I went to Tig for take down service of the hairstyle in the picture. This is the second time I've come here for take down service and been satisfied. As an African American woman who loves her protective styling, I loathe the take down process. Each time I've come here I've called the day of and been able to obtain same day services. I didn't have to schedule a month out like some places. I wasn't overcharged for length or size of braids. I wasn't overcharged for a wash and blow dry. I admit I was skeptical going to anyone [non-black] but I'm so glad I took a chance and you should too. They were gentle with my hair and used heat protection. Oh my take down included a shampoo, condition, blow dry, and flat iron. I opted to forego the flat iron because I wear it in its natural fluffiness. I thought they were kind and communicated what I wanted the entire time. I was in and out within 2.5 hours I think. Each time I've gone, it's only been max 4 people and that includes the stylists, which is nice. Some places are fast but packed and the customer service takes a back seat. As I became aware that many of the stores in the strip said they did not have a public restroom, I was persistent to find one as I had a 4 year old who has recently graduated from potty training who needed to go to the bathroom urgently. As I had ask two prior businesses on the same strip if they had bathrooms, which you clearly could not see or find, I came across this business with women who I thought would understand the struggle of a 4 year old little girl having to use the bathroom. Lo and behold, whoever was working in the first front booth on the left side of the establishmen thought it would be in her best interest to stop me as I am walking back out the door after she was informed that my daughter could not use their bathroom. After realizing my daughter still did not have a restroom to use, I told my daughter to come on so we could find another one. Mind you, the woman who said my daughter could not use the bathroom left her client and booth to catch me at the door. Apparently, she had to say "ma'am" twice to catch my attention as my back was facing her which indicates I was almost out of the establishment. When I turned back around, she asked me "where are you coming from". At first, I did not clearly understand what she was asking me, as I was in my way to another business to see if there was a bathroom my daughter could use. Then I thought, maybe she was going to give my daughter an exception as she is only 4. When I finally understood what she said, I told the woman I was waiting on my Husband at another business on the strip and my daughter was desperately stating she had to go to the bathroom while we were in the car. As someone who never known a hair salon to deny a child access to a bathroom regardless of if they are getting a service, I thought the woman was going to let my daughter use the bathroom because she was small. But appalling to me, she had the audacity to say "why you ain't get mad at the other business when you couldn't use their bathroom". I told her as nicely and professionally as I could have that they actually did not have bathrooms in view to use and if I was already leaving, why was she stopping me at the door as I am leaving. She also added nastily that I could go to the car wash, which was quite a walking distance in heels from the salon with a 4 year old tugging at you doing the "pee pee" dance. Now, woman to woman, whoever you are, you tested my patience as I was in front of my child and could not give you that exact energy you were looking for but you might want to check your tone towards any mother in distress asking for assistance with their child. I told my daughter to come on and was not talking to you. You made it about you so if you felt I had an attitude towards you, that's on you. But know this, if you keep that nasty attitude and negative energy, expect the same energy back and realize that everyone will not be as professional and walk away because their child is present. Once you said my daughter could not use the bathroom, that should have been the end of our conversation and not you feeling the need to leave your booth and client to keep something going from a simple question. Direct that energy to whoever had you mad today because I am not the one.

What I wanted were cornrows but really wasn't sure if my hair was too short, which it did turn out to be too short. The ladies recommended braids and to come back at 2pm. I left and received a call to come in within an hour after me leaving. I was excited. Kadi, took on the challenge of braiding my hair and when I tell you she did nothing short of a miracle. I was 110% satisfied with the style and the time it took. I loved the look, the size and the care she showed to me. All the ladies here at this braidery do amazing work. I'm definitely going to be going back for my lemonade style in a few months. I recommend anyone make this place your option.
