When I opened up the ratings for the salon on yelp I was surprised at the low ratings! A girlfriend referred me here and I've been going for almost a year... I had tried about four or five other nail salons in the Waxhaw, Weddington & Marvin area and been disappointed with all of them! Now most nail salons will give you a decent pedicure, but I have solar nails (pink and white acrylic) and many places take an hour and a half to two hours to do this after I have sat waiting 20 minutes even with an appointment! This location I have NEVER had to wait, even without an appointment! They do a fantastic job EVERY time!!! Additionally, they can finish a full pink and white set in about an hour, for a fill it's between 45 minutes to an hour with the job very well done. It frustrates me that sometimes with other salons I would have to make an appointment, and then I sit and wait 15 to 20 minutes... Sometimes 30! And then they do an OK job, but it takes them over an hour and a half to finish. In which case, if I also want a pedicure I'm looking at 2 to 3 hours out of my day... Which is just plain ridiculous! One added thing I like about this location, is that I never feel like they are "pushing" anything... They don't tell you that you need to come every two weeks or that you need to have gel over regular polish. There are often times where my pink and white will last me 3 to 4 weeks, and they can give you extra white if you want it so you can do this... And they do not say a single thing or make you feel like you are a bad customer if you're not coming every two weeks. I've been to other salons were they suggest something to you and when you say no, you hear them talking to each other, and it's pretty obvious that they're saying something about you that's not very nice....nobody should ever assume that because you don't speak their language you can't understand what they are saying, body language & facial expressions tell more sometimes! read more

What a disappointment my last visit was compared to my previous ones. They bungled the time I had booked- apparently they were short staffed - not my issue. I came in for a pedicure and powder fill in. Pedicure was a solid B minus. The powder fill-in never happened; instead it was a plastic-form-pressed method which left me with a very thick overlays, and cost three times as much. Mea culpa, I didn't ask what the price would be, but neither was I informed. Buyer beware. I appreciate the people and the work they do at Beautiful Nails, and have previously been very satisfied. I have been getting my nails done here for five years. I have read all the reviews posted about this business and I can honestly say that I've never had bad customer service nor a bad nail job . I think that sometimes things get lost in translation and culture. I do not think that the nail techs here are rude by any means. This salon is always very clean, my manicures last a long time, and they also offer cards that offer you $10 off of a nail service after so many visits. After leaving this salon.. there's NOTHING beautiful about my nails.(see photo) my service was rushed unprofessional and overall terrible. The "message" on the pedicure consisted of layers of oil and lotion but no actual massage, and the employees were overall rude. We were told it would be 10 minutes and waited about 30 complained about being thirsty after working out and was never offered water and never asked what service we wanted they just assumed and choose to give us the pedicure they wanted. When I spoke with the manager who had done my nails upon checking out she said I don't know what's wrong and I told her maybe this is not the profession for her. Overall, I would say this place was pretty good. I had an appointment and didn't have to wait long at all. They had a huge selection of colors. My tech was friendly but quiet. I had a gel polish manicure and a regular pedicure. The spa was nice and clean. My only issue with this place was that my gel polish manicure chipped within a few days! Not just one chip, three chips. I don't do hard labor work. One thing I noticed was when my hand was switching off back and forth through the heater to dry, she had the setting on 60 seconds but would take my hand out before the 60 seconds so I don't know if that maybe had to do with the constant chipping or not. read more

This was my first time coming to this nail salon. I went on a Friday when they opened. I was seated right away and the establishment was very clean and their massage chairs were nice and extra wide. I had the deluxe pedicure for $35. The massage was heavenly and so was the hot stones. I didnt like how hot the wax was but other than that... This has to be, by far... the best nail salon in the Ballantyne/N. Indian Land, SC area. The only thing that could have made this experience better was if they offered wine, juice, soda and water. And it would have been nice if the volume of their TV was turned up, instead of being on silent. read more

My go-to place to get my pedicure and eyebrow wax. Nothing fancy, they just do a good job and are very consistent!

This place is close to work so is super convenient. They have fast and friendly service, I specially like the guys and Henna, she is great! I usually come here during my lunch hour, they do both my pedicure and manicure at the same time so I can be done faster. The place is clean and specious, never a long wait and they have plenty of parking space. The do a good job at a decent price. My manicure, pedicure and eyebrows came out to be around $50. I only had one issue when one of the girls did a bad job on my eyebrow wax, she took a little to much off and had me looking unbalanced for a few weeks. I am more specific with them and that seems to help. If you can try to ask for Henna, she does a great job with waxing. read more

I was disappointed. I have regular nails and wanted a natural manicure. I had a 15 minute manicure. My cuticles and skin were still very dry when I left. Hardly any lotion used and I wasn't even asked to remove my rings or watch. My natural nails are thick with polish. Not an attractive look on natural nails. We came in on a Saturday for a pre-wedding treat. The staff was nothing but friendly. We held conversations easily and had a really relaxing experience. There were four of us getting mani-pedis and two of us also got out eyebrows done. Overall a wonderful experience. Clean shop, friendly people, relaxed atmosphere. I wouldn't ask for anything else. We used groupons, which they didn't have a problem with, but groupon takes a huge overhead profit from their already discounted prices so they told us that next time, we should just ask for he coupon price and eliminate the middle man. First off, they have amazing massage chairs! That is the first star, other than that, I was not impressed with my service or the results of my pedicure. I got the "Jelli Pedicure", which is the most expensive option, but included goodies such as a stone massage; so I went for it. So the "Jelli" is this product they put in the water to make it jello-fied. Imagine your feet in a bowl of half set jello, and you're there. Gross. Also, since it changes the water, they don't run the jets, they sit there and scoop water with their hands onto your legs and feet. Onto the pedicure- the scrub was so diluted with lotion it just didn't do much, the "lustrous mask" just didn't happen, nonexistent massage- I had hot stones rubbed (not massaged) up and down my calves for five minutes each, the callus removal was half hearted, and the paint was applied so poorly that I could have done a better job at home (which I probably will do tonight). In all, really bummed out to have spent $45 plus tip (I've been in the service industry, I find it difficult to tip less than 20%). Back to Posh nails I go. I thought I would try something closer to our new home, but Posh is worth the extra 5-10 minutes of driving. Edit: After seeing all the polish all over the skin of my toes and still not dry after an hour under the drying table, I went to Posh and had them redo the polish. I have been to this nail salon several times. There is a man that works in there who is very nice. I don't know if he is the owner or what, but he gives great service. Two times I have been in and there is one woman (Asian) cute and small in stature with a cute bob hairstyle that is extremely rude to customers. She never smiles and answers the customers questions in a very rude manner. I observed her speaking to an elderly lady while she was doing her nails and I couldn't believe how she answered this ladies questions. If I were that woman I would never go back in there to have my nails done.It was a sweet elderly lady and she looked at me in amazement of how she was being treated. I couldn't believe it either. I have observed this one employee acting like this every time I go in there. It's a huge turnoff. How dare you treat your customers like this. Your customers are the ones that put the money in your pocket!! I will never go back! I will not patronize a business that acts like this to their customers. I don't know if she part owns the business or if she is just an employee, but someone needs to have a heart to heart with this high and mighty little woman and put her in her place. Lady , if you don't like your profession , I suggest you find something else to do or stop taking your frustrations out on your customers. I have seen you act like this ONE too many times. The nails were messed up really bad. I got a gel French manicure/pedicure and it was completely messed up. My nails were slanted and uneven. I also believe the utensils were not clean and neither was the work space. The pricing was also very random since they did not have a blackboard with the prices and the reasoning was not very understandable. There were no set prices and it seemed liked they had just nickel and dimed us for everything they had did. read more

Today was my second trip to this particular spa. The first time I took my daughters (ages 2&5) after getting the 'stink eye' at a different nail spa not far up the road where apparently they were not thrilled to have my young girls at their spa. However, at Beautiful Nail and Spa we were welcomed with smiles and given the best treatment. Today I brought in my nieces, one of whom has cerebral palsy. Because of her spasticity and very ticklish feet she has always been nervous about getting a pedi. As she can tip over easily if she is startled. We were once again greeted with a smile by all employees of the spa. We explained her condition and her sensitivities. The woman who worked on her feet and hands was patient and kind, and even fixed her nails that begin to smudge more than once. She never seemed frustrated just happy and grateful to be working with my niece. We had such a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend the spa to anyone. Not only did they do a beautiful job on our finger and toenails but they we're also so very kind! I will be returning several times! read more

very disappointed. Happy I found I could get gel manicure, even tho I was allergic to chemicals when getting artificial. Went to Beautiful Nails for first take off and new polish. She squirted acetone all over my hands when securing tin foil tips, waited a couple of minutes, and then used SANDER to remove polish. I didn't know any better since it was first take off. The result was ridges on nail bed which she polished over. So I came away with a manicure that was not smooth, had ridges. Also have a couple of ragged corners that snag on my clothes. I learned afterwards she was supposed to gently push off, not sand. She also sanded around my cuticles, which will grow in rough. I tried to have a little conversation with her to no avail. They may think spending $32 for a manicure is nothing to their patrons since they fork it over all day, but to me, it is a luxury and I expect for that price to have a perfect manicure that will last a couple of weeks. The first one on my smooth nail beds lasted 3 weeks. Guess I should have gone back there, but wanted to save a few dollars. I realize, too, there is a language barrier but my technician spoke well enough and was just plain unfriendly. So I'll cross this place off my list! read more

Worst manicure of my life. The girl broke 2 of my nails while trying to get gel polish off and never apologized. She also cut on of my nails way too short and then asked if I wanted the rest like that one. It was so awful I almost left with my fingers mangled and go to my usual place. A different girl came and took over half way through, she still did a crappy job. My nails are not symmetrical and look like they've grown out a week. It was the worst customer service, I deserved a discount obviously but paid full price. Biggest mistake going there just because it was closer than my regular salon at the time. read more

I went here for a mani/pedi because I got a Groupon for it, I had never been here before. The best part of the experience was the upgrades I got on the pedicure which I paid extra for that day (paraffin wax and hot stone massage). If I hadn't had gotten these upgrades it would have been a much less pleasurable experience. The girl missed multiple spots on my toes with the polish (which I didn't notice until I had left already) & I was put in the awkward situation of giving the tip before everything was done which I don't think is fair. Overall it was enjoyable simply because of the upgrades and because I hadn't had a mani or pedi in over 2 years and never treat myself but I don't think I will come back to this location with all the choices there are for nail salons. Very disappointed with my experience at this salon! Complaints: -Called a day ahead to book an appointment, asked specifically for what time they were least busy, and was told that they could accommodate whatever time I wanted. However, when I arrived no one came to the front desk at first, and when they did, I was told to wait 15 minutes. -The technician who did my pedicure and gel manicure was rude, and jerked my feet and hands around in an annoyed and unprofessional manner. -About 5 hours after having the pedicure, I put on slippers (I had previously been wearing open toed sandals to let the nails dry). Unfortunately, when I took my slippers off, I saw that the polish had still been wet and was now smudged off on the inside of my slippers, and the pedicure was ruined! Very frustrating to have a pedicure that doesn't even last 1/2 a day! I'm not sure if the technician forgot a top coat, or didn't let the layers dry enough between coats...?? I've never had this happen before. My gel manicure lasted about 10 days before peeling off, which while I hoped it would last longer, I do have my hands in water a lot (cooking, cleaning, etc.) so I wasn't very surprised about that. Overall, I would NOT recommend spending your money or your time at this salon for *rude service* and *poor quality* work. read more

I went here today asking for an Ombre, nude and lavender. I showed them a reference photo and asked if they are able to do that. Which I was told no problem. 75 way through, I noticed something was wrong. The lady then spoke up and told she doesnt know how to do what I asked for. I asked her if there is anyone else that can do it. A few others came by and told her that it's not what I asked for but its to late to do anything about it. One of the ladies asked if I can pick something else, which I did. My nail tech also completly did not remove my cubicles and laid the acrylic right ontop of my skin. I just wanted to be out of there. She ended up messing up anyway. Bumps, chips and cracks everywhere. I tipped her 20 dollars regaurdless, paid then left. I have came here 2 times before and had a wonderful time. Today will be my last day. Do not go here unless you know your nail techs. Because I clearly got someone that did not not what they were doing at all. Quality over quantity! read more
