So that's what it feels and looks like for celebrities" and she loved the way she looked in photos. Not only did Gerine make everyone look gorgeous on the day of, she was very organized leading up to the day. She arrived early and had already asked the hotel staff to open the room...so she was set up and ready to go when I arrived. She worked out a nice schedule for our large wedding party and accommodated our very early start time (we had a Sunday brunch wedding). Also, she made some excellent recommendations on a hair stylist as well as someone else to do hair/makeup for my mother and mother-in-law. Not only is Gerine amazing, she has some awesome connections in the beauty industry and really helped make our pampering morning perfect. And, everyone looked absolutely beautiful afterwards, both in person and in our wedding pictures and video. What impresses me most about how Gerine works is that she has a nice vision and talent for how to handle any face shape or skin tone. And, she makes even fake eyelashes feel natural and comfortable. I was very lucky to have been given Gerine's info! I had a make up and hair stylist lined up for my engagement party when she had to cancel a few days before. I scrambled to find another artist who would be able to come on-site and not be insanely expensive. I had messaged a few make up artists who were generous to give me other referrals who put me in touch with Gerine. She was able to fit me in her schedule and was so sweet. She would follow up with me and when I sent her photos of what I wanted, was excited to make it happen. She arrived at my place and my friends were impressed with her demeanor. in 2010 I had the pleasure of being a hair model for Gerine and she did my makup too, which was amazing. The expectation was to be published in one magazine however, when it was all said and done not only did we make it into the initial magazine, her exceptional work got me published into 6 other hair stylist publications. Geriene is increadably talented so much so that the other stylist and makup artist at the photoshoot were watching her every move as she worked her magic to transform me from an ugly duckling into a beautiful lady. I even had one stylist pull me aside as I was waiting to have my photos taken to tell the artist working on her model that she wanted her models makup exactly like mine with no exceptions. I had gone to two other makeup artists before Gerine and was losing hope that I could find someone that didn't make me look like a clown or all wrinkled thanks to air brushing (air brushing did not flatter me at all, but I do know some people swear by it). I found Gerine since she uses Mac products, which always seem to flatter me most of all. Once she did my trial makeup, I felt total relief. She did a beautiful job on my makeup and brought out my best features. Her rates were reasonable, and she comes to you on the wedding day, which is very convenient. On the wedding day, she did an amazing job, not just on my makeup, but on my bridesmaids and family. Everyone looked great in their pictures and the makeup lasted all night. She came to my house and did my trial, she listened to everything that I wanted and used her professional knowledge to transform my face. Gerine made all my ladies and I so gorgeous for my special day! She had great quality make up and really took the time to make sure all the ladies looked perfect for the special day. She came to our hotel downtown (didn't charge extra for travel since it was within a set range) and set everything up perfectly.
