Cool, chill, off the beaten path place to hang out and relax…read more This is an old Gulf gas station that has been spot-on renovated into an oasis of serenity. This evening we noticed a food truck, so we stopped to pick up dinner, to go. We had not planned on staying, but tonight's food truck was so popular that we stayed longer than we expected to. Well, well, surprise, surprise, Belvedere Station serves wine and beer! Quite welcomed on a beautiful holiday weekend evening while waiting for takeout. So while waiting we walked inside where the gas station waiting room was comfortably air conditioned and stocked with the beer and wine and cute home decor/gifts. The gas station service bays had even more adorable unusual decor/gifts and also more casual seating for gathering with friends. But wait! Even more areas out back to congregate with your group of friends. Get aways, I say. I believe I noticed a group that might be regulars. So, if you have a group of friends and you like to get together, intimately, where it is not too loud, I recommend Belvedere Station. They did have cool recorded music in the background, but I thought live background music would be appreciated. I spoke with the very friendly, helpful hostess and she informed me that occasionally a person performs live guitar background music. This place is way too cool to just drive by!

In addition to serving tea and empowering women and children globally, A Cause For Tea also has a monstrous menu of baked goods (scones, biscuits, etc.) as well as delicious finger sandwiches AND a small shop with loose leaf teas for sale and other tea inspired trinkets and cookbooks. There is a large selection of a variety of teas that can be served individually or in a pot for multiple people. Individual servings come with options to add creams, whip cream, toppings, etc. Scones are huge and the finger sandwiches are delicious. We ordered a pimento cheese scone and the variety selection of finger sandwiches along with a pot of tea. Everything was amazing and we had plenty of scone left over to bring home. The place can get pretty busy, especially when the weather is nice so reservations are recommended. The menu is a little pricey however, remember its for a cause and not just for profit. Plan on plenty of time to unwind, relax and enjoy the time. It's not a place to rush through.

I loved their selection of South Carolina hats, artworks, household items, clothing, etc. Also, as a philatelist, (one who loves mail) this is one of the few places in Columbia to buy postcards (and they're affordable as well!) They also had a lot of cool Carolina and Clemson merchandise, as well as items that highlight the history of the state of South Carolina. All-in-all, it was a great store, and my only complaint is that it's not its own standalone location! Would highly recommend!

It doesn't just handle museum related items and souvenirs. Its inventory is related to everything of the entire State of South Carolina. As they state, they've "...explored every corner of the state to bring you the best of South Carolina," and from what I've seen they have done that and then some. It's a really big store and has most everything one can think of that would be South Carolina related and most of the goods are of superior quality, not just cheap Chinese built trinkets. But the best part is the selection. They have everything from jewelry to clothing to home decorator items and the staff is more than willing to assist. It's really one of the better shops I've seen within or a part of any public museum.

They have great mixed beer packs which is what I grabbed for a gift along with some wine infused salami and smoke cheese. When I told them my credit card still shows pending charge for the canceled item 6 days after the order was canceled, she told me I should call my bank for this issue. Based on this experience, I'll never order from World Market again. They try to save money by putting CSRs in Panama, but the quality of their service damages their business.
