I brought my wedding dress here for alterations and bustle. It was a complicated dress because it…read morewas several sizes too big and had many layers of tulle, as it was a 'ball gown'. The entire process of teaching my mom and sister to bustle the dress was extremely rushed. Although Mrs. Young would later say the suggested we practice bustling the dress before the wedding, this did not happen. I specifically did not put the dress on before the wedding because it was pressed, and I didn't want to get it dirty. When it came time to bustle my dress on the day of my wedding, we experienced great difficulty.  My mom and sister were not able to bustle the dress.  We reached out to multiple wedding guests as well as employees of the country club, none of whom were able to bustle my dress.  We spent almost an hour trying to bustle the dress before eventually giving up and using safety pins to hold up the dress. Worst of all was the time I lost at my wedding that I can never get back.  I reached out to Mrs. Young regarding this matter. I asked her if she would preserve my dress for me free of charge. She declined to preserve my dress, stating that we hadn't asked questions related to the bustle prior to the wedding. Although my dress looked beautiful prior to the bustle, I would not feel comfortable referring friends or family here.

I first went to NC Custom Tailoring on March 23rd with 10 shirts to be shortened. I was told it would take 2 weeks but needed 2 of them for a trip from April 1 - April 8th. They accommodated that request and I went to pick those 2 up on March 31st. They were identical shirts but for the color and when I got home and tried them on they were 2 different lengths. Since I had left another 8 behind to be ready by April 10th I panicked and went back the next morning for a remeasure. NOTE: That shirt is still not done correctly a/o this review on April 28th. YES, you read that correctly. A full month to correct a shirt length. I didn't go back to pick up the remainder of the shirts until Friday, April 12th, and was told the shirts I left behind on March 23rd were still not ready and to come back the following Tuesday. I asked to be called when they were ready so as to not make another trip for nothing. I WAS NEVER CALLED. Instead, I went in today, April 28th, and was told that the 2 shirts left behind that needed to be redone (one was too long, one was too short) were STILL NOT DONE. Not only that, but another shirt was missing altogether and they can't find it. Mind you, I am paying $15/shirt x 10 shirts, plus another 3 I brought in when coming to pick up the first 10. All you will get from the owner is an apology for their inadequacy. It is a SAD SAD business. Unorganized, unprofessional. DO NOT GO THERE. I BEG YOU!

I was able to easily make an appointment online. I brought my dress in, it was a quick drop off and they asked me a couple questions about it. They included my veil, too. They mailed it to me when it was done instead of having to go pick it up. This was no additional charge, too which was nice. They go through an outside wedding preservation company who emailed me when they received it and when they shipped it- loved the constant communication. They were having a 20% off deal for the month of June when I dropped it off so I paid $405 for this service. It took about 2 months between drop off and when it was delivered, but they were transparent about that from the beginning and it actually arrived quicker than expected! It arrived via fedex (he did need a signature, so make sure you're home) and it looks great in the box! I recommend this service!
