One of the ladies in the shop named Melissa was the sweetest little lady ever, she was so attentive and helpful. she showed me around the shop and told me all about the online and on-site sewing classes they offer. Melissa and a gentleman named Pete showed me these huge quilt making machines that makes 10 foot,12 foot and 14 foot quilts on an automated machine (so much for grandma doing it be hand). He had more than one customer but managed to keep both of us engaged in our purchase. I appreciated how he was able to demonstrate what my finished product would look like and when asked provided his opinion on the layout. Vartan is the kind of sales representative I miss in today's big box stores. He will be the reason why I will return. Completely different story when checking out at the front of the store. I selected an item where it had a 50% sign on the shelf but when I went to purchase I was told it was not on sale. The supervisor/manager was called who took, in my opinion, her own sweet time to walk 15 feet to the register I was at to say the item was not on sale. I offered to show her the item and sign but she did not want to be bothered. That is the person that I prefer to not see in customer service.

Not open yet but we were going back a couple of weeks later for our 2nd Covid Shot at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Feb 12, 2021 They were finally open but that does not help much. Store is nice and bright and well stocked any my wife was able to find the items she wanted in rather short order. She proceeded to check out and she was either #11 or #12 in line with only one check out station open. Other Michaels will bring in additional cashiers to keep the lines moving but that never happened. After about 10 minutes and finally moving up to probably #6, my wife put her items she wanted to purchase back and left the store. We will give them another try sometime in the future but with Michael in Mooresville and other nearby towns, not much incentive to visit this one again unless we are going to someplace else specifically.

5 stars for the merch: Fantastic selection of fabrics…read more MINUS 4 for the customer experience: Subpar to say the least. The lady at the store was dismissive and treated us like folks who walked in by mistake. From the moment we walked in (no hello, no greeting, just a blank and cold stare) to her assuming right off the bat that we wanted premade drapes ("we don't sell premade drapes"), it was a case study in how to NOT treat customers. It took us having to literally prove to her with pictures of our windows that we were seriously in the market for drapes. She was not willing to share even basic information like the price range for different fabric options nor was she willing to even talk about the types of options available. Her tone, tenor and attitude clearly said "I don't care for you". It was only after we told her the color of our walls by sharing the Sherwin Williams color code / name did she realize we weren't turnips that fell off the back of a truck. Up until that point she was dismissive to say the least. Even assuming we were just browsing, imagine if she had presented the brand, the store and the offerings in a positive and vibrant manner. In today's digital first world, why would you ignore and insult customers who drive across town and walk into your store? It was very clear that we were not welcome and she made no attempt to even mask it. Her loss will be another store's gain! Stay away from this store unless you like to be treated like yesterday's bread. To the owners: I hope you recognize and respect that customers come in as many shades as your fabric display!
