I met up with my best girlfriend and she asked why I had hair on my forehead... And I laughed and said, my love, those are blackheads! So I knew I had a problem, and I wanted to support a local business that would help me find the resolution for that problem. That is how I came across Chen's Skincare and Spa! I loved that I was able to book an appointment online through their website which was clean and easily navigable. They only took one person per hour in the spa which was comforting giving that we are living in times of plague and pestilence. I was texted to confirm and showed up the next day, a babe in the woods, ready for my first facial/microderm treatment! My technician was Hersy and she was very polite and very understanding! She made me feel welcomed after I revealed that this was new for me as a guy who admittedly didn't know as much about skincare as perhaps I should have known! She explained everything she was doing, what the effects were, and she even made suggestions on how I could better take care of my skin. It has been three days since my Gentleman's facial and microdermabrasion treatment and I have never seen my skin glow quite like it does now! Its wonderful and I've received so many compliments! I have fewer blackheads and my skin just feels incredible! I am so glad I came to Chen's and fully intend to return to maintain a proper adult's skin care regiment! I wanted a sahasara and an eye. The process is calming for both the artist and the canvas. These days, we all need a little extra love and mental health care. I started my search around my neighborhood and after being denied twice, I continued my search in my old neighborhood, now referred to as Hamilton Heights. I walked into Blooming Threading Salon and was greeted by this very nice Indian lady. I wish I would have gotten her name to give her a little extra love here. She showed me some of her work. Some were extremely intricate. The price varied depending on what you wanted. I chose mine. It was relaxing and therapeutic. We had a nice conversation while she kept her focus on the piece of art she was creating on my skin. At the end, she made sure to dry it best she could with a fan. I loved how it came out and the best part is that it will last some time. I will definitely come back for more services. They do eyebrows, wax (with different kinds of waxes, depending on your needs). Treat yourself. A little self care goes a long way in making you feel like yourself again.

I randomly (and bravely) decided to try this place a little over a year ago and never looked back…read more I've had some bad experiences with threaders in the past but this place has great service and I never have to worry about them messing with the natural shape of my brow. And they are so cheap! Just $6 for eyebrows and $5 for upper lips. The best part is that I rarely have to go in to do spot clean-up with tweezers afterwards - these ladies leave no hair behind! (lolz) There is usually a small wait on the weekends (15-20 minutes) and they are not super strict about the hours on the door (ie: sometimes they open later or close earlier) so I would call ahead if you don't live nearby.
