I normally love this store. They generally have everything I am looking for or saw referenced in some obscure social media video or post. This wasn't a good day... I came here to try wigs for my vacation and was told only 3 wigs per $1 wig cap. *Eyeroll* but I'm used to hearing that. So I was given the cap, I don't know where it came from. I guess a box because it wasn't unwrapped. The lady left me to whatever I wanted to try and showed me the mirrors in the back. After that she left and went back to the front. I'm used to them talking to you, asking you what you want, bringing you something else. No service was given. Or at least asking if you needed their help. Anyway, I tried on a wig I liked and had to go to the front to find her again. The wig on the display was $117 and in a special color. She went and picked the wigs and told me oh no we don't have that color. Okay, so I asked well can you check a store nearby to see if they have it. She just ignored me. I said I want this one and she said I'll give you 10% off if you get the display. I said that's not enough money, it's basically a used wig with all the random heads that tried it on. She said no one tried it on...uh excuse me ma'am it's a display wig...it's definitely been tried on. Anyway I offered a different discount of at least 20% and she turned it down. I said ok put it back and go to leave. She mumbles something and then yells to me to pay the $1 at the front desk. Just rude. I won't be back here to buy wigs. It's obviously a different vendor. Definitely for products because the girls at the front are kind and helpful. The wig counter can keep all those used wigs. I didn't appreciate the service. I am hair Braider and shop at beauty 4 u for hair products. I've been shopping at this location for 6+ years. I purchased Camille rose hair products. Upon opening it, it smelled like chemicals. It's a natural product. I went to the store to exchange it due to the smell. I planned to make sure the replacement smelled correctly before leaving the store. The manager tried to say it was final sale; Their policy does not state it. I explain your policy does not say anything about hair care products being final sale except wigs, coloring products, etc.. The manager then stated due to Covid they can't expect any products. Which no where in the store states that!!! He then says I can give you a discount on your next purchase. Discount?! DO NOT SHOP HERE. Disappointed by the attitude and comments made to me by the lady in the wig section of Beauty for U in Waldorf. I was in an aisle with my arms filled with hair products that I planned to buy, and I was trying to compare style and color of several units by lying them side by side.  She approached me and started putting all of them back while I was still looking at them! I explained that I was comparing the colors, so I needed to see them altogether and she seemed annoyed and said flatly, "number one is darker than number two what do you want? I'm looking at my stock."  I unhooked two of the units she had put back to continue shopping and she continued to hover, saying rudely "are you buying both?" Did she think I was stealing? I have spent 1000s of dollars in this store. What happened to "can I get you a basket?" Or "are you finding everything okay?" I have shopped there for years, and the customer service has always left a bad taste in my mouth. But because of convenience I have returned again and again. Now after this interaction I am forced to come to terms with the fact that the displays of poor customer service are not the result of poor training, cultural behavior, but a conscious choice being made on purpose by ignorant merchants who have no respect for the community they serve the most. Please Read!!!!! I purchased a Red Pro hair steamer from Beauty4U. I had the steamer for exactly one week and hair the steamer stopped working. I kindly returned to the store where the manager had the nerve to tell me that this was my problem and he wouldn't give me an exchange or refund. I was so upset, I sat and my car and cried. Then I remembered what my mother taught me. Always put big purchases on your credit card. I called my credit card company and filed a grievance against the store and quoted the information from the Maryland Attorney Generals page and I got my money back through them. I am only posting this because for some reason, some (not all) Asian American stores do not respect our dollars. Please take heed and know your rights because I think that most of us never follow up and file grievances. If you buy from this store, please use a credit card (no cash). If you use cash you will have to go to Prince George's Counties Consumer grievance system and you still might have to still take them to small claims court. I fought them through my credit card company and won and you can too. Don't go through the BBB.org This store doesn't reply to complaints. We need to fight to show that our dollars matter. This will only work on defective items. Please check the Maryland Attorney General's Page....you have the right to return something that is broken. read more

Talk about poor customer service... I purchased 3 packs Kadi Natural hair, and did not realize that i purchased the incorrect type of kadi natural hair until i was ready to do my hair. I went to the store to do an exchange and the young lady was about to exchange the products and then i told her up front that i opened one of the packs. Then she stopped and ask the "Hair Manger" could she return the hair. The manager said no. I was not asking for refund just an even exchange. The hair was not used and I place in back in the packing. She would not return the hair because i did not place the hair back in the packaging how it was prior to opening. Maybe if i wasnt honest i would have been able to get my exchange done. This WAS my go-to beauty supply store! Unfortunately today I shopped for wet and wavy hair and I made the mistake of putting my hands through the hair on the mannequin. Big mistake...the older man working there asked me to not touch the hair or twist it around my fingers. I asked him if it was a new policy because most customers TOUCH the hair that they would like to purchase. He said the hair was for looking...not touching! Then the nice young lady asked if I needed help. As she was assisting me, he stood there staring and lurking at a distance...watching me the entire time!!! I made my selection and went to the wall area where the higher-end hair products were. I didn't find what I was looking for, so I got in line to check out. The same man who obviously was watching and following me went to the same area I just left and it really looked like he was checking to see if there was something missing. I'm insulted and as a FORMER LOYAL customer I'd like to say that I do know that people steal from beauty supply stores all the time! And a lot of the thieves may look like me. I can't touch the hair I'm purchasing....get followed around like a criminal, and left unhappy and aware of these issues we've had between our Black and Korean communities for years. The male owners or Managers treat me with so much respect. I really love how they took the time to help with a lost receipt that had credit to purchase items a while back. And when I return an item they trust me. They remembered me and go above and beyond. One is young and the other is older. Both top notch and always honor my discount card. I love this Beauty 4 U! The ladies are stylish, nice and helpful. All the ppl there are great. I like going to this beauty supply store because of the selections and customers services. I will not be shopping from this place ever again. I went in today to get hair extensions for my salon visit per usual, and I asked for two packs of 18" 1B. I got to my salon visit to find out as she was opening the pack that the lady had grabbed one pack of the wrong color. In my years of shopping here, I have never had this happen. So when I called, the girl on the phone initially had answered my question when I started airing my concerns, but follow up with, "So what's your question." A bit unprofessional, no? Then, my hairstylist said since we opened it, you probably will not be able to exchange it. When I called to ask for clarity on that the girl again was rude, and said, "Well since you opened it, no." I explained to her that the lady gave me the wrong color, and she very much came off like it was my fault that It was my fault that the employee that pulled the wrong color for me. I drove an hour, and a half to see my stylist I've been with for 18 years, and always stop by your store on the way to get the things I need. Never again. The only reason I'm giving one star is because I can't go below. I am completely disappointed at the customer service here at this store. In the past, I purchased several wigs from here and they were highly recommended by me, now I promise you I will encourage everyone to order their wigs online and only try them on in the store. I asked to use the restroom my last visit and I was denied, although they let me use their facilities in the pass. The Asian woman who helped me a lot in the past became to comfortable with me and began to criticize my face and body. This is totally unprofessional. I came to this store to buy my very first wig. I asked for assistance and the young lady that assisted me was nice but she didn't have any experience with wigs and gave me incorrect information . You are not allowed to open the package so you have to take their word for it. I paid $160.00 for what I thought was 100% human hair. It was not. The wig was very very poor quality synthetic wig that didn't last even a week. There are no refunds even if they give you the wrong information. A complete waist of money. I wish I could give this a negative 5 rating for my experience today. Went in with two of my daughters to try on wigs to test different color/looks/styles out. Paid for their wig cap, "according to their policy" so that I could try on their "maximum of 5" according to their signage. About 4 wigs later, this rude, racist, Asian "lady" (I use this term graciously & loosely because I am a lady) following me around at every turn, decided to approach me, not to help me, but to inquire as to my purpose for trying on wigs! Excuse me, but I didn't realize that was any of your business nor are you the owner!! She then rudely accuses me of exceeding their "wig try-on policy limit of 5" to which I responded to let her know that I could not only read & count, being fully aware of that policy and that I was not only a healthcare professional who manages other people, but that her behavior and service was unacceptable. I then proceeded to speak with her manager to explain this unnecessary incident that my daughters had to witness. So "Shin," if that's even your real name, you need to start treating those who patronage this shop with respect, that includes the large customer base of African Americans or maybe you'll find yourself out of a job if myself and others have anything to do about it. Your actions were deplorable and neither myself, my daughters, and the number of people whom I tell or read this review and take note, will frequent this Waldorf Beauty 4 U again. I'd rather spend my money anywhere else but here thanks to you!!! There is another beauty supply shop, your competition, 1 minute away right next door to TJ Maxx which I'm sure would be more than happy to sell me products for less and with better service. Last Saturday I purchased my usual wig and didn't really notice that the Asian lady that knows me by face switched the wig in the pack for the display wig. They will lie and say that you can return unopened stuff with the receipt for a cash refund. Then when you go to return, they want to issue you a store credit. The girls walk around like they just don't want to be there, they are very unapproachable, and are rude. One girl puts the receipt on the counter to sign, when I handed her my credit card, rude! Store manager James from Waldorf has by far the poorest most disrespectful customer service skills in anyone I have ever met and should not be in a manager position if he doesn't understand how to help a customer. I came in for an exchange not Money. I called ahead before taking an hour drive to return some unused hair because i did not have the receipt I personally spoke with James who told me I could exchange when I got there it was a while different story about how he could lose his job needed my receipt then he gave me the number to "headquarters" in temple hills where a gentle said I could use my membership to find my receipt . James had already left me standing at the counter so another lady came looked up my receipt purchase date was 12/27/15 today is 1/29/16 so 2 days past the 30 days to return the gentleman from headquarter said that my hair could still be returned he spoke to Jameson the phone he gave me back the phone consulted with a lady and walked away a few minutes later he walks last with some boxes i ask are you able to return my hair he says no........ So now I'm irate he walked away before even giving a solution or saying anything just walked away By far the worst customer service I have ever Experienced. Also I was given a customer service number that no one ever answer and you can only leave messages. I am a very disappointed customer and this store will NEVER get my business again read more

Went in today to have my mom fitted for her first wig, she's going through her first round of chemo and wanted to be prepared for when her hair starts to fall out. Just wanted to say how AMAZING Miss Morgan was with helping my mom pick a wig! She was very kind and understanding but also honest with my mom when something just didn't fit her. Horrible customer service! Visited the Waldorf, MD location recently to purchase haircare products. During my shopping I had to use the restroom. I asked one of the owners where the restroom was and I was told "customers cannot use the restroom." Seriously?! We can spend our money but cannot use your restroom? Initially I was extremely excited about the variety of hair B4U had. However, their customer service sucks. On 2 occasions the staff have shown me pure cruelty. The very first time, I was shoppong with 2 very small (children 1 and 3 year old) and 6 months pregnant. I requested to use the bathroom. Unfortunetly, with pregnancy comes frequent urination and it comes suddenly. I asked the manager to use the bathroom, and was told no and shoed me away like an animal. With tears my children begged the lady to allow me to use the bathroom, she refused, I'm embarrased to say how that story ended....(2nd offense) I arrived at the store at 750pm, the store closes at 8pm. The store was already locked, I asked staff to let me in and assured him that it wouldn't take long, I already knew what I wanted. The store clerk shouted "store closed" and locked the door on me and me 3 children. My 6 year old, who is extremely excited about telling time, checked his watch and said "mommy it's not 8:00" I confirmed with him and explained the situation. I am extremely concerned about this neighborhood resource, if it's mission is not to serve it's community. After the first offense, I have visited this store maybe twice within the last 3 years, and each time, no difference. I encourage all to skip over this Waldorf franchise and try the others in Marlow Heights or Oxon Hill, or scratch B4U all together. Product is nothing without the service. I've been humilated and is extremely dissatisfied with the customer service received on various occassions at this store. IM DONE!!! read more

I like coming to this store because they have a great variety of products here. The store is well organized and always clean. I personally have not experienced any bad customer service issues and I can use my professional license here for a discount. Their prices are above market value, but it's convenient because I don't have to go to multiple stores to find the products that I need. I'm glad they have this store in our area. read more

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Today was my last time going to this store. On Saturday 6/30/18, I stopped by to get conditioner. I realized I needed a few more items so I walked the store and got what I needed. At the same time, I noticed the same one guy passing by me several times rearranging items near where I would be. I did not say anything as it was very annoying. Just before checking out, I took notice of a few lip cosmetics but I realized I needed a basket to free my hands and look at the samples. I retrieved a basket and shortly after determining a color I proceeded to the counter. I put everything on the counter I picked up. I checked out and went on my way. Well, once home, I realized I had items in my bag and on my receipt that I neither picked up nor put on the counter to purchase. The store was already closed so I could not call on Saturday. I could not make it back to the store on Sunday but nonetheless went today right after work. I explained to the store manger at the time, "these three make applicators ($2.99 each) were added to my bag that I did not pick up. I think the clerk grabbed these items from the counter that had already been there prior to my purchase." He reviewed the receipt circled the items, apologized for the mistake and offered store credit. Now, if the mistake were my fault, I would have accepted store credit. However, it was the error of your employee. He told me, "since it's not same day I have to get store credit". When I disagreed to the store credit and asked him to review the film to take note I did not pick up such items to purchase, he did just that only to come back and confirm I made a purchase. He still wanted to offer me store credit. I asked him politely "did you review me picking up such items". He verbalized, "I can't look at the film for that". At that time I realized, this store and brand is only about one agenda, sale product by any means necessary. If I had shoplifted those three items, I'm sure the film would have been reviewed and police called. Thank you for forcing me to experience better and not settle. I will not be back. I visited this store for the first and last time last weekend. I was purchasing some hair and wasn't familiar with the store. I asked one of the young ladies at the cash register. The lady was rude! I asked where the Remi hair was located. She was talking in between about going on break. She told me " go over there". Very rude. It only takes a minute to be polite and direct a new customer to the area of the store where the product is located. I am military and will definetly share my experience. I will say that the young lady that assisted me directly with the various packages of hair on the other side was very cordial. Please train your help on customers service. read more
